I thought we could use a thread specific to this. I was asked by @virtualpurple about the Omron E5CC (High 5 LCD #1/2) as the pictures are no longer working in the SV3 mod thread, so thought I'd repost them here with working pics and make a spot for other instructions as well.

Instructions for Omron E5CC (ie. High5 LCD #1 and others)

Autotune:

  1. Press
    operation_button.jpg
button to enter adjustment level menu
  2. Use the
    up_button.jpg
    down_button.jpg
buttons to select "AT 2" setting. That will initialize the auto tune after a couple seconds. (to cancel, go back to "AT OFF")
  3. The "tune" signal will illuminate for the duration of the tuning.
  4. (You can press
    operation_button.jpg
button to go back to the main screen while it is tuning. When tuning is complete the "tune" signal will go off.)

Manually Enter PID Settings (Mine are P=8.9, I= 60, D=10)

  1. Press
    operation_button.jpg
button to enter adjustment level menu
  2. Press the
    next_button.jpg
button to cycle through the menus until you get to the "P" (proportional gain) setting.
  3. Use the
    up_button.jpg
    down_button.jpg
buttons to select the "P" value, and you can use the
    pf_button.jpg
button to control which digit is selected (to speed up entering the value)
  4. When you change the value, it will flash, when you stop changing the value for a few seconds, it exits the selection mode and the value is set.
  5. Once the P value is set, use the
    next_button.jpg
button to select the next menu setting, which is the "I" setting (integral). Set the value in the same way as above.
  6. Once the I value is set, use the
    next_button.jpg
button to select the next menu setting, which is the "D" setting (derivative). Set the value in the same way as above.
  7. That's it. Press
    operation_button.jpg
    button to exit the menu.

Change from F to C
  1. Press and hold the
    operation_button.jpg
button for at least 3 seconds to enter the initial settings menu
  2. Press the
    next_button.jpg
button several times to cycle through the menus until you get to "d-U" (temperature unit) setting
  3. Use the
    up_button.jpg
    down_button.jpg
buttons to select C or F.

Please help and I'll pay (by e-transfer), I'm a handicapped pensioner and got 1 toke out of my e-nail
before I tried to change temp. I pressed the wrong button and 0000 came up which I managed to
change to 0800 (Thinking I changed to 800 F) I then pressed Set and now the e-Nail won't go past 85 F
The e-nail was preprogrammed to 710 F what are the P I D.

I looked at the PDF and can't make heads or tails out of it but can follow along on the phone if I could
call you.

I really need help as I think the head shop that sold me this isn't even going to try and help

If someone made a Youtube video on changing PID settings for model JCat has pictured above
the High5 LED #1. I'm sure they would have lots of views as I'm not an overly inept kind of guy
and if I can make this simple mistake I'm sure many others have as well.

Why they put those buttons where they did and to not have some kind of warning. i'm Pissed

Hey @Toadknic, I think that @JCat is a busy man, I also have the hi 5 LCD and I will certainly try and help you (on the house), I don’t have access to my controller at the moment but I can try and fiddle with the device to see if I can make the adjustments as well myself and if so I will try and post the step by step for you.

Hey @Toadnic ,

Google XMT7100 . You should find PDF/instructions for that PID (this is a very common PID in many devices)

Thanks @virtualpurple ... you are correct ... especially this time of year ... working 16 hour days at my primary job!

Here's instructions: http://www.berriman.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/xmt7100.pdf

Double check you have the right thermocouple set (Type K). Maybe post your PID settings too if you can't get it working ... maybe you set them way off by accident which could cause very strange settings. Once you get them in the ballpark, you should be able to run auto-tune to get them set better.

Please I've been at this for 7 hours now and I'm not a guy who watches Jerry Springer, however I'm not a math or tech guy and have looked at this same info for many hours.

Also this info you gave shows how to get to the PID settings but not how to change and save them.

In my 7 plus hours of reading I saw something about having to enter "End" after "Set" but can't find
my way back to the info.

I can hardly walk and have no one to help can't, somone talk me through this

And I have also Googled XM7100 and found the PDF but can't figure it at all

Thanks I just noticed that you had made an offer to help. I've been asking the eBay seller for help or even
info on their 1 year in house warranty but all I get is silence.

I read the manual front to back and all they had to do was say "Don't touch" the "Set" button and if you do and see 0000 simply power off.

I'm going to have to quit smoking shatter for a month and switch to Synthetic THC or Cesamet (a.k.a. Nabilone) as it's paid for by my health plan. The problem is that it isn't nowhere as effective

Hey man ... we’re trying to help :)

Just a very busy time at work for me (16 hour days) and we don’t know what your actual problem is ...

Tough to provide help without more info :( I also don’t have one of these units anymore to play with to try to replicate your problem.

When you turn it on does the temperature rise at all? And stop at 80? Or is that where it starts?

What’s it set to?

I think if you just press the up/down buttons that controls the set temp so you should be able to determine what it’s set to.

Apart from that ... is the coil on? There’s a toggle switch on the back for the coil ...

If none of this helps maybe send a short video or pictures of what it does when you turn it on?

We all want to help man :)

I Thank-you guys I really do and I hope it comes across, I'm older and don't really know how to
communicate.

The temp starts around 116 and drops to 85

It is set to 743 F after trying to Auto Recalibrate at 400 F (the Out (AT) Flashed for 45mins and
Temp stayed at 85 before I quit). I followed the standard Recalibration formula that I found in 3
different places, it was easy to follow but still didn't work.

When you say toggle switch do you mean the Power I/O (it's on and lit). The Enail worked great
for 1 toke until I tried to change temp and pressed something to make flashing 0000 appear which
I then changed to 743 and pressed set. That's when it quit working.

It is said to be a non returnable eBay product but has a 1 year warranty, now the company is completely
ignoring me. What they don't know is that is they continue to ignore my simple request for warranty info
that they lose there case to me for 48hrs non contact.

Good News for some reason my Paypal says the Enail was paid for but the money has come back to my
bank account. It looks like I now have a bunch of extra parts as I still have the unit and haven't heard from the seller.

I think all enails with the PID Controller should come with a warning I.E. "Unless you are an expert with PID Menus, Do Not Press the "> or Set" buttons. If in the event you Press theses buttons or see a screen with Flashing 0000's, simply power off the unit and turn it back on.

Two sentences in bright red on a card

I'm still open to help but I think it would be best to have someone to talk to live as each message takes me
a long time and I've literally spent over 9 hours searching Google, Reddit and Youtube Videos.

No wonder they have a disclaimer in their warranty about not accepting Enails that have been thrown

The seller is "The 420 Stop" Smoke Shop on eBay out of Edmonton Canada

I don't think I got the money back as a refund but rather an error and think the seller still got paid.
All I know for sure is that they were great to deal with and very friendly and then completely ignored
me for the last 48hrs when I asked for help. Help so that I wouldn't have to return the product.

So if they suddenly claim that Paypal didn't pay I will ignore them as they have ignored me.

I am still willing to pay if someone can walk me through this on the phone, but it would have to wait
until February as I am broke.

Thanks All

Sorry no there isn't and I just tried to add a pic and I can't get it to work. It asks for a URL and I don't understand
Ok. Got it about the toggle switch. What about a fuse? Is there a fuse on the back of the unit? Is the fuse blown or is it ok? (most units have 2 switches ... 1 for the power and 1 for the coil)

Toadknic

Member
It is said to come with 2 fuses but I really don't think it's a fuse as it worked perfect for 1 Toke until I pressed either the Set or the > Button. I then saw 0000's Flashing and used the > button and ^ button
to change the numbers to 0743 and then pressed Set button.

That's when everything quit working and it would start up at 216 F and drop to 85 F.

I got back into 0000 menu and changed it to 0036 and pressed Set which took me to the PID
menu as from what I've read I screwed up the PID.

But I've read of so many different PID settings and some with decimals (were do you put a decimal on a 0000 screen). The most common PID setting I found was 20 35 4, I changed each respectivly and the changes took by scrolling to End and pressing Set after changing each number.

But it just made so it started at 116 f instead of 216 f and still dropped to 85 f

If the fuse was blown would the screen still light?

If I find a solution I will post it for all

I hope you guys are able to get it dialed in! I had to alter my plans and leave home earlier than I planned, but I think it will be getting shipped to me before long and if you guys haven’t got it squared away I’ll try and start diving in!

I’ve read your comments up above and want to make sure to let you know that you definitely are not alone with your frustration! I really struggled getting mine properly dialed in initially but when I start to mess with it again I think it does kinda clear the mud for me a little.

You are aware that the Control Box comes preprogrammed to reach 710 F. You shouldn't have to make any changes and my changes were made by mistake. There are also simple videos and instructions on how to Recalibrate, and this is only done when the temp starts to vary above or below your set temp by 20 f.

To change the temp you simply use the "^" or "v" to scroll to your desired temp. If you have just scrolled up from say 710 f to 800 f the screen will flash 800 or 0800 ten times. The temp is then set. Again if the temp that reads is off from what you set by more than 20 f you could recalibrate.

So you should have no worries, I'd read the manual front to back (it's tiny)

I do have someone who is going to try and help me fix this via Skype sometime today.

I will do my best to provide a solution but I'm also driving myself nuts and will give up in a few days.

I can't handle hours and hours of reading and not understanding

Have a Better Day...eh

I was offered help and each time I made contact I was asked if we could do this the next day.
This happened 3 days in a row with each day ending with "Sorry took longer than expected, how about tomorrow. Just give me a text tomorrow and we'll set up a time."

My last effort to contact didn't even get a response

just push SET and go to the settings you changed and change them back, et voila. :sarcasm:

Sorry, bad joke, I wish I could help. Can't you have someone over with a similar setup and carefully compare all settings.
As there are four digits there could be quite some entry points to settings like 0089 or 0036. And you know how many settings there are in 0036.
And you could have changed any of them unintentionally. It's a difficult task.

Another good tip would be, buy a new one, as you got it for free? :sarcast:

It turns out I didn't get it for free but was overdrawn by $37 which stopped my bank from paying Paypal.
Paypal then paid for my item but took 3 business days to inform me that I now have a -$132.30 balance.

The whole sale is being disputed by Paypal as the seller won't answer even a simple request for Warranty Info
But in the meantime I may have to wait weeks to get this settled.

So I can't even order a replacement unless I pay what I owe to Paypal and then if they decide to only honor a warranty I am then stuck with 2 Enails.

Somebody could make a business out of this repair as literally 99% of Enails use the XMT7100
controller and they are all easily broken.

Cannabis is Legal in Canada but Headshops still treat the customer as if they are criminals who have no
one to complain to.

And no I don't have anyone to help as years ago my friends moved onto Crack and have lost all their
teeth. I'm handicapped and housebound.
