Dear Bravesst, I hope you had some nice holydays

From what I understood you already shipped the december batch, but I didnt receive any shipment confirmation of my Classic cherry /w maple mouthpiece ordered on the 7th december.
So I just wanted to know the status of my order
With the loss of my only battery powered vaporizer, the awaiting is becoming a little harder each day :p

Anyway thank you for your quality work and staying close to your clients

+1
would love to get confirmation for my order as well.

Every unit except pre ordered Elites has shipped. I'll do my best to get tracking numbers out later today. I wound up shipping 15 units and one back plate. I'm back ordered on batts, so the most recent battery purchases will either be refunded, or accept delivery in a week or so. @Denis69 and @Kfirrer both shipped, along with a couple of other internationals, this morning.

Woohoo, my order was likely in that as well. Super pumped to receive it, thanks for all your hard work creating this.

Received my lb today and have been testing it out. It was definitely worth the wait. The thing is crazy light (even with battery in), and the overall finish is top notch (I have the classic cherry). There's not much I can add about performance that hasn't been stated already. Super quick heat up! I charred a bowl using my mvt2 technique. This vape is a touch then go. I made it more complicated than it needed to be lol. Overall really loving it, no complaints. Thanks @Bravesst

Edit: is the lb compatible with 18mm joints?

I received my lil bud yesterday and ran through about 6 bowls.

I was really impressed with the units finish and craftsmanship. It works great as well.

Gotta get my technique down but what I was trying yesterday was working well.

I can tell right away that I think I'm going to need a gladg insert for my stem. I like the wide open draw but would prefer to narrow it slightly.

It kinda reminds me of an electric sticky brick.

I just ordered some much needed inventory. It's amazing how fast you can spend. I've added Maple and Ambrosia Maple to the LB line up (not posted on the website), and I just ordered some Ambrosia, really cool stuff, as well as some highly figured walnut. If you want to jump on the ambrosia bandwagon today, it happens to be today's Deal of the Day. Walnut and Cherry Classic may be purchased on the website.

Who wants Ambrosia Maple at the Maple price of $189?

Just when you think you have customers figured out, sales trends change like the wind. Walnut was the hot item, then Cherry caught fire. I introduced some gnarly Walnut and other exotics. Purple Heart, quite bold and beautiful caught everybody's attention.

I actually prefer PH as an accent wood, not the full PH unit, either as a racing stripe, switch box, back plate, and that is how it's being manufactured at this point.

EXPRESS SALE - available for immediate delivery (tomorrow) $189 w/ standard roasting tube
Take a peek at the 9 units / 4 styles with varying amounts of PH. I have 4 assembled and ready to go. Tube supply is limited, but I think I have a few left of both standard and cooling (add $10).

Here's a pic of the latest Elite prototypes *under construction*. The larger wire box vs switch box is more difficult to fit, and I had an idea, why not flip the grain on the box for a better fit, easier drilling, cool look. It worked out pretty well. From now on, all LB will feature horizontal grain on the switch or wire box. This puts end grain on each side, as well as allowing for the face grain and long grain to form the joint.

Just about outta tubes - couple in stock. No worries, @Alan is working on a large roasting tube order for me.

Ambrosia Maple and Figured Walnut is on the way. I just added the AM to the website and put it on sale with coupon code: AMBROSIA saving you $10 percent. They're gonna make some very sick looking LB's. I really can't wait to start building them.

I am really looking forward to flipping the switch box on my Classics. I think it's an even bolder look than with the Elite because the switch box doesn't get mortised out and covered with a plate. This was something I should have thought of before, but somehow my brain wasn't going there. A simple flip of a block of wood is going to create much character, but is also a very practical move.

Think of a piece of wood and the grain like a broom, with all the grain running in one direction. The end of the broom where you sweep is the end grain, the sides are the long and face grain. End grain can look amazing, but is very hard to work. It's also not the best for forming joints, while on the other hand, long and face grain is much better to work and form joints. By flipping the switch box, I've placed long grain and face grain against the body, and have left the end grain to each side. Not sure why I didn't see this sooner. This also opens up a few avenues of creativity, as a contrasting switch box will now look even more amazing. What about Ambrosia / Walnut (10% sale)?

LB 4.0 flipped switch box.

Just received the Bud, the thing is a Beaty :D
I dont have any material with me so I will test it tonight, still I have a lil' question : is your weed supposed to be in contact with the mesh inside the Bud ? If so how am I supposed to clean it afterwards ?
I feel Im missing something here :mental:

Your weed is supposed to be in the tip of the stem, lightly tamped so it stays in place when in the stem is in the Lil Bud's heater.

Come on, be bold and experiment...and read the thread and look at YouTube videos. RBT vapes are a microdosing dream.....why? Not because they're designed for tiny loads (although you can do just a thin layer in the stem. But seriously, because it's on demand, you can take a sip, sit it down, come back later, hell, come back tomorrow or the next day. I often get 10 or more hits out of a nicely packed stem. I'm sure that the same will hold true for Vapwood vapes

And seriously, I'm not yanking your chain here.....but how do you get a custom on demand low-volume vape into your hands and haven't done the due diligence to know how it works?

Hi @Denis69 welcome to the LB family. I won't tell you what to do, but I'll tell you how I do it.

First I use that wonderful dowel/safety pin tool to set the screen to the right depth which for me is about 3/8" from the end of the stem.

I use the stem as a straw and inhale some flower loosely into the stem. I put in enough so that it fills the entire cavity, and then tamp it down using the dowel tool. Make yourself a nice little puck. That typically leaves me with a bit more than an 1/8" 'clearance' from the flower to the end of the stem. Leaving that room helps to not char the load, as well as making it easier to stir after 3-4 hits.

But as @mucsusn suggested regarding micro-dosing. This is an on-demand vape, and they are the king of micro-dosing. This isn't a session vape where you use everything in one session. This is the kind of vape you can sip on for hours or cash a load in 5 minutes. It's up to you. I actually like that @Bravesst calls it self-regulated. How you use this vaporizer is entirely up to you yourself.

So load the amount that allows the LB to function the best, and then learn how to titrate. You may well be happy with one big draw. And this is the only on-demand vape I've used that gives you a great first hit. But man that second and third.

BTW, my screen setting is based on my draw and the stem I use: a 4" glass lined custom beauty from @Alan. You may end up seating the screen deeper or shallower.

And if you don't have a glass lined roasting tube-you need one. Or two. They do an amazing job creating cool tasty vapor, and they collect the most gorgeous 'honey' you can imagine. Cleaning day means happy day. Today happened to be cleaning day for me. I put my glass pieces in 1/2 & 1/2, heated it on low for 15-20 minutes and had canna-coffee. About 60% of the flower I'm using these days is CBD so it's a very nice mellow edible buzz.

Happy Day FCers

Hold the presses on the grain flip, at least with PH, at least with the Elite. I do have a few ideas, but it's not gonna be that easy. Having thin, end grain in PH doesn't tolerate the mortise for the chip (Elite). It still may work well with the Classic. Always another challenge to solve.

@Denis69 .
I did a video on how to load to stem not too long ago for other fc members .. it's only a minute long , wish it helps ! It does happen some grains fall from stem on to bottom screen but it is easily blown or picked away when it happens. It will all make sense once you pack and vape your first bowl ! Congratulations!

Congratulations to @caseball2051 too, glad you are enjoying your LB , wish the loading vid was helpful to you too :)

Congrats to all others I've missed, used to be on track but the LB Crew is starting to grow at fast pace! Yeah baby!

Elite looking good @Bravesst ! Hawt!

Vape on!

I'm glad you're all having so much fun with Lil' Bud as I work my ass off designing the Elite. Warms my heart and keeps me motivated to keep going. We had a snafu or two, including the heater in my wood shop just shutting down. It's a $100 electric quartz heater (my last one lasted years, this one just one year). I have a new one coming tomorrow. Sucks when I have much to do today.

Not sure what is going on with my Makita router, but there was an issue with the bit shifting (being pulled out a few mm's). Not sure how that is even possible, maybe I didn't tighten down enough, but it happened twice. Now I have to keep an eye on the bit depth, or possibly get a new collet for the router.

On another note, I'm always happy to move an assembled unit, and yesterday the Blend on the left sold and shipped same day. Number 2 and 3 are still available for $189 with tube (I've got 2 tubes left while I wait for a delivery, one standard maple, one cooling maple). Number 4 sold, but I have another in pre-assembly.

Got mine yesterday and results were inconsistent. I ran probably 5 bowls so far and combusted prolly 3 times. My first self regulated unit so i will happily practice. Any tips? How long do you usually hold the button to draw? Block the carbs completely? Also has anyone plugged one of the carb holes so they only have to manually work the other one? I got stubby fingers and can work both and the button but it's a bit awkward.

Edit: if u plugged a carb what material did u use? Also wanted to add the craftsmanship was outstanding, the look feel and use are top notch.

Might I suggest that neither hole be blocked as a "carb" if you are having combustion events. My new LB is quite consistent with regard to performance. Your reference is the first I have read about the air inlets being utilized in this fashion.

I haven't been blocking any of the air intake holes.

To get myself started I held button for 3sec to hear up, took a good 6-7sec draw and let go of the button. Exhaled a good hit of vapor. This was easily repeatable.

I haven't combusted yet in my unit. I don't really expect to.

The variables that will most effect performance seem to be...

1. Battery life.
2. Packing the stem.
3. Draw speed.
4. Button presses.

I used my lil bud exclusively last night and was blown away. It's quickly climbing the list of my favorite units to use.

Hmmm why have carbs if not used at all? Thanks for the feedback i will practice more this week.
