What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

Yeah @cybrguy I actually really like the ergonomics of this bronze RX DNA, it can rest to offset SZ (maybe not as perfect as my G3D but almost as compact), I bet it'd be better with a regular Splinter though (great now I need one of those!)

The Triade looks like a good fit, really makes it feel like an LSV! Still a little tempted to try that and the P80 but no more mod purchases by me allowed!

Edit for photos of my Canarywood SplinterZ on RX Gen3Dual (brushed gunmetal) and my OsageOrange iHeat on RX DNA250 (brushed bronze) together:

Still not really sure if I've got the DNA setup right, like what exactly is the profile doing? There was stuff mentioned in the place where I downloaded them that suggested material options I just don't see available in the mod... And escribe just has way too much going on to know what I'm doing exactly, all I know is I did get the FC interface and profiles loaded at least, whatever that actually means
I like seeing those pix since those are the same two mods I've upgraded to for my Splinters. But damn, have you tried the DNA ecigprofile for the Z? I was just using my og Splinter on the bronze mod tonight and, while your pictured setup with the smaller vape on the bigger mod looks and handles best, both vapes perform better for me with the DNA.

Makes me want to get a smaller dna or find better settings for the rxg3d. So far the takeaway is just that the DNA works better. I should at least check to make sure there's a profile for the 75c.

And yeah, I have no idea what those ecigprofiles profiles do. But I like it.

So there should be no downside to going with something with the DNA75 rather than the DNA250 in terms of power, right? I have never gone past 40 watts or so on my mod and can't really imagine a need to go must past that. The only concern might be that the higher end chip employs better tech in some way. Since I am LOOKING to use fewer cells I can't see what I might be shorting myself on with a lesser powered mod otherwise.

almost there

DNA75 is 85% battery efficient and DNA250 is 98%, think that is due to the batteries in the DNA75 being set parallel instead of series. Those percentages may be a little bit off so no tar and feathers guys:lol:

Based on that sounds like a single battery DNA75 mod is as efficient as a multi-battery DNA250 mod.

Right, I'm not convinced the battery parallel configuration has anything do to with efficiency. But the higher operating voltage of 2S or 3S has some implications. As does the atty resistance.

Haha yeah I am holding out hope for them to release a G3D dna version some day... That would be my ideal I think. I do need to try my Z on the bigger bronze dna but then I won't want to go back I bet!

I think I'm getting sucked into this Hcigar VT75D. It is well reviewed and the negatives in the reviews are not very serious.
I love the bronze look of the RX DNA250 LE, but I really don't think I want another 3 battery device. So far I haven't even bothered with 3 on the RX 2/3.
My only real concern is no venting holes, and while that isn't something I am expecting to need it would be nice to have it. So far this is the only device I have noticed without it.

I think I talked myself out of it. I watched a review on YouTube (hands up: who doesn't value their free time?!) and didn't love the tacky plastic wood, lack of vents, and snug battery compartment that won't fit 30Q cells, which are all I currently own. It's also got a small, slightly angled top that doesn't seem like it'll fit my Splinters all that well.

I would like a two cell dna mod but since I can already enjoy the DNA performance benefits with the chunky bronze wismec I should hold off and look for something that's a great fit, a great deal, or both.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the 30Qs I got for my bronzer also fit a bit more snug, the battery door closes but it is ever so slightly pushed out, barely loose and wobbly so fine though I do notice it

Nice one, thanks man!
... Checked that site and didn't see any stellar deals after the code. We should always welcome discounts, I'm just saying for me personally but I tweak out about deals. Plus I got this DNA250 for cheap so I can afford to shop around. I do appreciate the tip though!

I'm the same with the RX 2/3, never even put the third battery door on.
The Hcigar can go 2 batteries or down to one if you want.

The Splinter Z is a tough one for the smaller two or one battery mods. Good size overhang and huge head like on this one and my RX 2/3.

Is the chunky bronze Wisemic a regular DNA, or a DNAc?
I have the Steam Engine with regular DNA75 and the performance definitely takes a step up with the DNA75c chipset.

Pic of @KeroZen mod to atty proportion nightmare. :D

The way that fits on there is discouraging. As is not being able to use 30Qs...

Yea, it was originally bought for my I heat, which it fits it much better and the wood strips match a tiny bit better than the Z's maple.. I was just trying the Z on it and was pleasantly surprised.

vy9i1g.jpg

For less than $83.00 shipped, it's the cheapest buy-in to the DNAc chip.
Although @tennisguru1 is killing me with these nice Lost vape deals though. I thought I was all set.....purple ostrich.....

The bronze is just DNA and it's already my best on demand experience ever.

Thanks for sharing the pix of the VT75D fit.

I'm reconsidering the Triade. The bulk of the bronze Wismec wasn't the issue as much as my long XL8R jacking the total height. So if the wand vibe is a just hazard of the big stem and longer Z with any mod then maybe the epic battery life and nice pin position of the Triade would be a decent solution. Don't want to pay nothing like Triade money though.

I really do prefer the rounder triangular shaped mods over the rectangular ones. They feel better in my hand and are balanced better over glass.
I think the lack of venting could make a dumb mistake catastrophic on a metal mod, tho and I think I have to pass. A little more safety is worth a few more bucks I think.

I've noticed not many people buying this and have wondered why since it's the mod that Alan recommended for the iheat and is very inexpensive. Do you think it's the holes? And if so, what are they needed for?
I bought one but sent mine to Alan to adjust for the iheat he is making me.

The holes are vents that allow air and gas to escape in case there is a battery failure. We all hope we will never have a battery failure and most of us probably won't, but allowing a battery to short, using badly mismatched batteries or defective batteries can cause battery failure that results in very aggressive or explosive release of gas and heat that can be very dangerous. The vents allow the gas to escape the device without enough pressure to actually blow up the device. If there are no vents in a metal device and a venting occurs the device may explode throwing metal shard around at high speed. That would not be something you want to be near.
A battery failing inside a device with vents will likely still be quite unpleasant and could result in burns or fire (especially if it's in your pocket when it happens) but is much less likely to serious injury. However, with no vent there is nowhere for the expanding gas to go and it may blow up the device violently.
This is an example of someone doing this intentionally just to show the danger.
Ergo the message below in my Sig...

An off topic public service announcement for those that may have missed it: the good folks at ModPod Labs (makers of the StemPod) have a cooling mouthpiece like all the kids are using on sale for $22.50 shipped.

https://modpodlabs.com/product/cooling-stem/

I don't own a Stempod but would be keen to get one of these if it's compatible with my Tubo X and Splinters. Looks like a good way to reduce the wizard wandness of my Z. Plus the short XL8R is still out of stock at rbt.

Yea, the dude on the video pulled the insulator tab thing out and and had a torn wrap. That was going to happen on any device, tiny vent holes or not. Was that unit that exploded in the video vented? That still would have sucked in someone's pocket and vent holes wouldn't have made much difference.
