So this was a fun afternoon project. Very cool spoon with horn handle I found curbside a while back. Miscalculated the curve when drilling and slightly split the horn, hence a hemp string wrap over that part so no sharp edges.

@Dubmonkey and @-dab8- I bought from a UK Ebay vendor.

@cybrguy I'm afraid not.

@Chandler I had a couple of the metal pads sent over by @Squiby but she is obviously a lot less clumsy than me as I ended up with sticky shit all over the wrong places.

I do reuse the cotton and I'm happy with 3 sometimes 4 reuses it just depends on how clean the concentrate is.
Rosin being the dirtiest so far, any plant material that comes thru the press turns black vaping at the high temps needed.
I've never charred the cotton.

The Muji is from the ecig world and they run it a lot hotter than I ever will and 70 pads for £5/$6.50 cut to suit last for ever.

Used this way I rarely get gunked up

Yeah, the paper being the medium is the problem. I'll just keep using the Lotus and do my best to keep it from igniting. There isn't that much anyway.
He DOES have one cart where the glass didn't shatter but the 510 connection has separated from the glass. If I get that from him (I think he would rather not fuck with it) and the oil is still in the pod would you just drip that onto a nug or something like the pads?

@cybrguy sorry should have quoted your post.
No not a DV IH.

As for the oil, I would have thought you could wrap the paper in some cotton.

Let us know how you get on dipping nugs in oil, then roll them in kief for diy moon rocks.

Dripped on cotton it should be fine.
I make sure it's wrapped up otherwise it runs into the clicker when using an IH.

So I had never tried concentrates of any kind since I began vaping, and a friend who just had back/neck surgery has been using cannabis oil in cartridges and it seems to work very well to help reduce his pain and use less Oxy. I have had some and it really is drop dead easy and I see why folks love it so much. I am afraid of it as I can see how easy it would be to use more and develop tolerances that might make flower less effective.

Anyway, one of his carts broke and he wrapped it up in a paper towel. Needless to say all the oil soaked into the paper towel, and I have been playing with ways to consume it. I have tried using a VC and it DOES work, but the bowl is so small it is awkward. I seem to have better luck with a Lotus which has a slightly bigger bowl but more importantly allows more heat and "live" heat control. The trick seems to be to get enough heat to vape the oil without enough to combust the paper. :science:

Any other thought on how to do this with the VCs?

Damn, @cybrguy you got me run run run, running to my fav LPS tomorrow, picking up a Trainwreck cart
for New Year’s Eve.

For some reason, they gave me a card for 20% off on my next purchase, plus a pre-rolled for $1.

Suppose I should capitalize on the discount and pick up some “flower”, too.

I'm sorry the pad approach didn't work out for you. I think that I likely take fewer and smaller hits than you, being female with less lung capacity and asthmatic with a tendency to load lesser amounts resulting in less overall goo.

I didn't mean for you to get all sticky everywhere...

Yeah fuck you. :o

J/K of course but I can't wait for the time when I can walk in a store and order off a menu. Just can't come soon enough.

Massachusetts = “civilized” ?

In time Illinois will follow, toot sweet!

INSA seems to want to build their customer base up, randomly giving out discount cards, allowing
You to get back in line despite limits per “visit”. Talked to friendly chatty patrons from
New Hampshire, Connecticut, even from the City. Imagine.

I think I will try to get a “medical” card, no waiting in line, no limits.

INSA will for every $50 spent, give a $50 store credit, up to $200, thus in effect reembursing the $200 medical fee. Sweet.

Showing off my Shad-dow! #167 while waiting in line.

(BTW no waiting in line when pre-ordering online, but then you miss the camaraderie chatting
With your neighbors in line)

@Squiby that reminds my our discussion on hash. You got me sticky too . I think you're hitting/heating your goods softly. I understand your condition but you must be leaving some goods aside.

Can please someone help me out? I have read trough the web searching for a vapcap magnet.

I ordered diametrically magnetized magnets, 10mm x 5mm N45.
The cap sticks to em, centered. Tough it could need more pull. Cap removal is not smooth and does not work too good.

Which magnet should I order?
If one got a link to buy some In China that had be nice as well.

Thanks. I appreciate the visual! I'll see if they deliver to Canada

Edit

Thanks for ecig hint. I just looked up local ecig shops and searched organic cotton from first hit, and they have multiple types ... 'unicorn hair' , 'cotton bacon' , and what seems to be the best by description 'samurai Japanese cotton (koh Gen do), 100% organic, unbleached, pesticide free.

If the cap is on too tight... No magnet will easily remove it...

I have fishing retrieval magnets that can lift over 100 pounds easily... They still can't remove a tight cap very easily.

That N45 is the strength... N52 would be stronger but not really make much difference... I've tried many...

I linked a magnet from Amazon a few pages back... This particular magnet must be hung from something as it can't sit flat on a table... i always hang it from my neck... Makes securing and holding the cap easy and keeps it close while i load/unload, fish, hunt etc.

I can hang the vapcap and let it cool between clicks too...

Are there stronger magnets... Yes... But this works perfectly for me.

@WoodVillain ill fish for sturgeon and big pike and musky, but magnet fishing CREEPS me out.

Some wax on a bed of flowers tastes so dang good in the Omni..

LOL

I've never actually used the fishing magnets for fishing LOL

I mostly fish freshwater... And mostly for catfish and bream aka sunfish aka panfish etc...

But also occasionally bass fish...

And once a month or so i go saltwater fishing for shark, reds, mackerel etc.

But my absolute favorite fishing... Is bowfishing gar. You combine hunting and fishing into one. Get to shoot something and fight a fish.. Damn hard to beat.

When I'm not injured i fish a couple times every week... Damn near year round.

I'll post a few pics in that vapcat chat thread in a bit. This conversation is better there LOL.

No. I do think we are vaping different products. I have consumed hash over 45 years and it has never been melty or left a residue on the bowl whether knifing it, smoking it or vaping it.

The hash that has been available to me here in Canada maintains its shape and when spent and no longer can produce vapor, can simply be dumped out without leaving any residue and easily crumbles to a powder. To get all it has to give it requires higher heat than bud and the cap needs to be heated near the bottom for a few seconds past the click.

If your hash product produces a sticky residue, either wrap it in fiber or cotton or make a flower sandwich.

I think its been 30 years since I had decent hash. It used to come around all the time in the 70s (much of it coming home with "the boys") and through the 80s, but I never see it anymore. I have never yet vaped it. :(

I hope it soon becomes available to you and that you try vaping it.

Hash has always been my favorite cannabis form. Something about the smell of it brings on euphoric reflections. It's solid and easy to carry around with no special container required and I love it in the Vapvap. Right now I have some BC Fire Hash, sativa dominant Moroccan Hash and indica Afghani Hash. I love them all. The aroma and flavor from all of them is exquisite.

When I was moving, I found an old chunk of hash rolled up in a piece of paper backed cigarette package tinfoil. It was at least 10 years old. Hard as a rock. I shaved off a bit and popped it into my tip and surprise surprise, it still rocked me!!!

Hash is immortal....Just like Vapcaps!!!

I also love hash, growing up in the 80s hash was king in Toronto. I put my THC use on hold for 17 years. I was with a friend and said as a joke "I bet there is no good black anymore" he pulled out a chunk and said smell this. The flood of memories was overwhelming. I only smoke black alone in a bowl. It's harsh as hell but sooooo good. I bought a showerhead bong last week for black . But would love to learn the proper technique for vapcapping black. Black justs puts you in a special place and lovingly holds you there .

For the very first time I'm headed into a New Year combustion-free thanks to Dynavap and the help of all the members of this thread and their insights. I've been smoking since the early 70's and started vaping in 2014 but always felt the need for a "quick one" via my old dugout or pipes. The Dynavap filled that gap and now I can do a couple of quick hits and still make my train to work in the morning. Loving every minute of it and I'm sure my cardiologist will be happier too.

Wishing all of you a Happy New Year

Before I waste more money on the wrong magnet:
Diametrically magnetized Disk magnet 14mm x 6mm, N38, 4.5KG pull

Would these be sufficient ?

@WoodVillain have you considered the nexus between a very strong magnet and the possibility of the interaction of the magnetic field with the electric field of the heart.

Especially if one has a fiddly heart?

Jus sayin.

Happy Another Year!

More VapCaps, please.
