The Lotus Vaporizer

I am very interested in this vape. I am wondering if it will be a good vapcap replacement for me. I find the vapor too harsh even using water with my vapcaps.

Anyone feel the vapor from the Lotus is less harsh than from a Ti vapcap?
The nice thing about it is that you can control how much heat you apply to the lotus and figure out what creates the best vapor and heat for you

I dont find the VC harsh but I think the Lotus has better flavor. Also, the Lotus is a perfect vape to use with a water piece. That should reduce the harshness. Of course, you can use a VC through water as well. I normally dont use water with my Omni VC, but I do with my NonaVong. I think a water piece might be a good investment for you.

The SS of the M tips is not harsh to me...but the Ti tips are somewhat. I only use with water, so the Lotus has peaked my interest.

I wanted to post a followup to my review of the new VaporScope stem. It just so happens that my left eye is way more dominant than my right eye so I hadn't noticed a particularly cool feature of this stem: the vapor collection chamber is directly below your right eye and you can observe the build up of vapor as you inhale. I had to close my left eye in order to fully make use of this feature. It's a great design — I'd love to see one offered for other people with impaired vision in their right eyes, one with the features reversed, but as for now I'm vaping with one eye shut and I'm enjoying the VaporScope even more.

@LabPong I can say the Lotus is nothing like the Dynavaps trough water.,they are so restricted,i feel like my eyes are going to pop out. Lotus delivers freeflow like the desktops, and there is very little conduction involved. It stops heating your herb the minute you stop inhalation which helps a lot to preserve taste for several hits. I havent really tried the newer versions but i have a V1 which is still running strong, had only to replace the plate once, after years of use.

Yes, the Lotus is practically indestructible. And that flavor, wow! It's the best tasting portable vape I have used.

That is great that the Lotus has little draw restriction.....yea the vapcaps are pretty restrictive in water units...even the Ti tips.

I like the less conduction aspect compared to the vapcap too!

Man.....you guys pretty much got me sold on one of these beauties.

Form one of our customers: Your product is really one of a kind, holding strong after 5 years of use and still working as solid as the day I got it, through 4 place replacements, a dozen lighters..., the black paint is half chipped off the rim but the unit itself is still totally stable, nothing has come loose, the screws still hold strong, the metal bowl and stem are indestructible so far, no other vaporizer has stood the test of time the way yours has.

We also just got an award from Sneaky Pete, a Canadian on-line retailer, for best overall vapor (taste).

I waited so long to pull the trigger on this one. I have no idea why. Reminds me of a perfect mflb This is the best tasting vape I have. Unreal job, I'm just pissed I didn't get this years ago.

Agree, waited and purchased earlier this year. You won't be disappointed best flavour of all my vapes
Hey. Thanks. Feel like this vape is back in play for me.

When you all are talking about the Lotus having the best or awesome flavor, are you getting those results through the pipe stem, J Hook, or water?

Trying to figure out which kit to get with flavor being my #1 priority.

I use mine with the J-hook most of the time. Honestly, I haven't noticed much of a difference in taste from the pipe, j-hook, or my bubbler.

I think the kit to purchase is mostly personal preference. The taste should be there whichever option you choose.

First post on FC in about 4 or 5 years. Been through a few different vapes in that time and I also can't believe that I missed this one as well. It's on it's way in the mail. I've decided I only want "on demand" vapes now as I have plenty of "session" units (portable and tabletop) kicking around. Already read the last 30 pages of this thread. Can't wait !

Yup ! That worked.

First impression : Used about 1/2 or a bit more of my normal dosage size spread over 2 bowlfuls in the Lotus. Coarse grind. Got a few superb hits and a few light ones from each bowl stirring between hits. After I dumped them out I noticed that there was still about 20% of the material still green, (less so on the second bowlful), so I sent it back in for another round. After that it was nicely and evenly browned.

I need to work a bit on my draw-speed probably, (slower) and maybe a bit finer grind, I have a large butane lighter that I should probably use as the flame is more stable and adjusts down to a fine blue pointed flame BUT it probably weighs more than the Lotus and the fuel-tank should last for a week. Nice base on the bottom for when you set it down too but just to damn big/bulky/awkward.

I need to find something better than the little Honest that came with it as that device is defective because the flame does not go out when the button is released anywhere from 2 or 3 seconds sometimes to .......until I click it again a time or two and finally get it to go out. Kinda wish I had of done the lighter upgrade on site.

Unfortunately I have a head-cold ATM so will probably be a little slower at breaking in this device as I would like to be.......

So far so good.

I also have BOTH and they BOTH have a place as daily drivers.

Lotus is tops for flavor and for no restriction hard hitting impact, but there is a learning curve and the bowl-like aesthetics limit use in many places.

OmniVap is far the better option if you need to go unnoticed, fly/travel, public use, pocket-ability. There is no learning curve.

I don't get more draws with the lotus in spite of the larger bowl, they just hit harder. 1-3 full hard draws and the lotus goes to coffee.

To be clear: the LOTUS is over looked?

Do you think there'd be any sense in using some sort of composite material in place of wood for the vapor cap? It would need to be of similar density and have similar insulating properties. I'm thinking some sort of ceramic material? I mention this because wood does scorch and threads for the tiny screws can strip. A cap made of a more durable material would be truly permanent and only component plates and screens would ever need replacement.

Of course, this is just stoned speculation...the Lotus is fine just as it is!
