You probably saw it, but for anyone reading back Monsoon already had a coil and it was shorter than the ones the VRod is designed around, so he stretched his coil to fit the space better. Anyone buying a VRod compatible coil doesn't have to worry about that. :)
It actually was a VRod specific coil from 710Coils, he said he's looking into it. I could have just gotten a refund and ordered direct from NewVape but I wanted avoid the cost and hassle and just get to using it right away.

Long time lurker, had my vrod setup for the last 5-6 months after hitting the 420 sale. Recently took advantage of the other sales and upgraded a bit to the new Auber controller which I had my eyes on to begin with earlier in the year but settled due to the vrod compatibility.

Showing off my setup and custom handle which I made after discovering that the enail combos do not come with them. So saw the opportunity to experiment a bit with what I have seen others do.

Also wanted to say thanks for the tons of tips in this thread, there is so much to go through here on what others have done and it’s insane the devotion the group has!

Great setup. Really digging your handle. What's it made of? Was it difficult to make?

Ah. Thanks for the heads up.

Super duper handle @chaos_theory!
Hello to everyone I am still reading and still using my flower pot (showerhead) daily.
I'm still flower only so all the discussion of concentrates is a bit over my head!

If you have it readily available, and you get a chance to use a WA or VROD, I would give it a shot. I’m really enjoying twaxing with high THC flower and a 2:1 CBD to THC wax. Never really used concentrates prior, and I’m absolutely loving it just a couple weeks in. Really allows you to dial-in your medication and effects.

@chaos_theory, I understand using the e-nail/pid that you already have. But this is the first I’m hearing of “upgrading” to the Auber. What are the main benefits that you’re seeing over the NewVape controller? Faster heat up time, more stable temperature?

@SonSzu, it wasn't too bad to make actually, its two pencils with a wide thin popsicle stick for the top and bottom. The sticks are the ones my wife had for applying face masks, so they are much wider but thinner than a regular popsicle stick and worked great to provide that flat base. I just tucked it in the top and spiral wound it down what I made for the base with paracord I got off Amazon. I held it initially down with rubber bands. Once I was done I used a torch to burn in the ends into the pencil and what was underneath, pushing it down with another stick. This helped to seal the ends and hold it together.

@PNWdin_diver, the main factors were quality of the controller (not to knock the original NewVape PID, it is a great controller still) which is well known in the enail community as well as the user interface. I battled many time a many with the NV PID trying to push the buttons fast enough and try to hold them down to get to my desired temp quicker without passing it. The Aubor has a really nice push knob that makes adjustments a breeze.

Performance wise, they both heat well and require a proper heat up pre-warm. The difference is the NV PID will over shoot your temp like 10 degrees and settle down to your desired versus the Aubor will gradually heat to your desired within a +/- 2-3 degrees. I think personally it does seem to hold and hone temps better but I haven't tested this directly at all; just the vape experience.

Thanks @PNWdin_diver :)
I'm in the UK so availability isn't the best (fingers crossed for recreational legalisation soon) but I do have some CBD wax so I might experiment a bit with adding that into the flower

I do wonder if concentrate are easier on the lungs?

That may depend heavily on which specific type and form of concentrates you are talking about and also on the individual.
There are very many cases of people who struggled to tolerate vaporizing flower and experienced allergy and irritation symptoms. They switched to vaporizing rosin exclusively and found that to be a perfect fix for their situation and symptoms.

I believe that as far as the various forms of concentrate go, rosin would certainly appear to be very smooth and well tolerated by most. Other forms like BHO, especially depending on production methods, maybe harsher and more irritating but I have no experience just something I have picked up.
And then there are various other forms as well like the distillates which I have no knowledge of either.

Regarding your hopes for recreational legalization in the UK I'm with you and have been watching this scene of course but I can see this dragging out quite some way from here still.

The government are just being absolute swine pigheaded flamingos over this doing everything they can to bury their heels and resist progress and justice.
There is such a strong and increasing tide of momentum pushing for legalization on all fronts and this will only get stronger and more compelling with time. But they will continue to resist until there is no other option or it seems more beneficial to change stance.

If you follow @londoncannabisclub and @ukcannabissocialclub on Instagram, you will see the daily updates, studies, press propaganda, parliament activities, public pro-legalisation statements etc.
Fingers crossed, but dont get hopes too high or expect too much for a while. 2020? Maybe more realistic for some sort of recreational law modification, but you never know there could suddenly be a faster turn of events for all we know.
Or- we could still be having this discussion in 2 years time from now.

Edit- I forgot to say that in my own experience I recently tried rosin for the first time because I have serious allergies to everything that enters my body practically any type of food you name it there is a reaction.

I'm also allergic to vaporizing cannabis flowers and it has been recommended to me so many times to switch to rosin which on paper should be the answer.
However I could not tolerate the rosin at all and had a significantly worse reaction then to the same flower itself.
But this is just my own experience and I am a total freak when it comes to these things in the majority of cases I would strongly expect cleanly produced rosin to be much better tolerated and less irritating by most.

Yep, I'm allergic to some terpenes more or the less. If these specific terp(s) are in the trates my reaction is also worse than consuming the original herb which the trate is made of. Coughing like hell and asthmatic reactions. But overall consuming - low temp - trates is much smoother for your respiratory system if professionel produced.

Did I mention that a package from NV landed here this weekend?* :brow: And that I’m picking up a @710Coils box this afternoon?** I’m embarking upon my maiden voyage aboard the VRod this evening! I don’t have a dedicated FP space atm but I’ll muddle through. I’ve got plans to build a small station to house it & my small glass stash. Having all the pieces of my “dream setup” will motivate me to get this completed. I just need to find the extra energy somewhere. ;)

I’m looking forward to the day I can press my own rosin. I’m practicing voodoo daily right now trying to win NewVape’s Tegridy20 Giveaway. Although it’s probably more press than I would ever need! As my dears @Nina & @Alexis have testified, there aren’t any sources for quality solventless extracts on our island. And even if there were, our North American brethren pioneering this tech have shown us how quickly the investment pays for itself. And I feel morally obligated to use the VRod to its fullest potential!

* echoing all that’s been said here about the beautiful finish and feel of quality of NV gear. Every piece is flawless. I got the Panhead and it looks so cool but I’m wondering why the hell didn’t I just get both bowls on BF? After actually holding the kit in my hand, now I know that I must get the Shovelhead as well.
Ah well, another opportunity to harass poor Lori. Gotta echo that too, Lori was simply amazing!

** this is the latest 710 VRod coil, I’ve heard they’re perfection and will confirm that with y’all later tonight. Shane has really put the time & effort/expense into getting this particular coil right. Thanks 710Coils!

The sovereignty is pairing so well with the vrod setup I’m beyond satisfied.
Oh and before I end this high rant :p would like to say...when first looking at everything flowerpot I was completely lost.went to flowerpot university———-> https://www.newvape.com/flowerpot/fp-faq
And learned everything :)
It’s all set up very well, laid out so you can understand if you take the time.

Woke up and turned tge controller to 725

Loaded my bowl with a nice fat scoop of some great flower

Slow draw that progressed in speed through the draw. Bowl looks done in one hit

Feel death approaching and quickly throw coil down on heat post and run out of the room

Left earths atmosphere; now on the couch ready for another nap

Oh believe me, everything is clean and ready; but you forget, I have 3 other people to keep happy and two of them are teenagers! Talk about impossible tasks... :disgust: So once everyone else is taken care of, including the dogs, then I can play catch-up with you and the rest of FPNation! Whoooo!

I found that I need to bend the coil arm down, just a tiny amount to get a solid fit without spreading the coil. When I did my fitting to the Vrod body. This is all that I ended up needing to do to make it fit as expected

You could also spread the coil a little as it will just get pushed together when the Vrod body is screwed together

Hope this helps and the latest batch of Vrod coils I have are identical to the NV coil I used to get my specs from

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week

Thanks so much for the detailed reply @Alexis
You are more than welcome, it is very nice to see another lady member here unleashing the full power of the Flowerpot. This thread ran for almost a year I think before there was any real interest from our female vapers. But you girls are surely getting in on the action. Thank you for sharing your experience, helping me to build that demographic in my mind.
