Multi-brand HEALTHY RIPS FURY

Thanks. She had it set on 400 F and seemed satisfied. She said she doesn't want to take it with her tomorrow but I'm off work so I'll have time for more experimentation of my own.

Sounds like she needs to ask Santa for her own fury 2, has she been nice? I've heard those elfs have been busy lately, and santa has been checking his lists.

Naughty or nice, I try not to judge. We could all be a little bit nicer. :leaf:

In the name of science  I did some comparisons this morning. I tried the standard mp, the bent glass mp, the bubbler 2.0 and the WPA as a mp. For our situation, the glass pieces will only get used at home, the standard mp will see the most action.

Standard mp - I love the stealth, the simplicity, the durability. The hits can have a bit of a hot side if pulled direct and fast but overall I like it.

Bent glass mp - Cooler and smoother than the standard mp, very nice. I'm a bit nervous using it, though. It looks nice and strong but I have a tendency to, um, test the durability of things.

Bubbler 2.0 - Am I using this thing correctly? The instructional link that HR sent was for the original bubbler, not 2.0. Anyway, I sucked a tiny bit of water into it, less than half an inch, so it mostly stayed inside when I inverted it to load it, only a tiny bit leaked out. I tried to keep it vertical while using it to minimize any water leaking. I tried to suck gently but I was still getting a bit of water in my mouth. Having said all that, the vapor was noticeably cooler and gentler in my throat. Overall very nice but a PITA to use, I doubt we'll use it much. Appreciate any tips or suggestions to make it simpler.

WPA as a mp - I like it! The vape seems similar to the bent glass, cooler and smoother than the standard mp, but my battery ran out on my second hit so I didn't get a full run comparison. The compact, straight design seems like it might offer more protection from bumps than the bent glass mp but glass is glass and it's all in danger when it's near me. We've got a locally blown 12" water pipe, too. It's not fancy but it's nice quality. I'm looking forward to trying the WPA with it.

I know the reviews say the battery life sucks but I'm still amazed at how fast it runs out. Maybe it's because I'm just sitting home trying it out, hitting it repeatedly. That's not what it's designed for nor is it how we'll normally use it but today is my day off work and the F2 is our new toy so I've got to play with it, right? So anyway, yeah, the battery life sucks. The vapor is very nice but it sure drops from full to low battery very quickly. More testing is definitely required. ;)

Honestly, just use the bubbler dry. Its less mess but with twice the cooling path.

Also, I go 360, 380, 400 with a screen inserted that halves the bowl, with bud from a grinder.

Don't forget that water is a good solvent...

For sure it is. But when dealing with vapes and vapor it's not a solvent of any value (or you could rinse out your bong and never need more?). It can, trap vapor that condenses when it hits the water which I think is what is going on when 'taste is lost' in the WT. The same happens in a dry WT (stuff that condenses on the wall tends to stay there) although the rate it does so is probably different.

WTs used in combustion are another matter, but we don't do that here...........

Using a WT dry is, I think, basically the same as a J hook or long stem or whip? More handy, of course.

Merry Christmas to all, and best wishes for the upcoming New Year.

My 8th grade science teacher said that water is the universal solvent.

Yep, that's the standard lesson, all right. Water will dissolve most polar substances (ones that make ions in solution) and many that are not. Table salt and sugar being good examples. But there's still that 'oil and water don't mix' (like salad dressing, milk and so on) thing. In our case, most vapor is 'oil like', it doesn't dissolve in water. Polar solvents like ISO will do a fair job, and detergents will bond to both the oil and water, but water alone is not a solvent of use to us. And good show, or WTs wouldn't do what we want?

Then there's 'King's water', Aqua Regia. A mixture of acids that will dissolve darn near anything, including Gold. Probably much closer to a universal solvent? Just the ticket for Alchemists.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aqua_regia

And then we have HF (Hydrofluoric Acid), Hydrogen Fluoride rather than Chloride in water:
https://emergency.cdc.gov/agent/hydrofluoricacid/basics/facts.asp

Stuff not only dissolves most anything but it'll eat its way through the glass bottle you're foolish enough to store it in. A tiny drop will painlessly eat through your flesh until it finds a bone to chew on. Folks hit with it (I knew one) don't usually know it. Until later...... Truly nasty, but a handy way to etch glass.

So while most stuff will dissolve in water (a mild polar solvent), the stuff of most interest to us is not on that list.

Shall we call you Professor OF? I wouldn't doubt it wouldn't be the first time. Thanks for the info, as always! Cheers. :peace:

As you wish, surely I've been called worse? An affliction of a misspent youth which I don't really have to cop to since I'm no longer paid to......

Merry Christmas, and best wishes for a safe and prosperous New Year.

@HealthyRips.com A suggestion. . .

Vapcaps almost make the perfect stem for a Fury. A nice way of loading like your own glass stems have, and with a long vapcap and mouthpiece it almost looks like a pipe. But the vapcap does not actually fit snug in the fury so I never do this.

I would love Healthy rips to offer a more robust and longer (4-5inches) and straight stem with traditional looking pipe mouthpiece design made from wood/metal. I would love to be able to use the Fury in public like a pipe, concealing the unit in my hand with the stem protruding like a pipe.

In fact, make it 109mm long and less than 14mm wide and it will fit other stashes designed to hold stems and herb ;)

Thanks @OF I'm not sure how keen I am on picking up any of the materials you mentioned and using them In my fury heating chamber. Plastic, poly, rubber. . none sound ideal to me, but I'm not too knowledgeable on melting and off gassing points of any of these.

I've considered making my own from titanium, but not bothered yet. Was just a thought for HR. A nicely designed item could add a whole different style to the device. I never really got on board with the "juice box" vibe that the bent stem creates, just like the crafty and others designed like that.

You're welcome. But I'm sorry, I failed to explain well enough. The MP suggestions were for the MP only. The cold, exposed end of the stem. The bowl area needs to be glass or SS most likely to deal with 400F. That's what Ed uses on similar stems, SS tube for the bowl end. The wood is an extension on that, pinned to the tube that makes the bowl. An all wood stem is not going to work.

Ti is worth a try, but remember any metal (including Ed's) will conduct heat away from, as well as in to, the load. With Ed you need additional heat to get the same results all glass stems deliver at lower temperature due to this.

You sure you want a Fury 2? It's whats best for people who smoke smaller amounts of bud but most normal users would want a Fierce.

I'd say that 'after reading 80% of this thread' it was a very informed choice. Far more so than most for sure. I don't share your opinion of 'most normal users', and while I'd never represent myself as normal, I think many of the features we discuss 'round here with F2 make it a very sound choice for many of us. Most perhaps. I definitely favor F2 over it's new heavier, bigger brother. A personal call, for sure.

Another possible issue for the OP is access. AFAIK nobody in the EU is selling FIERCE as yet?

BTW we don't 'use the S word' (smoke) around here. Notice the Forum name? Smoking is kinda taboo. We vape, and are kinda proud of it.

Christmas regards to all.

I've been following this thread pretty much since day one. I'm an MMJ user who microdoses flower mostly. The dose pods, positive reviews, company involvement in this thread and the price have me wanting the Fury 2 as my first vape. I hope to have a fury 2 in my mits by the end of the year.

First off, howdy, welcome to the Forum (finally....). Good folk and good information as you've no doubt discovered.

I predict you're about to be rewarded for your research. And if you've ordered from either HR directly of PIU it won't be long at all. Both have reputations for extremely fast, trouble free shipping.

You'll no doubt spend a lot of time experimenting, but as a starting point for a quick hit or two I suggest preheating the F2, letting it heat soak (half a minute, even a full minute?) so the oven itself is well heated, then drop in the capsule and let it heat soak an additional 30 seconds or so. Then take your hit or two, remove the MP and immediately dump the capsule (on something fairly heat proof......don't use you hand....). Full potency hits from the first.

It works well for me in that mode, might not for the next fellow, but I recommend it as an experiment at least.

Merry Christmas to one and all, and the ones they hold dear. And best wishes for a healthy and prosperous New Year for us all.
