CBD definitely has its uses as medicament. I use (vape, dab or ingest) pure CBD and CBD (THC mostly under 0.8%) strains for added entourage effect. A variety of CBD strains is needed.
For me it seems to affect inflammatory pain long term. It also affects anxiety and mental imbalances, can be a bit sedative depending on the strain.
Some THC strains work even better against anxiety (and pain anyway).
I heard from reputable sources that it helps for or against benzodiazepine withdrawal. It works against psychosis according to studies.

It is a welcome addition to the cannabis menu and should be available to everyone, everywhere.

I think I will watch further into CBD creams (and tinctures, because of my lung) after reading some of the statements above.
Hope I can find cheap small volume tester creams.

That candida strain (wow, why would they name it that?) sounds very much like AC/DC which was around 0.75% THC and 16-18% CBD. This is the problem with some of these strains, you never know exactly which phenotype it will throw (here's for stable genetics and seed, not just clones)... most cannatonic I've used has been around 4% THC and 16% CBD.

as for 'barely any THC', the legal definition of hemp is cannabis with ≤ 0.3% THC, so you're already incredibly close. between the modulation of the small amount of THC by the CBD, and the very small amount to begin with, you wouldn't notice any impairment.

@MinnBobber is right, CBD in concentrate or isolate form can be used in a number of ways.
So that's a nice alternative.

What are the typical effective dosages you see? I normally tried to inhale near pure CBD or ate small amounts with mixed small effects. Now I ate a bigger amount, maybe 100mg and the effects were significant for a while.
Is there something like a threshold value?
I know 1 experiment is no experiment.

Dosage is wildly variable from individual to individual.
Everyone's biochemistry is different enough, we react differently.
#1 form of medicine
#2 ingestion method
#3 BMI (your size is a variable)
#4 how well you absorb and process the drugs (dependent upon digestive enzymes, hydrochloric acid levels, or your ability to inhale large amounts of vape, or if you can handle hi potency tinctures sublingually

Depending on the form, I've seen people respond to as little as 30mg of CBD incredibly well.
Some use the edible oils that they are loosely calling tinctures (they are not technically), these are infused oils that contain CBD in a MCT coconut base oil. My 92 y.o. father takes 210mg at night and it helps his BPH immensely. Instead of 75 min of sleep in between getting up to pee, it's now 4 hours. That's a win!

So you're going to have to experiment with what form you'll use and how you'll use it.
Crystalline CBD isolate has never worked for me orally/sublingually, but vaped, it's fine.

I'd play around with it a bit start wit 20mg, just for example say a capsule orally, wait a couple hours see how that made you feel, try 40 mg, see how that feels, but give it plenty of time each time so you know you've sensed a difference at some point. I've done doses as high as 500-600mg (which can actually be helpful for someone who's done WAY too much THC).

Good luck.

I combine 1.5 grams of CBD Isolate with 13.5ml of mct oil, this gives a dosage of 5mg per drop.
Subliminally 4-6 drops work for me!
While "below the threshold of consciousness" works well in the sentence, I suspect he means under the tongue. (Sublingually) The cool part is, my browser's spell check suggests the word used even when I spell my word correctly.

Sublingually! lol

Although, seeing someone do that Subliminally would be...something :tinfoil:

awesome new info on how we transfer anandamide to others via consciousness... when we peacefully Vibe another person with our honest intent their endocannabinoid system instantly kicks in and produces more anandamide for the vibed person to feel more calm and peaceful. we are subliminally activating their endocannabinoid tone like a tuning fork LOL

You know how canines greet each other and calm themselves with a nice big sleepy yawn? Is that self-triggering serotonin?

Back to OT, CBD isolate, no matter the delivery, at the effective dose makes me hella cranky when it wears off until I dose more THC. At first it even triggered headaches. Come downs from THC flower or concentrates do not. So I tried vaping a 1:1 strain of flower and same prob. So I must time things. But my tolerance to THC has stabilized as LOW with the daily addition of CBD in some form. Over a year of 3 per day doses 10mg THC and no real tolerance increase. It got up there for awhile when I went through a cart of distillate, but within days of adding CBD to make the day 1:2, I noticed increased effectiveness of my combined use as an anti-inflammatory and psychoactive. Dose timing is key because I need the bit of mental raciness from the Sativas.

CBD products are legal here in MN but what about CBD flowers? And in other states?
Would CBD flowers in a tamperproof container, certified to have less than the 0.3% THC threshold be legal?

Law enforcement is used to the CBD oils/tinctures/gummies/creams, but would CBD flowers be legal?

I think that the answer to that would be "technically, yes, but at your own risk".

Tried swallowing 150mg of 20:1 CBD:THC oil in a cap with lecithin, which I hadn't tried before. That works out to ~100mg of CBD, with many minor cannabinoids, and ~5mg of THC.

The main effect: visual sharpening, with a light anxiety suppression. It's a better quality effect than a benzo, but weaker than 0.25 mg of Xanax. There's a slight headache, more of a tightness behind the temples and in the neck. The familiar visual sharpening I attribute to the mini-dose of THC. As to pain relief, nothing I can detect. I have a low tolerance, I can feel the 5mg of THC, a 3:2 THC:CBD Beboe pastille is very nice, but for me the CBD is dubious, especially with that neck tightness. A smaller dose? Meh.

The CBD does its little something, and in the presence of the non-THC cannabinoids might well work like this 20:1 I tried. There's a huge variation in response, but I would extrapolate to expecting that 100mg of pure CBD, with no additional cannabinoids for the "entourage effect", would be bordering on placebo territory.

There's another issue, which is that pure CBD has a bell-shaped response curve, meaning that too much is ineffective, just like too little. That was seen e.g. when treating stage fright with pure CBD. Good luck hitting that ideal dose - that's why it was considered inactive for decades. And that's what the full cannabinoid entourage, even in tiny amounts, supposedly corrects. CBD then apparently acquires a normal rising dose/response curve -- but also an undebatable Schedule I tag.

When GW recently got FDA approval for pure CBD in epileptic children it's dosed at several hundred mg, which is unfortunately to be expected without the helper cannabinoids. They report side effects, including liver problems, at those dosages, loss of appetite, tiredness, depression. And the price they charge for it as Epidiolex is high. They say $32,000 a year, and they picked that "in line with other branded antiepileptic drugs used to treat these intractable conditions.” In other words, what the market will bear.

CBD is a fad, it's generally insanely priced. And all the "Hemp Oil" that's so widely advertised has no significant CBD content. Even most "therapeutic CBD" in dispensaries is shaky. Do the math. If a 30ml bottle contains 100mg, you'd need to drink it all at one sitting. $heesh.

The argument that industrial hemp accumulates toxins and thus cannot be used to make safe CBD is absurd. If you purify CBD from any source, it's the same single molecule. When they sell pure CBD, there's even no way to determine its origin. For the entourage effect, you could add a bit of cannabinoids from a low grade "medical cannabis" trim. That's not very expensive. We should expect CBD prices to drop. And hopefully these fake "Hemp oils" with all the glowing reviews will go away.

There are other bona fide benefits I'm not looking at tonight, including anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects. I might dream of dragons or not have to get up to piss, but this is the quick subjective report.

INGESTIONS TIPS FOR CBD TINCTURE/OIL??

I've been getting more into CBD as it is some mighty miraculous stuff! Would much prefer such medicine/health supplement
with THC in many ratios BUT not legal.
I assist several and CBD seems to work on 80% of them----for just about any injury/ailment/age adjustment :) or supplement.
Found a clean and potent strong tincture made from hemp oil, avocado oil, coconut oil but the taste----yuck x10 and once I connected "that taste" and the smell---I can now smell it in small quantities, unfortunately.

--------- Any tips for ways to get this horrible tasting great med ingested and masking the taste? What's easy and effective?

Tonight I did grape juice shot.... .25 ml tincture and a shot of grape juice. Give it a B+
Mixed in hot cocoa was pretty decent taste BUT the heat makes the CBD tincture into a "aromatic cloud"...gag
The smell is cranked way up :(

Happy to hear what has worked/hasn't worked.

Intended to take this liquid sublingually (under the tongue and hold) but too nasty for that.

could you add a few drops of orange oil or lemon oil or black pepper oil to it? those essential oils would increase bioavailability and make it possibly more palatable for you ... you may need to constitute them into a few drops of grain alcohol to get @ consistency and to help them meld into the oil medium

how about a clean and potent MCT oil 'tincture'? One that has hardly any taste at all?
Full Spectrum Oil or capsules from FullyActivated.net (comes with a compliment of non-psychoactive cannabinoids).
if I was going to add something to bump the CBD up a bit, I'd add BCP (beta-caryllophene).

This oil you can hold in your mouth for quite some time, although I'm still unconvinced of how much sublingual absorption is taking place with most of these oils.
A nano-emulsion I could understand, but IMHO, with the 'tincture' I think you're still getting more action from what's being converted in your liver after you swallow.

I bought some pure CBD with 10% added terpenes. Looked like some CBD had evaporated.
I did not like the terpenes at all. Much too strong and not well balanced, not cannabis derived anyway.
So i just added water into the little container and put it on my heating and let the aromatherapy work.
When the water had evaporated, quite some of the terpenes had diminished. Repeating possible.
One "strain" did taste ok, but not like cannabis to me after that treatment.

One had a terpene still left, that made me cough and I did not like at all. So I added a little olive oil put it on the heating again and the CBD dissolved easy within a day or so. It still does not taste nice, but I can ingest it like that.

yup, non-cannabis derived terpenes have offended a number of folks.
artificial/fruity flavors widely reported.
