best way to store different strains in same CV jar?

i usually buy small amounts and my CV jar is more than enough in size,
so i end up having a few strains inside, each in it's own (opened) little nylon bag.
not sure that's good enough to keep the herbs in contact with the Boveda pack..
perhaps you solved this in another way (little net bags?)
any other suggestions?
tnx.

I love my JyARZ that @JyARz makes. The Satchmo is big enough for a Boveda humidity pack and small amounts of separate strains.

I just loosely wrap in aluminum foil and try to keep strains similar so they don't "inter-mix" their tastes too much.
For example, I might put a strain with blueberry in with a grape strain.

The whole container is at 62% so it all the flowers do go to 62%. The foil wrap does not prevent the humidifying it and
I do leave one side slightly open.

hmm.. foil.. good idea. i wonder what differences are between foil and a simple plastic bag..

between foil and a simple plastic bag..

Just me, but I would never ever use a plastic bag, between leaching chems and static electricity grabbing your precious flowers and holding them hostage :)

I hate getting any cannabis in plastic and if so, get it transferred to something else ASAP.

That's why I love the JyARZ with glass liner and totally smellproof---different sizes for different storage needs. No big big JyARZ but big sizes are cost prohibitive---they'd just have to cost too much and big storage vessels can usually be really simple and basic and cheap for their size.

shit, i better change that.. but i want something convenient that will enable me to write the names..
.................................................
I hear ya.
I write the names on a small piece of paper and tape it to the JyARZ.
You can also get close with:
Banana OG in green unripe colored JyARZ.
Grape Ape in purple.
Tangie is orange etc

I Use CVaults- I have been using the Postit notes on a roll to label, but think you can use dry erase too. For weekly amonuts, I found UV resistant glass jars, and label stickers on the top of each.
*I only store one strain at a time in the Vault, or weekly jar.

I'm pretty sure that as long as you don't expose a plastic to solvents or high temps you won't experience any chemical leaching.

But yeah, jyarz are amazing, I have 8 satchmos that I use for my eigths + a 58% boveda pack. Can usually fit a quarter in too but I prefer more variety inin vaporizables, this way I get to try more cannabis more frequently :brow:

I recommend getting a label maker, they're great for around the house but especially so for cannabis labels. I include the name, percent TAC, indica/sativa/hybrid, packaging date, and source of my medical shit. In used to color code with orange being sativa, green being sativa hybrid, black being indica hybrid, and blue for indica, but availability trounces organization so I just use whatever color is available.

Now that the jyarz chicos have silicone inserts instead of glass I use em for my concentrates. I'll post pics when I get home!

I also have a small cannavault for storing all of my accumulating boveda packs.

ok. and it's not that i'm storing stuff for months.
i usually open my CV once a day.
and the herbs quantities last me 1-2 months.

but i would consider buying 4 very small dedicated jars.
if you use Sachmo, how do you use the Boveda?

I have these small boveda packs that came with my MMJ. Fits perfectly, sometimes I partition the weed with it if the buds are small.

I want to try the boveda packs, but here is what I do:
  • 4oz canning jars, they need the separate lid like this
  • an air pump or vacuum sealer like this
  • and lastly this to seal the jars (i bought the dual pack just in case i ever want to use large mason jars)
It's not a true vacuum but it does pull air out and seal the jar. I think this and a boveda would really help the herb keep for a very long time. My fun game is which jar "pops" is the one that I will use for the day! I say it's not a true vacuum because the jar lid does eventually pop back.

p.s. the jars can be purchased much cheaper at the local store vs online.

Has anyone tried herbguard? I noticed it on Amazon but don't know much about it.

I use small miron screwtop black jars. Plus a couple of jyarz.

(don't pay attention to the sticker)
and now when my strains separated i can finally smell different aromas.. mmmm nice.
and each with it's own 1g Boveda pack it's perfect (for MY very humble amounts).
