Usage

hot drop method:

select temperature (150degC to 200degC on display is a good range), double click to enter cruise mode, the coil instantly gets to temperature. start inhaling and simultaneously apply full melt concentrate to the coil. stop applying and inhaling at any point.
alternatively the button can be pressed on demand while applying concentrate to the coil.

cold pre-loading method :

put some concentrate on the coil. select temperature, start inhaling and hold down the fire button for on-demand mode or double click for cruise control.

self cleaning:

use the warmup function as self cleaning mode, it will heat the coil to high temperature to burn off any residue. After 10 seconds it will switch back to the set temperature ready for the next round.

coil change:

the coil can last a very long time, depending on purity of concentrates and personal preference.

setting up a new coil is a bit more involved but should be easy with the right guide.
currently a small number of units is on their delivery to testers. after we have a bit more input for the manual and general operational tips they get listed on the store.

price point: ~$50

hope you like :D

Good one ,FJ ! I really like the style of this one . Actually I got figured out something similar but have wrapped the coil around a small ceramic cup from an oil atomizer. Will post a pic a bit later as my camera charges.
Btw it really reminds me of the Verdampfer concentrate vaporizer ( i cannot remember the exact name). That one had the airflow from above.

Haha here is my hilarious creation,no where near the class of FJs but it freaking works.. and it is not probably as leaky as the coil. I use u-shape curve from Simax 25cm tube, work really well.
Btw here is the old Verdampfer oil dome thread, sadly all photos and videos are down. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-hoover-the-oil-dôme.8725/
But honestly not much to sorry about FJs Straw totally beats its design, beings so small sleek and also being abe to run in TC mod !!
WoThis ceramic cup concept would probably make a really nice oil atomizer if it can be acomodated inside.Kind of like the Sai buckets .

hehehe...we are almost back to hot knives and a straw! ;-)

Cheers
indeed, precise, repeatable, ready in 2 seconds, temperature controlled hot knives that also clean themselves :D

nice! i opted away from the bucket idea as i found that oil is very effectively vaporized by the coil, no need to introduce a location where the oil can pool. dont like cleaning concentrate stuff out, thats where self cleaning mode comes into play. also i like proper air flow around where the vaporization process is taking place.

there is no leaking on the straw if you apply concentrate continuously at the speed the coil can vaporize (the higher the temp, the faster obviously). also the coil reacts to what is applied and boosts more as the concentrate is applied as well as if draw speed is increased. it just eats it up, id say its quite an efficient way to use concentrates.
there is also the possibility to build other coils on the deck that can vaporizer more quickly, especially in dual coil configuration :science::whoa:

found a video of the verdamper oil attachment, yes similar concept (as are many many coil based 510 attachments) but not temp controlled. i have had really underwhelming or burnt sessions with wattage mode and cannot recommend it at all for this small coil. maybe if there is more mass like in the verdamper setup the coil does not cool down by applying concentrate.
the temp control is adjusting on its own to when concentrate is applied by trying to keep to coil at a certain resistance/temperature all the time, independent on amount of concentrate added or air movement.

if anyone is interested in testing this thing prior to its launch on the store, contact me. have a good introduction price on them at the moment :D

I really was just pulling your leg...but yes, simple and direct.

Very cool!

Very novice when it comes to concentrates so here comes a very novice question(s)...

Will this only work on rigs that take a female nail? Obviously the hole is a fixed size.

What keeps it from sliding down the rig? I’m not grasping how you keep a space between the coil and the glass below.

Would it work just as well with an angled downstem?

Sorry i’m being annoying!

yes the hole is a fixed size and takes a 10mm OD glass tube. currently there is a piece of silicone tubing outside of the glass tube, acting as a 14mm male adapter. the accepting piece needs to be 14mm female. i am currently looking into proper joints with glass 10mm tube.
there is another piece of silicone tubing right underneath the straw that stops it from sliding further down, so that there is a gap between glass and coil, which prevents concentrate from just melting and running down into the glass tube.
yes the orientation is not really important, the coil holds a certain amount of oil without letting it drip off.

not annoying, dont worry. keep the questions coming!

This is my next purchase.

I like the idea of concentrates applied directly on the hot coil versus appling concentrate onto a cold coil, then heating it up like most of the 510 based coil platforms.

I love the fact it is designed to attach to my existing glass collection.

Well done.

Really enjoying my Straw. Just got a VROD and the Straw is my go to for quick attitude adjustments. No heat up time, it is instantly ready. I cannot remember how to convert C to F, so I have been using 100 C and the flavor is fantastic. Thank you FJ for letting me be a part of the action. Another winner!

Got mine too and my first Lamart's vape!

Initially I got some issues to set it correctly cause I used it in SS TC mode and temp was too low, FJ told me to use a 180 TCR number at 320-390°F, it's better but too hot for my liking so I use 300-320 but can see myself to set it lower.

Personnaly I'm thinking a carb cap will improve a lot the Straw's experience especially at low temp in order to increase the vapor to air ratio, FJ is working on that actually!

Nobody else took the plunge?

Now I'm digging the Straw! I use a 195 TCR and the lower temp my small Vaporesso Target Mini allowed at 140°C and I got some very nice dabs.

It's so convenient to use and definitively the faster to get the job done. I paired mine with my D020 àla @funkyjunky , it's a very compact setup too. It might be nice to find a more universal way to connect it to a water tool, I would like to be able to pair it with my (fake) Toro micro which is 14mm male...

For me it's a game changer even if I believe the "connoisseurs" here around will find the taste not comparable to a quartz banger correctly heated, for me it's good enough even if I'll try to tweak the TCR until I can lower the coil's temp for a better taste.

Finally I agree the Strawn is already very good without a carbcap but, if we can lower the temp, a carbcap might be a good idea. To lower the temp can I assume the higher the TCR is the lower is the coil's temp? I ask cause, as i mentionned before, I can't use lower temp than 140°C on my mod, so I'll try to increase the TCR 5 by 5 until I can adjust the T° better... Did you tried that @funkyjunky ? I think it's possible since it was running at very low temp using the stock SS TC mode (too low in fact)...

Yes, a game changer, a no-brainer and a winner!

ps: it would be nice to perfect the design though... even if I appreciate how crude it is in another hand!

@PPN Glad you dig the straw. I dont have one,but i have fashioned a similar concept fueled with the FJ software and it kicks as.. The fuck it even works with a small quartz banger if you wrap it around ... Dont you have a mod capable to run the dedicated software ,it is the real game changer IMO.
Also you should definetly try the TUBOx , it is truely revolutionary in terms of performance..

Here is my straw setup. tubo firmware flashed onto an evic basic with cruise control (160°C, 0.293Ω, 60w). I prefer the hot drop method.

Simple. Fast. Clean. Efficient (power wise and with my concentrates). I haven't taken the straw off my glass piece, since I put it on. This is my first product from lamart.ch and I am very pleased with the entire experience. Thank you for the opportunity and excellent work, @funkyjunky

Hi, I'm planning to enlarge the hole in the wood deck to fit directly on a 14mm male glass joint!

My favourite rig for dabbing is a fake Toro micro with a 14mm male joint, I will give it a try very soon... The Straw seems to please a lot to my friends, a very fun vape to share!

Ha-ha that would be interesting. One thing less to brake if you remove the glass straw off the concept.
