The Lotus Vaporizer

48 hours and countless sessions later. Still perfectly in love. Took it to the edge, but did not combust yet. And I really tried. ;) But one thing is for sure: The size of the torch flame is crucial for a good experience. If the flame length is right, then everything else is just pure pleasure.

Absolutely, I quickly discovered that I like to rip through stem and take it easy n chill with the J hook. Loving the J hook a lot more than I thought I would, I really appreciate the feeling of the heat coming through in my hand, brings another dimension of information as you vape up all that goodness..

Dear Ladies, Gentlemen & Undefined - the eagle has landed!

Short version:
I am in heaven. If you do not own a Lotus yet, get a Lotus. Now.

Longer version:
It's all here. The J-Hook, the black aluminum stem, the Hi-Temp Cap, the WPA, the big jet lighter.
Smooth and fast shipment by Vapefiend.co.uk. Great build quality, everything feels nice & sturdy.

I half packed my first bowl with the aluminum stem and started with a pre-heat of 3 seconds with a following slow draw of around 8 seconds. Very, very tasty - but whispy - cloud. Liked it, but honestly expected a bit more vapor. But I used a small jet lighter that was randomly laying around here and not the one that came with the Lotus. Instantly felt nicely lit and couldn't wait to give it another try.

Next round with the included lighter and - BOY! What a nice thick cloud of tasty vapor! The flame with that lighter was bigger than the one I tried before. I was absolutely sure by the looks that I must had combusted. But no - nice and evenly light-brown ABV. No charring. Yummy.

Then I tried the WPA with a water tool (dry) and later on with the J-Hook. Wonderful experience. I especially liked the J-Hook round. I am so incredibly high right now. The Lotus obviously can take you quite far with moderate amounts of material and for me, as a Sticky Brick, Vapman, Vapcap & Vaponic owner, there was no learning curve. It worked well each and every time, right from the beginning.

So - I am not only high as f*ck right now, I am also utterly bewildered that I did not buy this device way earlier. I am deeply impressed. Thanks to @Max Jitter! What a wonderful invention. And thanks to Mephistopheles - you still know who you are - for transferring your VAS over to me. It was worth it.

Another round, fun ahead! Love at first sight, that seldom happens to me. :)

Welcome to the club! The Lotus should be in the quiver of any self respecting vape enthusiast!.

Just took a few nice rips from my black cap lotus. The flavor from this vape is incredible! I use it with a j-hook most of the time, such a nice experience.

O man, I also loving the J-hook with the Lotus!
I kind of feel classy with it
Would like having more J-hooks, for example in different glass colors!
Are there any?
And is there something like a stand for the J-hook? That would be nice...

You could try the vaporscope that is sold on Lotus site. I believe it is a new item and it's cool as fuck! I want one

Indeed, the vapor scope seems to be the youngest/ newest addition That Max has released.( A month or so out now?) Pertaining to the J-Hook, I remember when that mod/option started being discussed here on FC. I have not personally tried it, but that method had a great following at least for a little while- I'm thinking I will probably get a vaporscope no later than Black Friday.

The VaporScope stem is very nice — don't know if you saw my review — and it's also a great match for a GrassHopper. As far as j-hooks go, I'd like to find one with a bit more of a drop down so I can center my flame on the vapor cap more accurately.

Just enjoying my Lotus (J-Hook with WPA this time*) after a long and annoying day.
Still perfectly in love! :)

*) I prefer the Aluminum stem in general, but it's funny to use the J-Hook from time to time.

How does the Lotus compare to my other convection vapes (I have a Lil Bud, a Tubo X, and a Splinter)?

I read something a few pages back about draw resistance. How does the Lotus draw compare? Is it pretty closed like a Solo or Vapcap? Do you typically mouth or lung pull?

I usually start with mouth pulls, but once it gets going I can do either. * This is with the long aluminum stem. I hope others using other methods will weigh in.

Lotus is amazing! But I only use it with the j hook.
The aluminum piece leaves some taste to my mouth but, most importantly, the vapor is so smooth that I can combust pretty easily not having the visual information of the j hook.
The sticky brick is my dd but when I want a real pure taste I get the Lotus!

@bossman I have the j hook and find very little draw resistance at all. Definitely a ripper Vape and I have never even considered a cigar puff technique. Maybe I should try it...

I have a tubo and a Milana and my impression was that it is very similar to the Milana in Vape signature. Plus maybe not as open as Milana but pretty free flowing.

So i gave the lotus a spin just now and must say that there is more draw restriction than i had remembered. Still too free flowing for me to get any more than a whisper of vapor from a mouth puff technique (yeah, i gave it a go, definitely not for me with this vape)

It's nowhere near milaana or tubo so i tried it against some other vapes.

Lotus with J hook Draw restriction is almost equal to mflb, FW3, and an open carb vapcap (gen 2 woody, m17 and gen 1 ti vong tested)

It's interesting how similar the draw restriction of all these vapes are, which i had never noticed until trying side by, despite years of use. 4 different heating technologies but still an 'optimal' or maybe 'preferred' draw rate used by different creators... at least for this small sample of portable vapes.

I think the flavor is exceptional with the Lotus. I use a j-hook with it (not the new one) and it works really well.
My only issue with the Lotus is that my weed seems to disappear much more quickly as opposed to using my log vape.

The draw restriction, for me, is about right. Love how easy it is to use, at least once you get the hang of it.

I am so befuddled by those of you who love J-hooks... I look at you all like cat people. I just do not understand any of you. :hmm::doh:

I hate any glass that does not have a base. Not acceptable to dump all the material into the top of my lotus cap every time I put it on the table. There are so much better pieces! I find the stock stems are far more flavorful and also functional in that they don't dump my material into the top.

Visual feedback is unnecessary with experience. You can taste the temp with a developed pallet and a shorter air path. You'll never need a hook again!

I combust when I use anything other than the aluminum stem.
jhooks, or w the WP attachment. But I love my lotus, I do need a better flame.
Any recs?

That got me laughing. I am certainly no cat person (even more having recently lived with one) but i know what you mean. All those drawbacks you listed, plus add cleaning difficulty for j kooks, i completely agree.

But...they're fun. And for some vapes, visual feedback really helps even for expererienced users. I only get the j hook out occasionally, and for certain vapes.

Edit.
@hafalump a lighter with a curved neck like the jobon one that lotus sells are easier to use as they can be tilted over more before gravity takes your gas

I've never noticed this to be a problem. The cap keeps the j-hook at an angle which prevents the weed from dumping into the top.

I am very interested in this vape. I am wondering if it will be a good vapcap replacement for me. I find the vapor too harsh even using water with my vapcaps.

Anyone feel the vapor from the Lotus is less harsh than from a Ti vapcap?

I dont find the VC harsh but I think the Lotus has better flavor. Also, the Lotus is a perfect vape to use with a water piece. That should reduce the harshness. Of course, you can use a VC through water as well. I normally dont use water with my Omni VC, but I do with my NonaVong. I think a water piece might be a good investment for you.
