Boundless Tera

I didn't guess, I read the instruction manual, the port is for charging.:myday:
I agree the port IS for charging but I have never used it for that. I have a dedicated smart charger for all my 18650 vapes. Ive always heard they are faster so that important to me. I think most who have multiple 18650 vapes take this approach.

I got the new Nitecore SC4 to replace my worn out Xtar and I have a magnetic USB cable coming so every time I sit my Tera down it will start charging, Tera is a power pig and I get sick of swapping my vt6 and Hg2 out with the Tera's batteries, again, a 3 year warranty and a book that says to use it. I still overcharge my 18650 batteries by charging them in my OG Air too, I like the convenience.:tup:

In relation to the batteries - I agree it's a power hog. I churn through the batteries that came it in about 6 sessions at 190-200. The (supposedly) genuine HG2s I bought only last 4 sessions, which I thought was strange. The seller offered to replace them.

She heats up fast though I love the power

Not being from Planet America my choices are slim, so far I have had only good items from this ebay seller;
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-18...var=571942515450&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
AU$20 a pair of VT6 Sony batteries that hold more mAh than the stock batteries (so my Nitecore SC4 says). I also purchased a single one from them 6 months ago that is still going strong. My old Xtar said it pumped just over 3000mah into it from dead flat once(I know you shouldn't run them flat, but life happens)

Washed the black silicone boots and translucent o-rings in 99.0% Iso for 1 minute, then rinsed with hot water followed by a white vinegar and bicarb wash, another hot watwr rinse and left in the sun with a fan blowing on them has finally kicked the smell.:tup:
I have also swapped the bottom of bowl screen for a S&B plenty reducer botton fine mesh screen for a better interference fit that does not keep falling out and also stops smaller debris from entering the heater.
It reminds me of the Plenty in a few areas, especially the draw and blue vapor, hits nice and hard flat out on a bong.:tup:

@LesPlenty

I missed this post. Cool! You got rid of the smell!

Can you please detail your vinegar and bicarb ratio mix? I'd like to do the same.

I received my replacement Tera earlier in the week but have not had a chance to clean or defunkify it

How long did you leave it out in the sun to air out?

So thank you @Boundless Vape Technology who stepped up and are making thinks right with my Tera. Say what you will about the issues, but they have dealt with them fairly.

I plan on having a look and seeing if I can determine the cause of the LCD issue - I will report back.

@LesPlenty - thanks for the link. I paid around that for my LGs - definitely didn't cheap out and figured I was buying genuine given my previous history with the seller.

Coffee mug half full of white vinegar, let soak for a minute then stir in a tablespoon of bi carb until it stops frothing then rinse thoroughly with hot water for 5 minutes, I then left sitting in the sun with a fan blowing on it for about 5 hours, no smell at all after that.:tup:
@fattyboombatty I am glad you will get a replacement as this vape is very enjoyable, even without any mods.:tup:

Edit; My new VT6 batteries did 15x5 minute sessions back to back at max temperature(220C) and got through 7 bowls (3 heat cycles for the first bowl and then 2 each after that.)

@LesPlenty

I fogot to ask you about the screen replacement...

About the S&B plenty reducer botton fine mesh screen you used for the bottom of the bowl... did it fit without any modification?

I have determined 100% that the funky smell/taste was coming from the swivel mouth piece.

Using the WPA as a stem stops the smell/taste issues, but the metal gets HOT.

I put a dry vapor cooler 14mm on the WPA and bye bye bad tastes.

This makes the vape usable at home, but I wanted the Tera (and the OG CFV for that matter) as an out and about "self-contained" unit.

Not sure whether this interests you or not but I get some great flavour with the mighty/crafty easy flow (glass) mouthpiece. I stick it in the hole instead of the og plastic tera mouthpiece. It fits fairly snug. On the odd occasion when the unit is hot and there's a bit of buildup the glass starts to creep out of the hole but that's my favourite way to use the Tera. The mighty/crafty plastic end also fits quite well but with glass as mentioned above its a winner for me.

I had that similar easy flow mouthpiece on my Boundless CF/x and it kept popping out too. The final time a shard of glass broke off, I found this out when I picked it up and slashed my finger wide open.:tup:
I find Ed's TNT new long stem is also a great flavor saver, just not that compact, worth the extra length IMO as I can hit it at max temp for a quick extraction if needed.

This worked well. This plus the Tera exchange to another less funky one. I left the gaskets out in the direct sun on a very dry day all day. It sucked all the funk right out. Probably could do it with an oven too. Low heat for 8+ hours.

Thanks!

My Tera's batteries just went for 13x5 minute sessions back to back at max temperature on a bong. (FC-Rattle Can).
I actually had one short break when using the Sony VT6 batteries after the 12th session so they may have gone 1 extra (16) if done truly back to back.
The LG HG2's next.:tup:

@LesPlenty are you actually vaping 15 bowls back-to-back or heating the Tera for one 5 minute session after the next without weed?

I don't waste power, only when new do I run a vape empty(or after a deep clean), I would not recommend testing the way I do, not unless you are like me and love chuckin' a whitey. :tup:

With the VT6 batteries, the first bowl went 3x5 minute and the next 6 bowls were 2x5 mins each, I actually had a 5-10 minute break after the 12th cycle to have a little lie down on the cool tiles(even though it was cold) then went back for the last 3.
The Tera battery test followed the same pattern but no lie down/rest for the 13 x5 minute seshes, I did have a shower before the missus got home to straighten up a bit though.:evil:

I am vaping my own grown and cured Incredible Bulk(this was 10 months old/cured to 62%, no Boveda good gear)
So, yes, every bowl was full and at 220 C (max temp) and I loved it, the Tera is great for micro dosing, there have even been a couple of nights I did not need my Plenty before bed I was so fucked up, I mean medicated:rofl:
