Full convection portable

It’s that time of year again time for a new vape :) Christmas gift to myself.

I’ll list my vapes I have right now
-Volcano
-Davinci IQ
-Dynavap M
-Mighty
-extreme Q

I want to add to my collection a portable full convention vape. I would prefer it to be not prone to breaking like glass for example. I will list my prefer needs and maybe the community can chime in.

-portable

-full convection session/or on demand

-long battery life or replaceable bat

-preferable no glass it’s prone to break

-nice balance with flavour and vapor production they are both important to me

-it’s ok if the vapour is a little warm but I don’t like heat like you were smoking.
The heat from a DynaVap is at the most the most I would like. Lol at that statement.

-I would invest in a great product I’m a true believer in you get what you pay for

Thank you for your time hope everything was legible, can’t wait for your thoughts.

IMO hot vapor and portable convection vapes go hand in hand. And you can add battery murder to that list too. FWIW the Mighty seems to still come out on top in these type of threads all the time despite not being pure convection.

Probably check the Tubo and Healthy Rips vapes as they are bound to get mentioned.

Ghost MV1 will probably get mentioned too but the silicone coated air path is a big enough turn off for me...

If your talking about silicone taste
I don’t know anyone, including myself, complain about the medical grade silicone they use.

@started@52 : I stopped reading the Ghost thread when people started reporting what I feared when I saw all the silicone on the pictures, it does have a noticeable smell/taste. There are definitely several reports out there.

Besides, I can smell silicone in all vapes I got that have some, it would be a miracle if I couldn't smell the Ghost one seeing how many they put inside. But this forum has proven times and times that humans have a wide variation of smell sensitivity, I'm pretty sure a lot of people including you will not smell/taste it.

To the OP: if you didn't have that "no glass" requirement I would recommend a lot of models I like. If you are very patient and can afford to wait in exchange for a piece of art, I would advise you to get in line to get a Nomad. It's the sexiest vape I've ever seen, and since you can customize it when you order, it's bound to be your very personal and beloved snow flake! (it also works damn well)

If you are a bit tech savvy and like to tweak things, check the StemPod also. It's a nice base to build on in 510 attachment form. Alternatively there are versions of "the Project" with no glass (the OG and the Eraser) but @Pipes is not much into it at the moment, too many induction heater orders!

I love my Silly Kone whips, really.
Their cooler on my throat and they allowed me to learn how everything works as far as #'s
on my mod while vaping & watching how air flow dynamics works.
Once a week I put the whips in my vegetable steamer (autoclave) & then run hot soapy water with this long medium stiff brush thru , they last me months smelling new & feeling supple for pennies. If you don't get good quality, you have to toss them every two weeks, walls too thin, can't autoclave them long enough to clean thoroughly.

Then you simply have not read that story from it's beginning.

I'm not gonna go down that rabbit hole as its technically taboo here but I think you would be hard pressed to find "medical grade silicone" being used in any actual medical device that is being repeatedly subjected to the temperatures found in the Ghost MV1.

Hmmmm... now I didn't know that.
Is it that much more expensive to add "medical grade silicone" as a standard or an upgrade option.

A vote for the Ghost MV-1. It really packs a punch, great flavor with no silicone taste (for me and those that I know with MV-1s/ those that tried mine). It also has a very effective cooling system which makes for really cool and smooth vapor, without the need for a water bubbler. Battery is replaceable and long lasting. Super quick heatup time.

The nomad sounds actually amazing would you have an idea of what the website would be so I can do some research and maybe get on that waiting list. Thank you you have been helpful.

The ghost my-1 doesn’t really excite me because it is a one hitter, it takes more than one hit to get me to where I wanna be even if it is a big one, would be annoying to constantly have to change a bowl. Maybe in the future I would add it to my collection but as of now not really looking for that.

A vote for Haze Square. Love mine. Hits great. Decent battery. Can replace battery yourself. Quick charging. Vapor is not hot at all. Flavour is unreal.

I'm not exactly sure why you call the Ghost a one hitter? A normal crucible would be something like: 2 full hits on heat level 3, 2 full hits on heat level 4, and 2 full hits on heat level 5 to finish it.
Do you have a way to try one?
I'd be hard-pressed to name a portable that hits harder. And no others give such a cool/smooth vapor along with a super ass-kickin hit. It's like the 44 magnum of vapes...
Wish you could sample one

Is it good enough to retire your Minivap?
.....................................................................................
Short answer: no. Ghost MV-1 doesn't retire my miniVAPs.

miniVAP is still king of my vape station --with supreme flavor and AC puck, it's my daily driver. With low restriction bubbler and minimal warm water it's hard to beat the flavor and efficiency and no battery to recharge and rarely needs any cleaning.
Non-legal state here so I rarely vape out and about where a true portable is needed.
I have many portables but they get lesser use

Ghost without any bubbler gives remarkably huge hits that are easy on the throat and lungs.
The super fast heatup time makes it a better portable for out and about IMO

I’m in the middle of ordering a Nomad from the upcoming batch, and while I haven’t had a chance to try one it’s the most interesting convection portable to me by far. :)

@KeroZen has cut down stainless steel tubes for his, and others have got wooden ones, so you definitely don’t *have* to use it with glass stems all the time.

I don’t want to post @Dan Morrison ’s email address here since it might get spammed, but if you send him a message you can get on the waiting list. :)

I believe that the vape that checks the most of your boxes is the Lil Bud by vapwood, com. The Lil bud is full convection. It has swappable batteries. No glass. If the vapor is too hot there are options for longer stems. @Bravesst makes every Lil Bud a work of art.

perhaps you could like a Splinter / Splinter Z...

There is glas which can break and with the standard Mouthpiece it is hot (as all convection portables to some extent...)

but, true convection, big choice of battery / mod solutions, quick / on demand...

with a vapcap and a mighty, it s not easy to find a portable which is really beneficial to your Vaping experience...

or, you could love an Omnivap as upgrade to your M... :brow:

or, think again and get a kick ass heavy hitter desktop (Flowerpot or Herborizer TI)

whatever you choose, i wish you have much fun with it...

Given your preferences, I second the Lil Bud recommendation from @sickmanfraud. Get a glass-lined stem for home and regular wooden stem for vaping out. The 18650 batteries are finicky because they work best when fully charged or close to it. You also need to stir occasionally. The flavor, efficiency, and effects are first rate though. And there's something relaxing about just hitting a button and creating whatever kind of hit you're after with just your draw technique.

@ginolicious, does the Square prefer any stirring? If it doesn't need stirring and the four bowls in the Square fit the OP's needs then that might be an even better choice.

The LB is really effective and fun, but the stirring isn't optimal for vaping out. I'm not trying to pop a screen off or fiddle with a stir tool when I'm outside.

The Tubo X and Splinter are my other on demand convection portables but both use ground glass joints so I won't include more details except to say I mostly prefer them with water and wouldn't choose either to carry in my pocket.

I should be getting my nomad soon. But I think the tubo meets your wants best. You can use it either on demand or session mode and set the length of session mode. Set the temp within a range of degrees. It works great with small or large amounts of flower. I don't stir but I microdose and I use mine mostly with a whip instead of water but I also have a wood stem for it. Great as a solo or sharing with others.

I too am looking for a vaporizer with those characteristics and I too believe that in the end the Splinter Z could be the best profile.

Your list is very demanding, not sure if any portable really checks everything you want. The only vape I can think of that has all those properties you want is Ghost MV.

Here are some that are close: (with mismatched demands)

Ghost MV (had some faulty units issues, but is actually the only one that seems to check all of your demands)
Mighty (no replaceable batteries, but the battery life should be ok)
Splinter/SplinterZ with xlr8r stem (has glass)
Grasshopper (very hot vapor, had a lot of issues with faulty units, not sure if they still persist)
Air 2 (has glass, not as powerful as others, warm vapor)

I think the big problem is that some of your demands are kinda exluding each other.

Convection makes a lot of heat - which is demanding on batteries and vapor cooling. The only way to satysfy the battery demands and cooling is a huge complex cooling mouthpiece and a replaceable battery, which are both rare.

You want great flavor, but don't want glass - most super flavorful vapes are made of glass.

And ten combine that with the fact that there are not that many convection portables out there.

edit: oh, i see this thread is like a half-year old and ressurected. Well, whatever...

Lol I ended up buying a sticky brick and don’t regret it. I was being a little fickle with the cool vapour not even my mighty is super cool.
