Just a dude
I am checking this forum and 710coils daily for updates on their FP coil. If it doesn't come become available by Black Friday I'll just get the NV controller, because. That's the only thing keeping me from purchasing vrod.

What's the JCAT adapter?
If you look at @710Coils thread, he gives very accurate updates on which products are landing when. I’m pretty sure he just said when the latest round VRod coils arrive, it’s before Black Friday. Jcat adapters are a cool option too.

Ok, so auber controller -shipped. 710coil-shipping by end of week (BTW experience with @710Coils couldn't have been better, what a nice guy, amazing customer service).

But now I need a vrod. Oh look here's a Halloween flash sale for 15%off everything (discount code is TRICKORTREAT).

So everything has now been purchased! I'm so excited and can't wait to get everything!! I'll be twaxing in no time

Like many here I'm thinking of assembling my own FP kit with Auber PID. Is 710coil the only place for a coil that will both fit properly and work with the RDK-300? They appear to be sold out. Also says it only works with the VRod, but I wanted to get the Showerhead.

I believe @710Coils said that he expects the new shipment of coils to arrive today, and I believe the Vrod coils are included in that shipment. You can also send him a PM and get an invoice for a preoder if you wish. Just to make sure you don't miss it in case they sell out quickly, and it will ship to you pretty much as soon as they land on his door step. Is that all correct, Shane?

Any coil that works with the Vrod will work with the Showerhead as well, so no need to worry there. The SH can take a wide variety of 20mm coils, it's the Vrod that's picky. I think it's a good idea to go ahead and get a Vrod compatible coil in case you ever decide to upgrade in the future, plus it's not like they're any more expensive.

A FP paired with an Auber RDK-300 is the best of both worlds. You're making the right decision.

Well the coils came in and they were too tall. :bang:

I will be issuing refunds to everyone that pre ordered one of the Vrod coils from me and I am really really sorry about this mistake. I will take another crack at this and order more. But for now its refunds and sad faces :(:(:(

Other than that. The Axial coils look amazing!!!!!

Damn, that's a major bummer for sure!

I know there were quite a few people ready to hop on the FP train with your coils and an Auber.

Something got lost in translation I guess. I feel really bad and am working to get it sorted. The good thing here is I refuse to send anything out that is remotely not as expected and so I would rather take a hit in sales than to send out sub par coils and have people unhappy when it doesnt fit as expected.

Hoping to have this sorted and stocked within a week or so and I cannot stress how sorry I am for this mistake as I know there were several people very excited about these

Everyone that had pre ordered has been refunded and I also sent them a coupon for my mistake =)

If you're wanting to get your Showerhead right away, you should still get one of 710Coil's 20mm barrel coils. It won't work with the Vrod if you ever decide to pick it up, but it would get you going right away with the SH on the Auber. Or you could wait a few weeks til he has them in stock and have a coil that is compatible with both.

...and this is why you aren't losing my sale. I appreciate the attention to detail, it would have been real easy to take the coils out of one box and ship them out asap without looking at them.

Thank you. I'm pretty new to coils and such but I'm slowly figuring it out. I'm not really interested in concentrates so I think the SH will serve me well, but I appreciate you taking the time to educate me :)

So as I understand it from NV I'll still need Showerhead head set, bowl and post(plus any extras I might like) to have a working system, right?

Yep, if you have the Auber controller and the 20mm barrel coil from 710Coils, you'll need the SH set you linked, bowl, and post as the bare minimum to get you up and running.

It would probably be a good idea to pick up the Showercap carb cap as well. It's not absolutely necessary to use it with flower and the SH, but it definitely gives you more options and allows you to lower the temp. A worthy investment.

For the bowl, I'd strongly suggest either the Panhead or Shovelhead, that way you can use the double weave Ti screens (another extra you should definitely pick up). The double weave screens help keep your glass much cleaner, and they only fit the Pan/Shovelhead. You can also get a glass bowl for fairly cheap from NV if you want to play around with it some.

the stand and debowler is almost a necessity too. It's built like a tank, and super handy to hold your tools. You can make a stand yourself if want to save some cash. But you'll need somewhere to rest that hot SH.

Another possible extra would be a handle for the coil. You can also make your own, or some people don't use one at all. I like having the handle, and even made one myself. Search this thread for "paracord" and my post should pop up with some pics of mine.

Hope that helps!

Edit: don't forget to use a coupon code for 10% off. I don't know which ones are valid right now, hopefully someone can chime in as I'm heading to bed. Try "twax" and see if that one works.

This thing is crazy. It continues to blow me away. I turned down the Temps... It's even better. Starting at 600 I'm getting smacked.

I need a black Friday oil deal on an ounce so I can really play with thing more. This thing is just stupidly versatile its really crazy. Just out of this world really in terms of vaporizers.

I was worried about the exposed heater, but so far so good. Hasn't really ever been a problem.

I was slightly worried I wouldn't like it, but I haven't put it down. Nothing to clean.... You just smoke away.... I would upgrade the controller box to a boss ass one if one was available like the hex nail, but that's about it. Hex nail wouldn't even work currently since it's on my coffee table now so the compactness really is sweet. Really it ticks all the boxes, it's a must have unit if you're reading this and don't have this. You should just have this in your toolbox asap, it's holiday season, sales are going, get yourself one of these.

Anyone got any tips on it locking up at temp? Finally got my hands on dabs and been experimenting, at around 880 + I like it, but it locks up in the joint on the bowl and on the stand if it’s on it. I put it inverted on the pick if it’s on hot for dabbing, but pretty well cooling it after every hit to remove. Works fine at 800, is it just not made to go hotter?

Holy combustion temps, Batman! Dabbing at 880° is insanely hot!

On my Vrod, I'm usually dabbing with the controller set to 636°. Why are you using such a high temp? Are you using a carb cap when dabbing? Are you using the Vrod or SH? If the Vrod, the SiC or quartz dish? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone using a temp that high.

Regarding the FP locking onto the stand, it tends to happen at super high temps like that due to thermal expansion. You can counteract it by making sure the FP head sits perfectly level on the stand. I found a jar that was the perfect height, and I could use it to rest the handle on so the FP sat perfectly level on the stand.

Well there ya go. Using both dishes. Vape with it between 690-715 and figured dabbing you go hotter. Guess I just won’t and yea carb cabbing it.

Personally, I found the SiC dish to work better with the Vrod. I found with the quartz dish I had to turn the temps up a little too high, and couldn't do any double decker hits without scorching the flower.

If you want to up your dab game, make sure to pick up some terp pearls made out of either ruby/sapphire/quartz. They allow you to lower your temps even more and get more complete vaporization in the first hit. You'll need 5mm diameter pearls to fit in the Vrod dish.

I'd suggest starting to dab at the temp you were vaping flower, then turning the temp down 10° every hit until you find what works best for you.

Ok so I have an RDK-300 that hasn't been used in a very long time. I'm in an illegal state and don't have access to concentrates. Is the SH the thing to get if I'm only using flower? Or should I just get the Vrod now and hope for that legalization train to roll my way? I also have an Auber flat coil so I'm assuming I need to get a barrel coil?
