I am not sure what post count has to do with it.
To say that this thread is not a sales tool is either dishonest or naive.
The maker answered a question posted above the one being discussed.
That struck me as odd........as a business owner I would have answered or delegated it is epics infomercial after all.
I am using my Nano as I type this post so other than initial curiosity.........and now my necks up a bit so prolly aint gonna drop it until I want to........not because some one else complained about me asking a simple, polite question.

Folks, Epicvape has a phone number. It’s listed on their website. Be proactive and give them a call and ask questions. They are in the Pacific time zone. They are only available when they are open 5 days a week. I can’t for sure say the hours but I would presume 9:00 - 5:00. Closed on U.S holidays. Then you can always report back.:)

Andy responds here on the thread occasionally but he’s busy. @nadia_epic has been giving a lot of the info lately.

@arb dear sir, I am not trying to be a dick and didn’t have a problem with you bringing it back up. It’s just I’ve seen this play out a few times, in this thread and others. Especially the vitrified ceramics Q, so it’s out there. I certainly wasn’t expecting you to think that I was directing that at you, I respect you. I had deleted a reply twice before as wasted breath and should have deleted the 3rd time. If you want to get upset or riled, that’s up to you. If you want to take up the materials safety cause for whoever, knock yourself out.

I’m not saying that the thread doesn’t drive sales, I know it does because I have folks tell me that my posts “sold” them. All I am saying is that to expect a manufacturer to check the thread hourly, daily, or even weekly at times, isn’t reasonable. Just because they answered another question doesn’t mean they’re hanging out for more, they all have other jobs to do or they can choose to ignore a question that’s been answered many times before. This is just a forum, like it or not, not a 24 hour hotline to EpicVape.

There’s a search feature for people to use, if they’ve got specific concerns, and her/his seems specific. I know that it’s been discussed but don’t have the energy to do their research. Ime, posts like that are a fucking tar baby that put us in a position of trying to “sell” or give some sort of reassurance for their concerns, for someone who’s merely interested. It’s not this thread’s purpose to be a sales shop, FFS.

Log vaporizers are based on some of the oldest vape tech around, the Enano has been manufactured since 2012. The answers to @fijk worries are in the thread if they’re truly bothered enough to put forth more effort than to ask others to do it for them and convince them, in their second post. What’s in the airpath?! It’s in this thread, it’s on their website, it’s what makes me think this person wants to be served.

We’re not meant to go into material safety issues in a specific product thread, because it’s a great way to derail the thread and make it suck as we all jump into the rabbit hole together. We’re starting to do it now!
:bang: Not to mention that it’s probably been done before, especially in a thread with 862 pages.

EDIT: Exactly @Hackerman a manufacturers interaction here on this forum doesn’t mean that they’re obligated to use it as a help desk or sales counter. It sure as hell shouldn’t be a measure of the customer service or after sales care. I can guarantee you that EpicVape is busy right now, they’re all working long days trying to keep up, so maybe cut Nadia some slack if she’s not right there when we think she should be. It’s not like FC is an everyday top priority for her, she’s busy.

Re:"sell" - Well, I wonder if I would have gotten a similar response from you in this thread if I had sung the praises of how the e-Nano has gotten me safely blasted instead of raising questions about safety concerns.

Re: Log vape tech since 2012. - Not sure what this means. We've been smoking since 5000 BC.

When searching this thread, "vitrified" or "vitrification" came up only after I asked about it at almost 900 pages later which is perplexing because I am pretty sure people much smarter than me have wondered about the same thing before me. Forgive me if I haven't tried hard enough to find a satisfactory answer. But I don't think it's really my fault if vape manufacturers lack transparency in this wild west market with no formal health regulatory oversight.

While the airpath sounds far better than the majority of vapes out on the market (and that's why I'm very interested in it) time and time again third party teardowns like puffitup's and users' reports and pictures of their units show that you can't seriously just take manufacturers' marketing claims at face value.

I don't see how issues about material safety are considered "derailing." Seems like material safety would be the furthest thing you could call "derailing" when we're all trying to "medicate" here.

I'm just a consumer like 99% of the people here. If trying to find a way to vape safely (which I think should be perfectly aligned with the interests of most posters here) somehow goes against the vibe of this thread or forum, e.g., asking whether or not the ceramic is vitrified is some kind of "play" then I don't know what to say.

I'll try contacting EpicVape directly about my concerns.

Actually, it is a rule here:

  • If you have a question or comment regarding material safety, post it in General Discussion. Do not post it in a model thread.

If you need clarification about this rule, feel free to PM me but do not post about it in product threads.

Thank you.

What a livey discussion! As mentioned above we’re not really supposed to address safety/health concerns on here. I did see the question and waited to respond until our team could best address the concern. And quite honestly the universe has been blessing us with more than our usual share of work so I’m a little behind.

Nonetheless, I can tell you that the heater is ROHS complient from the manufacturer. We aren’t able to convince, educate or even given an opinion as the the benefits or negative concerns you may have regarding the ceramic heater on this forum. Nor do we do much off that on our website. We can however do our best to give you the specs on our products and parts. Please feel free to reach out to customerservice@epicvape.com with any questions regarding the build.

It’s definitely a wild Wednesday on FC today. Thanks for reaching out!

I'm interested in the e-Nano but I'm concerned about porous ceramics releasing particulates at vaping temperatures. Anyone know if the ceramic heating element of the e-Nano is vitrified? Also what is in its airpath?
Smoke joints then!

My apologies for being rude in any way.
You certainly did not offend me and please never feel like you need to censor yourself on my behalf.
I want to hear what you have to say.......whether I like it or not.

I am hot on the search bar tonight, time for a Scooby snack.;)

The E-Nano uses the same type of ceramic as the SSV, LSV, Vapor Bro’s Etc. It is designed to deliver 15-Watts at 120v. The dimmer is rated for 150 watts and is currently in use in hundreds-of-thousand if not millions of electrical devices. I went with a ceramic heater because it fit my design requirements, is certified Rohs compliant and they have stood the test of time, having been used in thousands of Vapes for many years. They have an extremely low failure rate which is why most vape companies that use them warranty them for so long. As far as overall saftey, treat it with the same respect you would treat any device you plug into 120v current.

I took advantage of EpicVape’s coupon and bought their new cord to have as spare. They have great service, BTW. I may never need it, but I feel better knowing I have one. If anyone is interested, here are my thoughts on it.

The new one looks and feels a little different; the control box is bit lighter and smaller and the indicator is in a different orientation from my current one. The cord itself is softer and more flexible. I have the braided sleeving stuff on both cords and they feel equally flexible with that on.

I only used the new cord once but I needed to increase the dial number to get the same vapor it seemed. IOW, my normal 6.7 needed 7.4 or so with the new one. That needs more testing, but there’s plenty of headroom anyway.

I think the new one has better quality cord, but I think that I prefer my current rheostat - it has a tighter and better quality feel to it. Anyway, it all works and I love my Nano!

The new one is on the left in both photos.

Just wondering what the current wait time is for warranty/repair requests? I submitted mine last Sunday and still have not heard back. I thought maybe I missed it.... the automated email I got back said I should hear back in 48 hours.

Could you please take a look...I’m missing my Nano! She’s not heating anymore.

@mysterion Here’s a neat diagnostic test that Nadia taught me:

If you have a home printer, it’s power cord will most likely have the same connector as the Enano, just plug that into your Enano. If it gets hot, then all you need is a new power cord for ~$20! If not, there are other things you can check before sending it in, here in the thread.

I certainly did that! It still doesn’t heat up.

I believe the heater is lifetime warranty correct?

I’m not sure about the heaters warranty and don’t want to give misinformation, although that sounds familiar. I’d look for that information on their website. Since mines older too, I have opened it up when a loose connection has caused mine to go cold, and that’s super easy to check. Have you done that as well?

Someone on Vaporents was asking something similar awhile back, & IIRC the HI is the only one w/ vitrified ceramic.

I'd still love to try/own a Nano. I hear it's pretty awesome w/ 'trate sammy's!

@Morty sorry 2U! (Bug)
Is 15 grams 2 much CANNABIS 4-4 days in my NANO?

I love how simple it is?

Why is CANNABIS so cheap?
I only have a little more than a once? (Top shelf)
.5 grams is more than enough 4-me per/day?

I have been vaping some extremely cerebral Durban Poison through water with the Nano.

My face and teeth are numb and skin tingling. I recall many people saying they could never get quite as high as when they first started puffing. I used to think that, but quality dry herb vaping changed all of that.
