Hello, are you using the splinter Z with your wismec releaux 2/3 in TCR mode? If yes Can you post your settings? Thanks in advance
I believe @AJS may be using wattage still currently but unsure. @HerbieVonVapster directed me with a recommendation here. I didnt have the devices set up so have not used the info but when I check back for it I will let you know, if no better ideas are offered first.

@Mr. Gweilo 420 shoot, another lucky 4 hole bugger! Oh well, just luck of the draw I guess to all's fair in love and war (or something like that). Congtats anyhow.

I think @AJS is right. It would be kind of fun to pool our individual 2/4 hole feelings together. Like how the dry vapor production varies for example. This would arguably be where some may prefer the 2 hole?

But 4 holes would maybe be cooler, and could surely be dialled in for any sort of vapor production. Except ironically, that may require a higher temp.

Just remembered- I found an interesting video by George on Facebook, specificalky on 2 hole vs 4 hole OG Splinter. I cant link the video direct. Here is the page, go to videos. It is the 2nd vid.
https://m.facebook.com/vapefiend/

Our wifi has been dodgy of late and videos are most affected, and I cannot play this one through. Vimeo slightly better. Instagram variable. Shoukd be revealing though as to why George decided to keep orders exclusively for 2 holes for now.

Either way, love the Z. I sometimes wonder what the perfect Wattage to airflow balance of the 4 hole would be like. I feel like that could be absolutely deadly. Still loving the 2 though andvery happy I have it. Maybe someone should start a poll on which they prefer. Would be interesting to see.

Fucking love fuckcombustion.

Can hook it up to Arctic Fox Monitor see whats is happening in real time. Then use the TCR value you finds works best and use them in FJ or sur_evic software.

I recommend if new to mods start with arctic fox software. It's much better than wismec software. The stock 316L file should work with stempod. Arctic fox is very easy to learn on you can make setting changes on computer. Tons of instructions device monitor etc.

Once have a grasp of what's happening then can move on to FJ or sur_evic for cruise control.

Calm Consistency
Hey all,

Decided to try out TC on the Splinter Z. I used it a ton on the OG Splinter but barely ever on the Z. Having this and the StemPod and not wanting to remember settings for both, I just stick with Wattage.

My settings are nowhere near correct. Was using 340F and was getting great results up until 370F to finish a bowl. Obviously not accurate. Sesh was very enjoyable, temp seems much more consistent than in Wattage mode, and hits seem all around smoother.

Going to keep experimenting. So far liking the TC.

Thanks so much for posting this. I am 100% certain that I'm a standard/low airflow person.
You are more than welcome, and Im really pleased actually to think I may have been of some use becsuse I really feel like I owe so many of you here.

And very well done Summer for being so bang on the money again, attentive to the fine detail in order to establish the facts and nothing else.
I speak of VF's recent Z order. The mans at the shop were telling me "no 4 holes came in".

But I remembered you saying that a few slipped through, and I kept thinking- "Mmm. But Summer said...she does her homework and is usually bang on point."

So it wasn't actually a surprise to hear confirmation of a few (2 I think yet?) 4 holes from that UK batch.
So sorry if it seemed like I doubted you- I didn't really. ;) I may have to ring you next time instead of Vapefiend!

So my 18650's came today. No charger some just charged in the Wismec RX Gen 3.
Took about 10 hours from a 20% start.

And to be clever, I cleaned the Milaana cooling mouthpiece in soapy water and had a serious mission trying to get all of the water out afterwards. There is still some in there I just gave up in the end, tipping it shaking it sucking it at every possible angle. I even put a flame to it and left it on a plate in the already warmed but cooling down oven.

Not much water left now and I think it should be safe to put on top of the heater but I'm not looking forward to cleaning this thing in the future lol. I thought the Vapeexhale Hydratube was bad but this was a lot more tricky.

I had my first go anyway, but nowhere close to dialling it in yet. I really wanted to try it yesterdsy but I was so tired I didnt even have the ebergy or desire to vape, but did have edibles.

I was still very weak this morning but I just wanted to find out asap whether I will actually be able to tolerate the Z. Always an especially anxious process for me, a new vape due to my allergies and I am never in the zone, always rushing about it in a mix of hope and fear.

Too tired to think to master the Wismec, what didn't help things is the 10 second auto shut off. I know you can disable this but I was still quite foggy on technique and button hold times.
And with the Wismec in power mode, I dont see any temp displayed, not sure if I should. I think I see others with a temp readout in wattage mode, but maybe this comes with the firmware.

Milaana stem, 30 w to start- 5 second pre-heats. 10 to 20 second draws, variable button press. It was slap dash, and disorderly.
I moved up in watts to 40 I think, getting nice taste and no real vapor, then a good cloud at 40 W.

My chest was feeling quite irritated though but not excessively but I decided to try the water adaptor. Fresh load. No milk to start at 40W, I stupidly went to 50W.
Got milk! Got fire!! Yep, combusted.

Bubbler and stem clean and quickly back for more. Again foggy AF in my condition and anxious frame of mind. Better hits. All sorts watts between 39 and 45.
Always a dark hotspot though, and I found it very tricky to stir the load at all without bits flying everywhere.

Also my herb are used today was extra fine grind that's just the way it came out the grinder, so not ideal for packing and for convection and would be more prone to combustion.

And I figured towards the end that I needed to draw faster in the beginning to actually generate vapour with both the stem and water adaptor. Maybe I could get milk and clouds well below 40 Watts with a faster draw from the beginning but I'm still confused about preheat timing and button hold times etc. I have followed the thread but my head is like a sieve.

Im sure I need to put Arctic Fox on there and get a better idea of technique and variables to dial things in. Plus switch off that 10 second auto shut off (if that's even necessary).

So it did bother my chest and allergies too much for my liking, but was charring and all round poorly configured and executed. So I will take a more measured approach next.
Effects are very nice. Very energizing and refreshing. Not like vapcap lazy sedation.

Going notice a big difference with arctic fox. Doesn't just change screen layout AF tweaks the way chip functions so you get better performance out of it.

I seem to recall there stock 316L file ran the splinter fine. In AF you can import a coil material file. If stock one doesn't work let me know. I can load up AF and post the CVS file.

Hello, I received the Z today and I could do a test using as mod an hybridX, it only operates in watts mode and I think is not the best mod but…was my only option.I have found as Alexis that faster draws are need for nice clouds..I used it within a range of 30-45 watts and also the time limitation of the mod was certainly a shit… I do not manage to master big clouds generation yet but… with the same amount of material , effects are twice than a vapcap sesión...well..in fact is like other level...I like vapcap… but this Z is in other league It reminds me a good old smoking sesion but more energetic. When the wismec will arrive I feel I will have lot of fun for sure.. this splinter Z (two holes) has lots of posibilities.

I'm finding the Z requires a harder pull vs the OG Splinter which at first made me think it wasn't performing. I was getting up as high as 45w and no luck at all with FCSHARE TC profile (which is perfect for Splinter) but oh boy, this thing is the destroyer of man.

@HerbieVonVapster I'm finding that I need to re-upload settings from escribe every so often otherwise SplinterZ profile reads OFF instead of temp and then it's running in wattage mode. Splinter seems ok - stable. I don't get new atomiser message much when swapping between Splinter and Z, that seems odd? Any insight? :sherlock:

I am back to watts on my 4 hole, I like 43 watts and use it dry or through water.

I am sticking with 43 for a while getting consistent results and smooth hits
What is your approach wrt button hold etc? Do you have a 10 sec shit off? (Lol, I deliberately didn't edit that because it seems appropriate but I meant shut off)
I think now if I had understood to pull harder and faster from the beginning I probably could have generated milk in less than 10 seconds and let the button go for a decent cloud.

Not going to do any more testing today because I have incurred some respiratory brother which could be device dependent regardless of how I dial it in and I am suspecting this will be the case but I will give it another shot for certain.

I already have a friend who wants to take it off of me if it doesn't work out so it was definitely worth a go.
It just isn't an ideal time right now for testing new devices which can cause a lot of suffering as we are still mid-house decorating so I need my energy and nothing is in order yet.

I preheat for 3 seconds let off , then hit the button and draw for 3 to 5 seconds, if I taste vapor I finish the draw. If no vapor I pulse the button for 1 to 2 seconds till I taste vapor.

Still using the Z with a stem pack in the DDave cooling mp. Using Herbies Fcshare file. I just use the regular Splinter profile, 40W, 500 f. Preheat 5 sec and then take long pulls. Huge clouds, around 6-8 rips per bowl. AVB comes out perfectly browned. My favorite portable now. Running on a Lost Vape Therion 75c.

Thanks guys. As soon as I can finally get moved back into my room and a proper bed I'll have time and energy for playing around (bed just got delivered today, more bits and bobs then sorted, cannot wait.)

I uploaded a new version with some extra material in it. Please try the SpinterZ file again check make sure that it's using the correct cold ohms. I noticed the splinterZ profile did have ohms locked should be corrected now.

Also added a download for lost vape tradeDNA250c for use with 3 battery mods.
Added additional profiles in triade that are based on stem length and screen for the Z. 19/19 uses RBT screens. !9/22 uses top hat screens with finer mesh than RBT's screens. Also available as separate downloads to try.

They are both A1 in my books. Honestly the Splinter is so good. I get dense flavorful vapor from it. I questioned if the Z could be better. Actually better is the wrong way to look at it imo. They will both have their roles in my arsenal. But the Z really is like the og on steroids as has been mentioned before. Its the fucking business if you ask me.

I guess it's like between Milaana and Zion. Both are excellent vapes, but the Zion is still in another league. The stars were perfectly aligned when this one was born. A lovely equilibrium.

Now it lives on in the Splinter Z and Ryan doesn't have to handle messy circuits and electrons anymore, he can just focus on making great heater modules.

But I have still hopes that some day Zion will rise from its ashes like a phoenix. Maybe part-Chinese, part-Yankee... who knows? :p

Couldn’t agree more. Maybe it will look like this, lol.
