New vape sells some standard type rigs that might be good for dry for $60. My eye is on this one. 12.5" Stereo Matrix Rig Ver. 2(9301) Vape Critic has a code. But I can't recollect it ATM.

Yeah, they are stevenlmz79 glass pieces but for $60, no three week shipping wait, USA customer service if there is a problem with the glass....well worth the added what...$15-20?

Anyone know where I could pick up the glass piece that is female 18 to 4 arms for whip hoses, like the new Vapexhale Connect package? Can anyone suggest any inline valves for the silicone hose that open when squeezed?

Can't top that. :) You might want to talk to them about their warranty, RMA process, shipping conditions, etc. Worst case. Knock on wood. Not sure how much dif it is then VHL direct?

Ok My question now. Are the newer graphite tubes any better than plain?

Yea if you get on their mailing list, you get an invite for a survey. And perhaps a discount code. I needed ELBs PIU and is out ATM (and I pondered getting tubes for half price. :haw:) So I checked all the boxes, etc.

There might be a promo code or two to bring you even closer to stevenlmz79's price as well. Maybe 'Stay up' or something. But yea, If you break your rig, you can get your replacement sent. Or buy in bulk from stevenlmz79 and have a back ups. Some do just that.

This one from new vape is fairly close to a Do20 variant. 18mm Female Rig - Large Base The perc is further up than the one I own, But close enough to get that matrix action.

If New Vape sold their rigs on their Ebay store, that would have me hooked up entirely.

i remember when you were down and only had half of an EVO. :haw: So since you have two now, did one of them get painted yet? Yea, I own two in case one takes a dive. And they both get used in tandem on the weekends.

Yea, I saw your tool holder for sale as well. A while back you mentioned wanting to get feedback on this project as well. So I'll add my 2 cents there. Glad you went for a stand as well.

I'm not sure who recommended the Turbine over the Calyx for me, but thank you. I've been using it for my Lemonade Haze and man is that shit tasty! I plan on using it mainly for concentrates but if I get some tasty herb I will mix it up some.

Anyhow, after going back to my Classic Hydrabomb, I have to say, I really think it was a bad idea to get rid of the classic size hydratubes. There is something about that easy pull and the bigger 50mm can size that I just really prefer using for flower. Other than Ebay, does anyone know any 3rd party retailers that still stock Classic Hydrabombs? I know if that thing ever breaks I'll have to settle for a precision next time. Anyone seen any official Classic Hydrabombs around?

Thanks!

Definitely go to @PlanetVape . (http://www.planetvape.ca)

I checked and they have stock on various kits. Maybe reach out to them and they might even give you a bit of a discount :) Let them know JCat from FC sent you (I've been a very good customer of there's over the years ...!)

I ordered today from Robert at Planet Vape and he was great, price matching a bit lower price I found somewhere else. I opted for the free shipping and my new toy should be here tomorrow.

Robert from PV said to make sure I said hi to you Jcat. Thanks again for sending me to PV.

Cheers

I really liked their sense of humor too.. They threw in a small bag of Doritos with my vape..LOL

I set the Vapexhale up for a dry run and to check the fit and finish and I will say I am impressed. The only conern/question I have is about the whistle it makes when taking a draw.. Is this normal? Kinda annoying. I read on a reddit forum Vapexhale did this purposely to help you regulate your draw speed when hitting concentrates but I call B.S. on that..

Looking at it closely, I think the whistling is caused by an edge on the bottom of the glass "bamboo".
I can think of two possibly solutions off the top of my head.. first would be to break out my dremel tool and smooth the edge a bit and see if that fixes. Other possible solution o would be to stick and inch of aquarium line out the bamboo in the bottom and see if that disrupts the airflow enough to get rid of the whistle..

The EVO does whistle’s at first!
I have a very strong strain I need 2-b scientific with & a EVO should be decent!

Yep...mine whistles like a teapot unless I draw super hard. For me.... I've found that the stronger the whistle the better the hit most of the time.

I've joked about this before but that whistle calls to my wife even when she's just finished a session of her own on another vape because....the taste of newly filled ELB is hard to pass up. She tells me its just a coincidence that she finds a reason to be in the same room I'm using the EVO in when that whistle calls.......yeah, right :lol:

No matter....sharing is caring :D

Many, but not all, EVO's whistle. Mine does only occasionally. Most folks report just the opposite of @His_Highness...that is, the whistle starts when they draw too hard.

I doubt its the bottom edge of your bamboo and I would hesitate to screw with a brand new unit that is working just fine. Many have speculated that the whistle comes from the narrowed section of the bamboo but who knows for sure. Others have reported that as soon as their unit gets a little dirty, the whistling stops.

Hope this is somewhat helpful.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel the same way, the stand is essential at this point. Airflow restriction has really been a buzz kill from my little experience with the Evo. The stand completely eliminates any chance of restriction at that end of the bamboo plus the added stability always helps :myday:

Both of mine whistle after being cleaned, then the dirt stops that initial whine when you start a draw. When I test my Gong setups, I expect it to whistle when I'm trying to iron lunging it.

Some have pointed out that the bamboo is designed for the air to drag along and hence make the whistle.

As long as it isn't a broken bamboo, the whistle is more of an indicator than any sort of perceived problem for me.

Hi everyone,

So I bought a vape xhale a few days ago from a local store. After getting it home, I found that the heating element does not get hot enough. It can only mildly at best vape herb at the highest temp.

I have emailed customer service and unfortunately they are unwilling to help me since I don’t have a receipt.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would even pay for it to be fixed.

I would try to return it to the local shop first. Hopefully they are a licensed VHL seller and will help you. KIM there are fake EVO's out there, but they are usually quite obvious. Is it a new unit, BTW?

IF I buy a used EVO, I make sure the warranty is still good and I get a facsimile of the receipt. Check the serial number on your unit. Someone from Customer service might refer to that instead of a receipt.

If you ever buy a new unit, register it with VXL , to get the full 3yr warranty without the hassle. Hope this helps.

This dental tool is handy for ELBs. Scoop and fill with one end. Scrape the insides with the spade end. Also great way to shoehorn those tops apart from their baskets without using your fingernail. :)

Thanks for the reply! The unit is unused. Although apparently it is 4 years old. (I didn’t know this until I told customer service the serial number).

Unfortunately the shop is unwilling to give a receipt. Any more suggestions? I still have the price tag on it... but I guess that’s not good enough.

Check to see that the bamboo isn't broken first. Then ask VXL if you can have your unit calibrated. They might just do it automatically or ask if you are willing to pay to have it done. An unused unit that is 4yrs old? :hmm:That sounds like a very special case or your local shop needs to explain itself. Is it an authorized dealer? Are they willing to get you a newer unit w/ warranty? Or is it as I suspect, you bought the one unit they had and they don't carry that brand as a thing?

Maybe get more details from whom you bought it from and get a facsimile receipt for VXL. Also ask VXL how much a repair is. A broken bamboo is around $75 so that might be the most expensive repair. Get a quote for getting it calibrated after you've exhausted trying to get them to be sympathetic for you buying an unused 4 yr unit and fix it for free.

ALWAYS buy from a licensed re seller or direct folks. EVO's are like fine sports cars that need to go to a special garage to get fixed. :2c: I've had my used EVO sent to be repaired and it came back with a free ELB.

Awesome advice, I really appreciate it. That’s exactly what I did, offer to pay for the repair/calibration.

Yes the unit probably sat at the local shop for the past 6 years. They are definitely not an authorized dealer. I could definitely tell that it was unused though.

Hey guys, I have a question, and I apologize if this has been asked and answered already, I'm still making my way through this 700+ page thread.

So I just got my EVO a week or so ago and I love it. The question I have is.. When it gets to temp and I get the green light to drop in my ELB, does the clock start ticking then on when my material will be fully vaped, or how long can I expect it to last while not taking hits?

How I have been using it is to toss in an ELB and give'r until gone, thinking if I don't hit it until done and if I take too long of a break, my herb will vaporize into the atmosphere. Am I correct in my thinking, or does my material only vaporize when taking a hit?

Also, I know this device is supposed to be more efficient, but I find myself using pretty much the same amount of material I was using with my EQ, although the vapor is definitely more dense and plentiful. I typically will go through 3 or 4 ELBs packed about 1/2 -3/4 full, is this about normal? I guess everyone's tolerance is different...I have been hitting Phyto labs concentrates for a while, so maybe a I need a "T" break?

Please walk me though how you use the device, and if I should be pulling the ELB out after a hit or two if I plan to take a short break, or turn off the power, or what the best procedure is. Does pulling the ELB completely stop the vaporization process or is it pointless once started?

Thanks

I would make another attempt to get a facsimile receipt from the seller. So from what I understanding, the unit has an S/N and VXL could tell how old it was from that? If so, that would shed some light as their S/N system.

Another point, I don't know if you are a new user or a new buyer with some experience with the EVO. You are doing all the normal things like letting it ramp up from red to green, etc?

I'd say the clock slowly starts ticking. You can leave it, but some heat does conduct from the glass wall and rising heat. This also depends on how high you have it to begin with.

Oh yea, you had an EQ before like me. The EQ is about saving the heat and calibrating temps and modding the glass. The EVO it's more about how full the basket is in relation to the heat. I've overheated/roasted/combusted more from over packing then the dial setting. The EVO is more efficient. Try more dose control and try to stack the goods as opposed to trying to fill the basket. Playing with the temps can get you more hits per bowl and I stir the contents of the ELB one more time for another round.

Please walk me though how you use the device, and if I should be pulling the ELB out after a hit or two if I plan to take a short break, or tune of the power, or what the best procedure is. Does pulling the ELB completely stop the vaporization process or is it pointless once started?
I pull the ELB out of habit, but it's not critical. The ELB's do get warm. So that's enough reason for me to bother. But not be bothered if I forget. :D

Hope this helps.

Yes I know how to work the unit. A few of my friends have them. It just doesn’t get hot enough to vape herb.

The owner of the store is just an asshole. I even had customer service call the store and he pretended like they never carried the product

Now I’m stuck with this useless broken vape.
