I was looking at a herbalizer? Spelling? I'm UK though and I don't think they did a 240v version. I'd like something similar. The thread on here is interesting the repair guy seems very legit.

I know you weren't directing the comment to me but just thought I'd chip in.

In terms of smaller loads I'm torn. I have had success with the chamber reducer and pad aswell as the caps but personally I love using the plenty as standard and filling the chamber for a nice long session.

Either way if you go for the reducer 'nipple' the screen. There are past comments warning to be careful if you do this on as the chambers can be damaged quite easily @LesPlenty @Old Toker and @ChooChooCharlie seemed to have a lot of insight.

The plenty for me is a special occasion vape. I absolutely love it through water - found boundless (tera) and flowermate (mine is an aura) water adaptors unscrewed so just the top section fits quite snuggly on the top if you take the stainless cooling coil out.

I ONLY use The Plenty with a full chamber.....however a full chamber is too much for one session for a lightweight Old Toker like me. I vape about a third of the chamber (10 minutes), remove it from the vape....and then hit the chamber a couple more times to make sure it's completely cool. I'm not much a discerning "flavor" guy...but the next 1 or 2 sessions taste OK to me.
..@LesPlenty @Old Toker and @ChooChooCharlie seemed to have a lot of insight.
The other two posters definitely seem to have a lot of insight.....I just have a lot of experience getting ripped with The Plenty. Enjoy!!!

Anyway-

have you looked at the herbalizer- it would meet your needs
the company has recently gone out of business
the remaining units are available on ebay for 379 by a guy who used to work there- seems nice
herbalizerepair.com

i would have bought that - but ordered the plenty instead. i am sure i will regret it. I just didnt want to deal with something breaking down and no spares or warranty. if that is something you can deal with - go for it

On an unrelated note- I am unclear after extensively reading this forum, re what is the best way to efficiently use the plenty when using micro-loads----
is it

a. use concentrate pad as filler
b. use reducer with or without microdose capsules (storz& bickel )
c. cotton wool filler
d. old abv filler
e. something i saw used in coffeshops in amsterdam foe non tobacco joints- hemp fiber filler

a poll would be nice-please weigh in

My friend, rest assured, you can't regret the Plenty, that's just kinda impossible, UNLESS, your weed is crap, or you've got lung issues, etc!

However, other than that, this piece of German Tech is in certainly in the Big League, let me give you a tip, if you go looking, you'll find the Plenty 'firmly cemented' up in the drafty section, (i.e. near the top) of the league alongside the Volcano, Mighty and that other German Tank, the Aromed 4.0 which imho is too sweet, the only drawback is, that it's a bit caveman style - but that vapor quality, oooh! My friend, that kinda quality will make you either 'very stiff', or ''very damp'!:lmao:

Sorry I digressed there, back to the Plenty, the vapor is definitely on point, if you drop something on the lines of 1g of Bruce Banner, Da Glue aka GG#4, or some good Chemdawg:rockon: in there, and then after that sesh come back and (try to) reason... lol!

However, :sherlock: In answer to your question re efficiency; it depends on your circs, but I can safely say from 'experience' that options A & B definitely work, and option D can work also, esp if it's good (i.e. Chemdawg or White Widow) ABV that you're using.
I don't know about option E, cos we don't smoke joints....

Enjoy your plenty.....

Hey fellas! Been browsing the site for a while, finally made an account to get in on this thread.

I've had my Plenty for close to a year and by god it hits like a goddamn truck. I've got loads to talk about but first I'd like to get a little confirmation on something that's been worrying me for a while. About 8 months ago I dropped the Plenty straight onto a concrete floor, hitting it around the base of the heating element on the corner of the frame. Ever since then I've had this nagging worry that I might have broken some internals in there...I tried searching around for teardown videos to see if that could help and wasn't really successful on that front, and I'm not too big on voiding my warranty on something that could be a red herring. Is this something I should be worrying about? Ever since I dropped it it's worked the same as it always has, but I can't shake the feeling that something might be off. I'm at work right now but I'll try to snag a picture of the damage when I get home.

Thanks in advance for any help!

EDIT: Hot fuckin damn first post on the site is #2000 kickin things off strong boyos

@Mrb58 responding about the best way to go anout smaller loads.
I personally have found its situational.

The pad seems to cause faster extraction once it heats up I think its because of the heating surface area; more space to spread the herb and the heat from the pad on top. Definitely make sure you have enough to cover the whole bottom screen for best results . I prefer this method for sessions with two people so less vapor escapes. Also good for using with accessories that require tipping the plenty. Pad holds everything neatly and you get more concentrated vapor imo.

Reducer does have a bit of a learning curve and you have to nipple the top screen downward to keep the herb from spilling. Reducer feels a bit more convection than pad, extraction takes a bit longer and is a bit more controllable. Best for standard use for one. You really need to fill it all the way though.

Hope that helps slightly!

@Obveron now that you tell us furthur about your habits of consumption, it does seem like the Plenty would be a unit well suited for a user such as yourself.

Go for it.

Edit: @nanash1 here's an in vitro research comparing the extraction effectiveness of different vaporizers - the volcano, the plenty, the arizer solo and the da vinci.
The arizer solo was the best in that department.

Fascinating article

so what this is saying is that while the V ; P ; Solo give 58 ; 67; and 83 % recovery of THC in vapor
the fractionation is really interesting and has implications
residue ( ABV ) contains 15 ; 2 and 2 of THC
but the device itself ( the cooling coil in the case of P) contains 2; 24 and 18 % of the total THC

take home lesson '
for V users - that abv has plenty mof go left

OTOH for P users -----a quarter of the available THC is in the coil. As the coil is relatively inexpensive- and alcohol extraction of THC is a heckuva heckuva lot easier than abv extraction. buy two coils ( i already had) and swap them weekly or more often. have a big sealed mason jar of iso and every swap put old one in the iso and leave it there for a few days. when the iso is sufficiently gunky. just let it evaporate off. what will remain is going to be pretty close to shatter/concentrate/ wax

plan to try all three methods to see what works best for me pad/ reducer and abv as filler

No sparks, no non-herb burning smell or smoke.....8 months later...still working great....Fuck it.... If it ain't broken don't fix it. JMPO...

I don't think that the 'filling chamber reducer' was any kind of after thought.
It was simply designed to transform the 'Plenty' into The Ultimate Mini/Micro-Dosing
Vaporizer on the market! With the best heating chamber, and Power!
I believe This is a much better technique than trying to get multiple sections out of one big dose.

I was thinking the same, really - 'spose I just needed to hear it from someone else.

Anyways, I guess I'll throw my DIY mod in here, maybe someone might get a kick out of it.

I work for an industrial company so I was able to order some really high grade 9/16" OD silicone tubing. This is some good stuff - thick wall, temperature resistant, and food safe. The black chamber piece is 5/8" ID so I slid 'er in and used the spare silicone from the box to make a seal. Jammed in a 14-14 at the other end and I've got some gnarly glass to pair it with. I can't use the metal coil anymore and I'm looking at buying a second chamber housing for it, but just the whip does me good.

Super duper agree. I usually pack half green, half AVB into the chamber reducer and clear it out on 7. I seriously love this vape, it's crazy that it's not all that popular.

This seems like a bad look for the plenty. If a quarter of the thc is trapped in the coil, that sounds horridly inefficient. Though, i dont know how that compares to combustion. This article was a huge eye opener for me. How much money is trapped in my coil?!? Really has me thinking twice about whether I’m using the right device...
Possibly the highest ive ever been was from boiling my coil in milk after 2 months so there is something to this for sure. Thanks for sharing this
P

Also @Mrb58 i think you may regret soaking the coil in iso from what ive heard from Others that have done this.... it apparently will leave an awful taste in the coil. Let me know how it works out, im very interested. I know just from boiling in milk, rinsing and coming back it it a week later. That coil traps liquid forever. You might need 3 coils

You don't have to use the cooling coil

Markus Storz didn't at first either:

Plenty-patent-sketch.jpg

Can picture them testing the Plenty prototype in the Volcano lounge, cursing at the hot vapor. They were accustomed to cool Volcano bags. So they came up with the steel cooling coil. S&B hates glass. Must have been some childhood glass trauma.

I played with short straight glass stems in place of the coil. Hot. If the lab testers in that study had stuck a solo stem in place of the coil, the test results would have been very close, based on their comparable low abv residual levels.

Cool vapor -> more loss through condensation. Same with any vape. Grasshopper designers wear their hot vapor stream as a badge of honor, extolling the virtue of low condensate loss with short direct path.

Here's a visualization of Dean vortices generating turbulent mixing around a 90 degree bend. I be hypnotized

Helical paths generate and sustain Dean vortices. Molecules mix and increase velocity as they swirl, maximizing molecule to wall strikes. Mixing ensures everyone gets many cooling wall interactions. Mighty and Crafty cooling units use rectangular channels with many 180 degree turns to achieve similar turbulent mixing/cooling

S/S coil is shit, soaked on ISO for days? I used mine until the following arrived;
https://www.dhgate.com/product/glass-adapter-10-10-14-14-14-19-standard/213619561.html
and
https://www.dhgate.com/product/jhook-glass-j-hook-adapter-14-mm-18-8mm-creative/389203747.html
Stuck in the place where the s/s coil used to be, I like my resin in me, not my wand.
And because I can't post the pictures here;
https://vaporasylum.com/threads/the-plenty-by-storz-bikel.487/page-2
(5 posts down)
I can't remember the times I have dropped my device, as stated, I would only start worrying if sparks and smoke start to come out of it
I don't think that the 'filling chamber reducer' was any kind of afterthought.
Funny how it took S&B years to get around to making it, the Germans don't like to fix things that ain't broke.

My Friend, If it ain't broke - don't fix....;)
I mean, by simply applying one's own critical faculties, I noted that you said "you dropped it about 8months ago" and then you go on to state "it's still working as same as it always has!"
Without sounding like I've got issues, I have to say, I don't really see the problem, what is the problem?

If its working albeit with a crack/dent,then its still working,:uhh: you really don't want to be messing about inside with internal components of an appliance that by your admission is working fine..
You don't want to worry about the 'outer dents and other damage', cos they are just signs of a vaporizer that is living the life.
I mean who doesn't drop their vape, I dropped my Volcano digit on the floor and was Paro(noid) for a 'while' until I got a grip, and what do you know! Over a year later, and The Digit is still working 'as sweet as a nut' the moral of the tale is;
What matters, is what works....

Put 0.2 in reducer capsule

Not much smoke

But woo woo

Need to work on technique I think

Too used to deep pulls on pax 2

My friend, a word to the wise, you certainly can get clouds with the reducer (depending on the strain) if you put it up to No7. However, if you want the boom boom boom pow, then you'd best fill up the 'proper chamber', and put that at 6, or better still, 7, and do some slow long draws (around 10 -15 seconds) you'll know!

Ps; make sure to get rid of that vapor that lodges in the coil, in between tokes, cos it can be hot and nasty!

Ok
Third session

Reloaded capsule -packed it more but still not ama dense pack or even a firm pack

Got some vapor on 4/5th draw but still wispy
Getting high tho

Herb is very fine grind dried out

On pax 2 where I packed it fairly dense
I was getting pretty big tasty clouds early on especially -but stronger high w P

Guidance appreciated

Grind
Pack ?

Was going as slow on draw as I imagined humanly possible -extending out to slow count to 15

ABV from round 1light brown

I like My PLENTY for a certain experience?
I use others as well!
My need is MEDICATED before Anilation.
Now I do use the PLENTY a lot!
5.75 is my level I currently use?

What is you’re level?

I start at 6.5, pack mine tight (at least a gram) with fine ground material, wait until heat lamp clicks off and take long slow draws. The third draw is when it really starts producing, I just keep going until vapor visibly drops off then turn the dial to 7 and keep going on my J-hook or if I am feeling naughty I will swap to my 18mm GonG cap to finish the bowl in a hurry through one of my more restrictive bongs(don't forget to tap the black filling chamber cap before swapping so your puck stays in the s/s filling chamber).
That S/S coil not only tastes like shit compared to glass but it also robs you of a lot of vapor.
You can hold your breath and wait for S&b to bring out a decent glass mouthpiece, same as the reducers, they got sick of people asking for them and finally realised they could make some more money, so after a few years they did. Just like a glass mouthpiece upgrade for your Mighty, every bit helps.

I mainly use capsules lately with .15 fine grind.
Heat on level 7, wait for click then put entire chamber on.
Start pulling, no need for a slow draw imo, first hit maybe a tad whispy, but the 2nd and 3rd are the golden ones. Near the end of the third pull, I remove the chamber whilst still drawing to cool off the load. Gather thoughts, pull the trigger and wait for click to repeat 3 hit process. I can get an average of 15 of these pulls from one cap with .15 pending on strain.
I like a full load every now and then in the stock chamber, just hard when I see how big a mound a full gram is laid out. And multi sessions with a full load leave me wishing I had had a fresh tasting pull in there somewhere, just me.
I have no problem with the coil or the flavor it puts out and I don't really like the Plenty through water.

5days out

1. First couple of days
Sinking feeling -my old hacked pax 2might be better than this -

now not so - plenty rocks vs pax 2 in all respects besides flavor. Now flavor is personal but with my mod pax 2sends out low air resistance dense big flavorful while clouds. Not the plenty. But it wows the head and might be more economical too.

I tried plenty in the following modes. In the following order.

Reducer no capsule -disappointing
Herb all over the place

Reducer with capsule -loose pach-disappointing

0.2 gm with abv layered on top to fill chamber - finally start to appreciate it s bit but still second to the pax

Full pack 1-1.2gm herb -got around 10-12 sessions but the last few sessions you are just waiting for the bowl to finish

Reducer -packed firm w 0. 2gm -first time it outperformed pax 2 wrt head high/economy -but marginally

0.2 gm in full chamber with liquid pad cover ( for comparison to br accurate I packed both pax 2snd full chamber with s similarly packed capsule and then inverted ) - wow -getting 3sessiond At 9-10

Waiting for small size liquid pad to try 1/2 capsule .
