I am looking to do 0.05-0.06 gm per dose. I bet dosing capsule holds more than that.
Thats exactly what the bent glass stem holds.
Sounds like youre a perfect candidate for either that or the WPA. I only use the stem. Ill half pack it with .02-03 and go straight to 400 to one-hit it with a few cleanup hits. Ive done less than that too. Its very efficient for a vape thats only half convection. With the glass you cant really save the rest for a later session unless you get a rubber cap to cover the chamber with. Ive got one and it works out well for packing the stem with a litte 2 session load. But Ive been 1 hitting it more and more.

Has anyone tried 315-320F with the glass MPs on their F2? The flavor at that temp is what I think people are hoping for/wishing for out of this vape. And I still get vapor.

I got my dosing capsules today and they're a bit too small for me considering that I don't want to microdose but to quickly reload my vape.
Does anyone know if there are any bigger capsules made for a different vape that still fits into the Fury bowl?

I think you're SOL here. I suspect HR made them as large as they could and still fit, wouldn't you?

The 'pods' for the Flower Mates (both herb and concentrate will fit in but are too tall for the MP to fit over them:
https://www.puffitup.com/Flowermate-Dry-Material-Tanks-p/fm.113_pod-dry-2pk.htm
https://www.puffitup.com/Flowermate-Concentrate-Tanks-p/fm.114_pod-wax-2pk.htm

I suggest you try your original plan 'quickly reload' with a fresh capsule? You don't have to cool off the F2 to do this provided you have a place to put the hot capsule. I've used a small silicone container and even my empty shirt pocket (all cotton shirt of course).

I've also been known to 'spike' the capsules by grinding fairly fine and mixing in one gram of bubble hash with 2 grams of herb to absorb any leaking. This doubles the THC content, cutting reloads in half and tends to 'go and go and go'. This means you have to have access to Bubble Hash of course, but that's something offered in Dispensaries around here and can be half the price per gram of premium buds. Easy to make 'at home' (you need a series of mesh bottomed bags) if you have access to bulk herb (a grower?), it's made from 'shake' and lower grades of herb typically.

Good luck with it.

Agreed - I think HR made them as big as they can be. However, and judging by @OF's photo of the Flower Mate pod which appears too tall, there still may be an option with the Flower Mate pod. The o-ring/screen does insert on either side and one side has a deeper well, and that could face down to the chamber to take up a bit more height. But looking at the picture it does look tall.

As for grind, capsules are indeed great for finely ground material perhaps too fine for the chamber and falling into the internals. I recently ran extremely low on flower and put some wonderfully aged kief in some capsules - which BTW the plastic tube they were shipped in from HR is perfect for storing them, preferably full :) - to take up some slack and it worked very well with no mess in the chamber. Another trick was to put in just a touch of flower in the chamber and then some kief on top so again avoiding finely ground from falling through. This worked very well too.

EDIT: a buddy recently gave me an F2 wax pad which I haven't yet and he suggested putting a tiny layer of flower under the pad to catch any concentrate. But the bottom flower layer is the point here. Enjoy :leaf:

Portable Hoarder
how well does it do with half a load and come back later to finish it off.
How many minutes from turning on to turn off for a half load? Or would it be better to just not pack all the way. I thought I read the fury does better lightly packed but full.
I use a half load often. The flavor & vape is not as full bodied as with a full oven, but it is still very good and just as potent.
After coming back for another session the taste is (reasonably) not as fresh but it is still decent. As a comparison, if I do that with my Crafty, the taste is downright awful and I usually just choose to cash it out.

I am looking to do 0.05-0.06 gm per dose.
I measured out .05 g last night, which is about half oven, and here is what I got from it:
At 365F I had 5 mostly flavorful hits and then bumped it up to 390F for 3 more hits before it shut down.
Later, I reheated and got 4 more decent hits at 390F, then bumped it up to 425F. I got 3-4 more whispy hits that didn’t taste great, but still better than the Crafty on a second session first hit.

I just make sure I turn it off right before I take the last pull, so that last pull cools down the heater and bowl.
Just as @Ramahs said, I too take one last draw when I turn it off to cool it down quickly. It seems to help preserve the leftovers.

I gave this a shot - and was shocked to see vapor! (Not a lot, but damn, surprised to see any!!)
The flavor was very good, but no different than at 365 (for me). Thanks for the suggestion! Glad I tried it. I may do that low temp more often.
I just want to clarify - I really like the flavor of the F2. I have plenty of vapes that have terrible flavor (that I don’t use anymore) and the Fury runs circles around them. I just think it is not its biggest strength and I want to put it out there for prospective buyers, especially if they are flavor chasers.

Of course flavor is somewhat subjective, so fantastic flavor for one person may be terrible for others. Like Brussel Sprouts - I don’t care how it is prepared, it still tastes awful. If one more person tries to convince me that their recipe will change my view on them, I am going to... well, leave the room, vape a little and try it one last time. (Seriously, what is up with all my friends/family and Brussel Sprouts?)

Hey now...I've enjoyed brussel sprouts with butter, salt, & pepper (and maybe some vinegary hot sauce) since I was a child!

I had to convince myself that packing a half load is ok to do and have been liking the less effects from a half load... It has seemed wasteful to not fully load the vape but this vape works great with any size load I've found. after my session is done that half pack is about a quarter pack ( a tiny pinch )when its dried up ABV. just conserving that Good Good is great and fits the East coast waiting scenario ... waiting, waiting, expecting

315 gives much better flavor than 365;) It doesnt produce nearly as much vapor so it has to. I can tell a difference for sure, especially with smaller / half packed loads. I think people just need to lower the temp more than they think in order to hit flavortown with the Fury. I've been starting at 320 and finishing at 420.

I believe THC extraction starts at 365, which is why it's a golden number for some. Not all but some, including myself.

I've been regularly vaping for 3.5 years now - not exclusively as I have combusted very infrequently during this time and still enjoy a once-in-a-blue-moon bowl or joint - and no matter which vape I use, mine or a friend's (in which there are many compared to my paltry collection), the first draw on a fresh load tastes better than anything after it. Plain and simple. Subsequent draws taste OK, some better than others, and I'm not a cloud chaser at all nor do I subscribe to high temps - anything above 375 is unnecessary for me. Just a personal preference and everyone has their own 'method'. :peace:

My faves are sprouts and broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, sweet potatoes, carrots and rutabaga
I haven't tried these in my F2.
I might have to try these lower temps, I am getting on and my eyesight was never great, so I can't tell what the temperature is and just leave it on flat out and hit it while it is warming up once or twice before the light changes to green then finish off another rip or 2 on the bong. One WPA bowl was gone in 2 drags and 2-3 rips, all in less than 3 minutes.:haw:

Actually THC vapes at 315F (https://www.steephill.com/science/cannabinoids), and by 356F you've got CBD as well. As the temperature gets higher though the rate at which THC degrades to CBN is higher (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2921171/):

Chromotography (HPLC) analysis revealed that the processed systems contained at least 94% of THC and the relative percent formation of CBN was 0.5% at 120°C [248F] and 0.4% at 160°C [320F] compared to 1.6% at 200°C [392F].

That study is about making some kinda polymer with THC in it, but that seems to indicate that you lose a negligible amount of THC (max. 6% -- so if your strain is 20% and you vape at 392F it would be like 94% of 20% = 18.8%) at higher temperatures. I imagine this is true for all cannabinoids and terpenes, so as you vape at a lower temp you get more efficient in terms of how many hits the flavour and high will last for.

As you push below 350F and through 310F you will be changing what terps and noids you're getting, so you'll get different flavours and effects. :)

There's other shit too like THCV and CBC that only vape at a really high temp (https://www.reddit.com/r/trees/comments/8siax6/temperature_chart_for_specific_cannabinoids_and/) but I don't know much about them. Apparently CBC might be useful medically?

if you imagine the clumped up ball of herb in the middle the heat touches the edges mostly to vaporize there... usually herb clumps and heat only hits the edge so a higher heat would not reach the center ETC

Took the Fenix Mini out for a few sessions.

Very simple controls, super pocketable, and endless clouds. With a .15g size bowl, the Mini does an excellent job extracting as much as possible from your herb, recording upwards of 8 creamy hits throughout a full session that were nice and cool, never harsh. While it's great at consistently producing vapor, taste seemed to be masked by an overwhelming plasticy taste from the mouthpiece. Not a huge deal but I like tasting what the herb has to offer.

The Mini offers great clouds but the effects felt somewhat delayed. A heavy user could probably blow through an entire session but feel like they're not quite there, just from my personal experience.

Overall, a very solid experience for either group or solo sessions.

In my experience this goes away quite fast. It's not the best tasting vape then, but absolutely ok and it's overall features are just great. The Fenix is sold at some 85 Euros which is helluva great price for what it does.

That’s really good to know, thanks. Those few things aside, yeah it’s definitely a solid option that I’d definitely pick up once in a while for on-the-go sessions. It’s been great sharing with the lady as we’re walking around the city or out hiking somewhere and the price point makes it that more attractive.

Thanks for the reply.

Try dry hits thru a glass MP and start about 30F lower than you usually do before saying that the F2 flavor isn't great.
I've never used the stock MP because I don't want to deal with cleaning it and I know the flavor won't be as good with it.

Yeah I’d do that with any vape to improve the flavor. For what it is, the stock piece isn’t all that bad. Cleaning it is pretty easy with a brush and the taste isn’t a deal breaker. Love me some glass so I imagine I’ll throw it on a piece at some point.

Positive story for HR:

Artisan craft fair here every Sunday. Couple weeks ago, saw vendor vaping on a classic Vapir N02. What would you do? I had to intervene. Gave him my year old Fury2, along with 30 seconds of instructions. Got too many vapes, and Palm with carts is my choice while walking now.

I returned today, wanted to get a picture of the N02 and send it to @Vitolo

He’s sitting in his booth using the Fury. Said he put the N02 away because he loves the Fury so much.

Asked what he likes better about it. Fast warmup was first. When selling from booth or rehearsing, he wants a quick session. Then how small it was, how it was easy to hold and put away. I had forgotten to tell him about the 4 minute timeout, but he said he figured it out first session and likes it at 4min, as it matches up well with the bowl quantity. Told me he ordered capsules and glass already, (guess that's why they print the web site on the side) and three guys in his band said they’re jumping on board as well

Inch by inch, row by row ...

I get into routines. I've owned my F2 for about a year now. I use it 4-6 days a week when I'm outside, less often inside. But I'm watching my Sox at the WS, drinking my second 9.5% Belgian tripel, and I tried it at 405F where I'd left it after ramping up. I use dosing caps exclusively. This thing is awesome. I liked it before for convenience and cleanliness, again especially with the dosing caps, quick heating, and damn reliable. But liked my hits from other vapes--mainly VapeCap and Crafty--better because they were bigger hits. Turning up the heat from the git go makes the hits very good. Fewer hits but much richer. I'd rather have one or two of these hits than more at my usual 375F.

I will start at 320 for a quick flavor hit and then bump it straight to 400-410 for the rest of the session. Big flavor and big clouds all in one very satisfying session!
And yes Im so happy the Sox #beatLA!
