Anyone tried pure THC (98+%) ?

I've tried to find someone who has described the HIGH from pure THC (aka "THC isolate") that has no other cannabis components. But none of the articles on the web talk about this in any coherent way.

Our state implemented mandatory testing of cannabis products sold on July 1st, so everything here has a THC percentage on it.

I've bought products that are 10-15% THC and products that are over 30% THC, and in the over 30% THC products, I could find nothing that was "more" or "increased" in the effects as compared to the 10-15% THC cannabis.

So, I thought that if I could try 99% pure THC, I might then know what was the "THC" part of the experience. :) But none of the nearby stores have it.

Any thoughts?

sorry, screwed up the edit, too tired to fix it...

answers are in here.

You're basically describing Marinol (except that it's synthesized), it is just PURE THC, nothing else.
From accounts of patients who used it, it would get you high as a kite (and press folks anxiety buttons), but since it lacked the other compounds and any entourage effect, I would find it an empty and unpleasant experience.

when you say 'products', are we talking flower here? or edibles? concentrates?

it still boils down to the flower.
if you've got a grow with a nice character to it, you want to maintain that as you make products from it...
but most folks are in a mad dash, or only paying attention to THC.
All the other cannabinoids, ESPECIALLY the terpenes come into play defining the qualities of the particular variety (sorry, not found of the 'viral' description of cannabis cultivars).

You could have a product with 15% THC, and a full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes, vs a product with 25% THC and NO other compounds. They will be VASTLY different experiences.

it just would keep activating the 5-HT receptor over and over without as much other receptor activation as gained from more compounds in the formula. FAAH too would be depleted more ETC.......

It's not perfect, and she keeps calling CBD "cannabinoid", but it shows the effects of THC vs THC + CBD

wow, a 10 year old piece of BBC propaganda during one of their more ridiculous phases :(

would love to see the study methodology :). Why did they not show CBD on it's own as well.

synthetic or natural sources? dosages? effects of bypassing the liver?

Sorry, I just don't buy it.

I’ve had 91% THC in the distillates oil carts. I live in a legal state where products are tested. I have some now in BlackBerry.

I never said it was perfect, but it doesn't seem to be too negative or anti-cannabis.

The woman's reactions don't seem to "out there" if you consider the fact that THC can cause paranoia and worry, and that CBD seems to mitigate that.

Sorry, I felt, and still feel, that it did appear negative :(

Both cases seemed be showing her 'out of control'. Hence my followup questions.

That was just f**king rediculous. I've dabbed 98% THC distillate on a dozen occasions, and it's the exact opposite of the way that nutty woman was acting. I used it when I wanted to get up and happily do things, not be depressed. lol

And would someone please explain to her that THC IS A CANNABANOID!!!

Regardless of the video's truthfulness, I would imagine that taking pure THC through an IV would be pretty intense, especially for someone with no tolerance. If the experience went south, it could feel pretty terrible.

What do you guys think about this?

Personally, while I've tried various forms of isolates, for me nothing beats whole plant extracts.
The entourage effect is kind of critical for me.

FWIW, I've been enjoying some "Premium Rosin" from Field Extracts (CA) that is listed as 95% THC. Very tasty and strong. It's great in my EVO and I just discovered that at low temps (around noon on the dial) the high is far more cerebral than at higher temps (say around 1:30-2)--where it packs a punch to the body. Of course, YMMV.

Best,

So how would you describe the difference of effects - between this 91% THC and something much lower, like flower?

Most people don't really realize it but when your using buds and getting high it affects your whole body in many ways including but not exclusively your head. But when you increase just the thc it becomes much more one dementional. I find even some really high thc buds can be one dementional. But like mentioned by someone earlier in this thread when you have more rounded buds, or concentrates really, with good natural terpenes it's a more enjoyable experience. This is just my opinion, I'm sure others may feel different. Especially someone with a specific condition that one particular cannabinoid helps, but I think most users like the whole enchilada.

Uh, I've seen Crutch review Pure THC. He's certainly not interested in descriptions beyond "Wow! Ohmigawd! I'm totally baked!" etc.

I get a 91% distillate that cannabis derived terpenes are added back for a terpene profile. Made by SAP, you can also get pure or as close @94%. The high from the no added terpenes is a cerebral high that leaves you with an out of body feeling very spacey. Now the distillates with the terpenes added back in will fuck you up. Totally different high. Depending on the blend it's a smack dab terp party in your face. Still can't compare the high to a good rosin. Really need the full spectrum for the killer highs.

Along those lines. But not a typical high energy buzz. More like a intense introspective floating on air high. Well worth the try. Rosin gives me the best overall buzz. But for stealth purposes the distillate is the way to go. No smell and I use the ccell palm so very small. Great for if you have to go into a hospital or some other place where discretion is needed. RSO capsules and a couple of good rips on my palm and who needs pain killers?

I have some Oleum Extracts Wizard Stones, which are 98-99% THCA. They look like opaque white crystals with just the slightest hint of the yellow/orange waxy color of concentrates. I usually use it in conjunction with another concentrate or with flower but the small amounts I’ve tried alone are very low in flavor, even if I use 2-3x as much as I would with typical concentrate. Effect wise I’d agree with the above that it’s a somewhat empty, disconnected feeling compared to a higher terpene concentrate. It’s definitely a bit one note.

I’ll try some more by itself tonight and report back!
