The Nomad From Morwood

Received one of @KeroZen stainless steel stems today. The fit is little tight but with a little light twisting fits in there nice and snug. I image keroZen nomad has a bit more usage and will be a perfect fit once my seal becomes more broken in.

I need to really sit down and compare it too the wood and glass stems. I did do one stem and feel it seems to be cooler. Sorta reminded me of the hits that my elevape use to provide. Once get some time in with it I will add addition thoughts on performance.

I like the looks of it and the unbreakable aspects a lot. I haven't really used the glass stem since I received the @Alan wood stem.

Can already tell going be a much harder choice between the wood and steel. Can only do limited sessions with the nomad so might be a bit till I can honestly compare them.

Figured some pictures are in order. First one is with the @KeroZen SS stem. The other 2 pictures are more for a size comparison.

Yeah the OD is really the intended 14mm that Dan designed around, but I'm under the impression most of our glass stems are rather on the lower end of the tolerance range (I posted my diameters back then, don't recall the exact values but they were more 13.8xx or 13.9xx)

So yes glass stems, when they are under 14mm are easier to insert. If I recall correctly Dan gave us instructions on how to lubricate the o-rings such that insertions are silky smooth? I already forgot what product we were supposed to use though (as some lubricants are not silicone friendly)

If you guys could measure your glass stem diameters and post the values here that could be interesting.

When I mentioned to Dan that I planned to turn myself a wooden stem he said that the Nomad stem is "14mm OD, 11mm ID. If you want to turn a wooden stem, make it 13.95mm for a perfect fit." so it makes sense that your SS stems fit snug.

Nice pics @HerbieVonVapster, are both the Millana and Bud 'OG' issues?
That's a nice looking little trio there (but the Nomad takes the prize!).

Good point and thank you again. I really been enjoying using this stem today. Made me realize I need bug Dan even more for some magnets or even just a spring.

Come on Dan pretty please. I really want to be able to get more use outa this vaporizer. Currently i'm not able too with out undo strain on my thumb and hand. I already have had to retire too many other good vaporizers in the last few months due to my hands worsening. Please help me keep my nomad in rotation it's much to nice to just be sitting on the vape bar unused.

I blame above rant solely on keroZen new stem, I might have over medicated and now i'm buzzed enough to beg lol.

The Milaana is from one first batches that has the lifetime warranty. The glass was replaced a couple months back. I'm not sure if Ryan updated the heater. Came back from repair with the blue glass and a blue stem. Was a really pleasant surprise.

The lil bud is from the recent batch 7b. Mike always making new improvements on the lil bud. I have a lil bud elite prototypes on order so it's is going be interesting to compare it to my current LB.

Got my email Friday! Couldn't be more excited. Just caught up with the last 40 or so pages of the thread and that only served to increase my excitement XD A huge thanks to Dan and everyone who has contributed to this thread.

Just don't know how to decide. There is no paper from the available options that I really love. There are a few that I would be okay with, but it's rather difficult to decide on one.

Get Dan to make one custom. Seems like it may be worth the extra investment since this is such a large purchase anyway.

I already am spending above my means. I don't need to go for the highest price upgrades. I don't got it like that, lol

I already want burl.

@Ramahs Take a second look at the Milk Painted sleeves. It's hard to capture in a photo... but they look, feel, and wear great.

I'll do two-tone milk painted designs at no extra cost as well.

And add my logo stamp to the corner... just like my Okin boxes.

Also, the raw kraft is underrated... it's a sweet look I think.

Yeah, I liked your pics of the raw kraft with some patina. I'm considering it.

Is there really a wrong choice?

Very excited to see the mock ups of batch 3, Dan's been quiet, I'm thinking batch 2 is close!

Yeah, there are...but pictures have made me think parts of it it could start rubbing off in a year or two of regular use, so maybe the craft brown or one of the milkpaint colors might be the better idea in the long run...but then again, they look too plain for this vape, to me at least.

I do still like this paper though:

This one could take some wear, and still look like it was supposed to look that way.
And it gives it that "scavenger" look that I remember Dan saying he was going for from early on. I liked that idea from the start.

Decisions, decisions...

Yeah, tough one.
I'm trying to decide between a red and black Yuzen wave, and the plain craft finish.
I had decided on the wave, but the plain craft is also really growing on me.
(I too really like that scavenger look).
I think I'll leave the final choice to Dan, he'll know which suits the vape better, since he'll have it in front of him, and I like his aesthetic approach.

I wish I hadn't let the charcoal put me off getting an Okin when he was making them.
Since I have conceded defeat to the fact that I now collect herb vapes, missing the Okin is more than a little .
VERY glad to be in on the Nomad though.
Shit, if I had the cash I'd get a second one to keep pristine for the collection, and one to use the hell out of :whip:

Hey guys nomad #67 needs your help!

It was hard enough to get it down between these three, now im really torn LOL.s

Elder Burl and intense gold flowers on black - I do love how the elder burl threads and strains look more than the two olive burls below, but think the two below look a bit better as whole units?

Olive burl and bigger gold flowers on black - This one is both mine and Dan's favorite

Olive burl and gold Japanese calligraphy on black - this was my first choice, mostly torn between this and above

Let me know what you think :)

The olive burl blew me away, and both papers are beautiful, but I prefer the calligraphy
