I was going to see if a return was a possibility, but so far no response from RBT.

To be fair, fit/finish is a total pet peeve of mine. It’s not like egregiously bad or anything. Enough to bum me out though. It doesn’t help that I had zero need for another vape, and my excitement had dwindled to the point I was kind of lukewarm on it before it was even delivered.

The only people getting a pass on plastic at this point is S&B, and even then I’d prefer they refresh their line and use nicer materials.
I spoke to Ryan today. As @Snowman said above, he's been burried in Splinter but he's digging out. Said he checked his email for anyone discussing craftsmanship issues and didn't see anything. What email did you use to contact him?

A couple more observations of my Mi 2.

The reduced internal diameter of the Mi 2 stem (compared with the stems of my 1.5) definitely allows for a more controlled hit. I rarely used the 18mm stem with my 1.5 since it holds a good amount of material and with its wide open flow naturally delivers more goods per hit than I tend to desire. I never managed to make the 18 mm match my vaping style, so eventually I went with the DDave 14mm mod almost exclusively. The Mi (regardless of the model) with a 14mm stem is a highly effective and highly conservative method of vaping.

With the Mi 2, I find my self better able to enjoy the thicker 18mm stem. Its slightly reduced internal diameter / airflow makes for better conservation. It can still deliver a full throttle hit, but is also better able to provide less than full throttle hits than the 1.5. While I'll still be favoring my 14 mm stem, I'm keeping the 18mm within reach for when I want it.

Another mention I'd make after a week or so of using the Mi2 is that I got a walnut Mi 2, and there has been a slight wood taste (not at all unpleasant to me) that I didn't pick up on in my 1.5 maple. Maple is less odiferous naturally, I believe, so that probably accounts for the bulk of the difference. The position and size of the air inlet on the Mi 2 may also cause more contact between air and wood. But after a week or so of use, it is almost imperceptible and I'm sure it will be gone soon. Just thought it fair not to ignore this piece of info, since I know some folks are sensitive to such matters.

"Just FYI, the Mi2 is a released product, not an "upcoming and unreleased" product, available today"

It has been released yes, but currently it is out of stock completely.

Received my Milaana2 a couple of weeks ago and have used it exclusively since its arrival. The Solo, E-nano, and Mighty look to be redundant since none of them offer the convenience, flavor, or ease of use delivered by the Mi2. I am a purely at home, individual vaporizer user, and the on-demand unregulated nature of the Mi2's design totally fits my requirements. I have very limited dexterity of my hands and truly appreciate the simplicity of using the Mi2. It delivers incredible flavor, the vapor is nice and cool, and it is easy to control the amount of vapor produced. The learning curve is almost non-existent since you can easily tell what is happening to the material while you are taking your draw. The things I find inconvenient are those inherent to all convection vaporizers, at least it seems to be the nature of the beasts. To achieve complete and thorough vaporization of the material it has to be stirred, and turning the stem holding the material after a couple of draws is required to give it an even vape. Still very minor requirements to get great tasting, cool, copious vapor to help you through the night and day. The Mi2 is very efficient, I get almost a dozen draws from a very lightly tamped top hat screen load, though of course that is very subjective to my lung capacity and cough reflex. I have used LG HG2, Sony VTC5A, and Sony VTC6 batteries and cannot really tell the difference between them as to how the Mi2 performs, though it seems the VTC5A has the least longevity of the three. I may try one of the Samsung's but I doubt it will be any different. One thing I have noticed is the heat up time is a bit longer than most have suggested. Pressing the button for a 10 count will produce a light first draw, less than 10 produces mostly flavor and no visible vape on my exhale. After the material has been heat soaked a 3-5 count before drawing and releasing after you feel the vapor hitting your throat gives a nice amount of vape. I do feather the intake hole when vapor feels a little bit light and it kicks up the volume nicely. I have not come close to combustion. In my humble opinion, the Milaana 2 is head and shoulders above the other vaporizers I owe. Fit and finish is high quality, though the battery compartment and hatch could definitely benefit from some modification. It is smaller than the original Milaana and not as free flowing, but I think those are positive changes and make the Mi2 superior to the original. I hope Ryan and RBT can continue producing convection vaporizers and be supported for the innovation and quality designs.

Yeah it's a tremendous vape. The first iteration was the vape that maximized my vaping experience now this one tops it for many of the reasons you mention.

One thing I have noticed is the heat up time is a bit longer than most have suggested.

The trigger timing on my 2 is much like the timing on my 1.5. I was thinking I might have to tone down my trigger time on the 2, believing I might have had one of the milder 1.5s and that maybe the 2 was a little more robust. But nope; there's consistency in the tech on my 2 Mis which is hats off to rbt.

With a freshly charged cell, I hold 5 secs, release for a moment, then hold another 5 secs, release a moment, then continue to hold while I start drawing, slowly at first then building up draw speed according to my wants. 15 - 20 secs total on a fresh cell before I've had a nice hit. When I go back next time, I'm likely to do the same timing, maybe extending the last hold a little. Then the following visit I count 6-6-6+. By the time I've reached a 7-7-7+ count, it's time to rotate to a fresh cell. Could run the cell deeper but I don't. I'm using the same 3 LG HG2s that I got with my 1.5 (must be at least 2 yrs. now?) and they may not provide as many sessions but they still serve me quite well. I keep telling myself I'll pick up some new ones but I keep postponing.

Wow other people are getting Milaana 2s, nice! Finally people will be able to realize why I enjoyed it so damn much.

Still need to send mine in, it was a quick put together beta and the glass came out after a lot of use with the bubbler. Absolutely beautifully crafted unit though.

My glass came loose, too. Comparison with my 1.5 suggests that an effort was made to use less adhesive with the Mi 2. There seems to have been just a tiny bit used on the ledge at the top of the space into which the female joint sets. Probably done this way to keep the air path totally clear. I still can use mine, as the screen that sits above the coil is fixed to the bottom of the female joint, so while the glass is loose, it doesn’t come out unless I pull it out, which I did once. I didn’t look closely to see how the screen was fixed there. Guess I should do. When I get around to it, I’ll identify some safe fixative, clean off the ledge and reset the glass. I’ll take a closer look at that screen when I do.

When is this bad boy coming to Canadian retailers? I wanted to purchase a Milaana 1 but no retailers in Canada have them anymore. I've been waiting ages to get a milaana.

Unless you demand brand new you could consider looking in the classified ads. You may find a Milaana there and if not, you can make a "want to buy" ad and see what happens.

Mi product line has been discontinued according to Ryan.
Not sure how much stock he has left or if any will be sent to retailers or just sold from his store once it reopens.

I also got my purpleheart Mi 2 today.

This is by far the nicest vape RBT has produced. I have 3 Mi 1's, the zion, and a splinter and this blows them all out of the water in terms of fit and finish. It is sanded perfectly smooth everywhere, even on the end grain on the top and bottom of the unit.

The new milled copper plate looks incredible. I know it's really a small aesthetic detail but it take the whole vape up to this level where the Mi 1 is clearly "garage-made", the Mi 2 feels "professionally made" if that makes sense.

I still don't really like the pick solution, but I AM glad this safety feature is included now. I removed mine.

It's really comfortable in the hand. I like the symmetrical look and feel to it. It feels great in the hand and significantly smaller than the Mi.

I don't know what we're calling the gnome-style cooling stems, but I like it. It's a shorty that looks cool as hell and seems to provide the cooling of a longer stem without the delay in feedback of a longer stem.

The new intake hole/carb is a HUGE improvement. It's in the perfect spot too, very easy and comfortable to use.

Ryan should be proud of how far he's come as a vape maker.

I got my exotic milaana yesterday and while i've throughly enjoyed it theres something wrong with it that really put a damper on it for me. Basically my top screw isn't straight and I can't put the battery in without scraping the casing really hard without unscrewing and removing the bolt on the top. It looks like this https://imgur.com/a/6oXBkuV . Think i'm going to put in an RMA request, but any advice is appreciated. Huge shoutout for extra xlerator stem though, this thing is my favorite stem.

Awesome! Have the first one, love it, but couldn’t ever get the most out of it. I suspect it is a cold unit, works wonders though but not like I’ve seen. Was original run, veryyyyy interested in this! Although I was interested in a Zion, but now I have a dual 18650 TC mod and discovered the spilnter will be watching both!

18mm big wide bowl was my problem, saw the ddave mod didn’t purchase but I know it would help me heaps. This thing looks amazing though might just have to order it.
