So Vrod Carb Cap Rev C

Its a marriage between the Lollicap and the Vrod carb cap.

1- Some of the new features will include the fact that it actually sits on the dish as opposed to it sitting on the Vrod itself, this in itself causes it to seal off better.

2 - Additionally, Ruby Balls will not have all that space to bounce around in but will be restricted to the dish. Because Ruby Balls!

3 - Finally, the Vrod Carb Cap is now compatible with all of our 28mm Enail set ups because it no longer restricts the center hole in those particular set ups.

The official ship day is today

Also, Im sure the photo below will answer a lot of questions. Ed said it was cool to share this BP and the revs.

Very cool! This means that now you have an equivalent to the d-nail halo as well ...

ie.

- Male Titanium Enail Body 14mm, 18mm (2586) - $30
- Quartz Dish Fastener Short (2862) - $10
- 28mm New Vape Sic Dish (9264) - $25
- VRod Carb Cap (3137) - $40

Total cost is $105

Supply your own enail controlller and flat coil.

Now if Edwyn would build that 14mm only as opposed to 14/18 combo base I'd really be interested in picking this up to add to my collection :) ... not a huge fan of the combo bases and I've been waiting months for my 14mm base from d-nail! Might have to go ahead and just order an updated carb cap if not a base at any rate

Hey @newvape918 ,
Any chance you can do a revision D Carb Cap with 1 or possibly 2 angled holes? So the Rubies can run laps...and dance. :brow:

Yes, yes, and yes!

I'd buy that Rev D Vrod carb cap in a heart beat! Going to probably wait til Black Friday to buy the Rev C cap.

I've mainly been doing dabs in my 710Coil's banger, playing with all my rubies/sapphires, so completely forgot about angled slots in the cap! I know it was discussed earlier in the thread when the rubies started hitting the scene, but forgot about it.

Thank you for bringing it back up!

I've been bugging Ed to do a 10/14mm male combo instead of the 14/18.
And I want it out of MACOR..... ;)

Would anyone else be interested in something like that?

I'm thinking this would allow SiC and Sapphire halos to finally be used on flavor saver 10mm rigs without any clunky dropdowns, adapters, or fear of heat cracked color joints.

I like it! 10/14 would be as good as just 14 :)

By then, hopefully it will be the Rev D cap. I have heard others here and elsewhere state that angled hole(s) aid the spinning of the spheres, really makes those rubies sing while they dance. :brow: Not sure if that’s actual factual or not but it seems logical on the face of it.

Love that gif btw, I could use that for several NewVape products if I’m honest!

@Baron23 is the member that sold me on the PLT and I’ve been recommending it since. Best thing ever!

Okay so a few pages back when having the coil discussion I had mentioned an amazon listing that I used for a 20mm dnail pinout coil for 42$ after shipping.

https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-...code+enail&dpPl=1&dpID=41IIu4NMclL&ref=plSrch

I bought one back in July when my Chinese coils wouldnt fit under the showerhead coil cover. I know the picture doesn't show a VROD compatible coil but the one I got from them most definitely is. Clockwise wrap, "5" wraps (really 4 + pigtail).

I emailed them last night with the VROD coil requirements and this is what they responded with -

"The secret is that New Vape orders enail units and coils from our factory:) so our coils work perfectly for New Vape products. One thing you need to pay attention is the coil size: 20 mm or 16 mm (diameter). For 20 mm coil, it is about 15-17 mm measuring from the top of the barrel to the bottom and the coil. For 16 mm ones, that is about 13-15 mm. Thanks and good luck!"

I've ordered 3 more which should be here next week just to be totally sure, I can measure the 4 I have before anyone else drops $ but I think this may be the cheapest and best option out there, especially if it's true they are New Vapes supplier or they use the same supplier as New Vape. You can even message them and have them change the pinout/connector for you from what I understand.

Maybe @NewVape710 @newvape918 could shed some light on this? I hope they arent lying but they did have some info that leads me to believe they are legit.

Edit: They were also insanely fast with their response....emailed them at like 7pm MT and got a response before 11pm with another message this morning confirming my pinout selection.

Second edit : when i said i hope they arent lying I was referring to the amazon seller saying they supply NV coils. Not NV lying about anything.

Lol  Newvape is really good at lying about coils. Everyone knows my stance here. From the jump I’ve said they could EASILY buy dnail wired vrod coils from they’re manufacturer but they have again and again come up with some insane excuse as to why they can not or even will not sell a “standard” dnail coil. They even made that incredibly unintelligent video about why “standard” dnail pinput isn’t really “standard” and why it’s not “safe” for them to sell “standard” coil options. If it is so unsafe how does every other company dnail included sell them..?

Thanks for the find dude. Will forsure help some people that want to use the VROD and not Newvapes really fucking shitty China PID. Also for anyone looking for a VROD coil for a non new vape controller, Shane from @710Coils is super helpful and active in this community and I know he’s been doing his best to stock VROD compatible coils.

I’m still rocking the SH daily, best vape I own by far. And for trates I’m on my 25mm axial coil and opaque banger. The SH just can’t be matched for flower. I had a GS for a while and sold it last week cuz it just wasn’t any better than the SH and it was so huge and hard to deal with. I also have a modded SV3 that can keep up with the SH in terms of flavor and effects but it’s just not as easy to use.

I doubt any vape will dethrone the SH any time soon. Hope everyone is having a great day. Stay vaped :peace::leaf:

I wasnt trying to throw New Vape under the bus or anything - I figured it was easy for them to get the dnail 5 pin coils but I thought NV said there were other pinouts of the same fitting so I figured it was more of a way to avoid having the possible issue of some stupid asshole buying the coil to the wrong 5 pin controller and starting a fire or something causing a lawsuit or bad headline or both.

And yes @710Coils was involved in the last coil discussion! I'll still be going to him in the future for larger diameter coils too and Im sure there will come a time where Amazon is out of stock of VROD compatible coils but 710coils isnt

@Oogendoogan let me try and wrap my mind around the entirety of your message. Your saying I'm a liar, a shitty actor, and I make bad business decisions. Then you praise the flowerpot. I'm not sure if I should be happy or pissed?

@tb42091 Nobody is thinking you were doing something sinister bro. You’ve already shown yourself to be nice and easygoing, sorry but that shit’s already out there. Everyone knows how you roll! :D

IIRC, the fact you can order the pin-out you want has come up in the thread before. I think. That NV gets their controllers & coils from them is common knowledge, they are indeed legit. I believe NV was the one who told us that their guys would do a different pin-outs. It’s all good and you’re right, that’s a killer price!

The vape and the stuff you manufacture is absolutely amazing dude. everything you guys do to make amazing products and the way you innovative is something I am more than happy to support with my word and my wallet. Now the sale of your Chinese PID units is something I don’t care to support at all, and the use of the seemingly rarest shaped coil on the market was an interesting choice to me. But I don’t think you should be pissed. And you never lied to me. This is probably the first time I’ve seen you respond. I usually stay away from this thread tho so I’m sorry if I missed a response before. Usually it’s @newvape918 or the older account that I believe is no longer active who respond and who I referred to lying about the coils just because I was personally given many different answers about them many of which ended up being untrue.

Keep up the amazing work with everything you guys do with making amazing vape products in the U.S. I don’t care to argue with you about the other parts of your business or how ordering coils from China or how Enails work. That sounds tiring and not worth the time. I do truly love your product and recommend it to everyone I know. It’s my daily driver and my favorite vape. Hope your having a good day.

Cheers

@Oogendoogan...I happen to think the PID New Vape sells is a very good PID...it does a fantastic job. I leave my VROD on about 18 hrs a day for over a year and not a whiff of a problem. When my New Vape PID does finally go out I will buy another PID from New Vape.

Just because something is made in China does not automatically make it shit. Take iphones as an example.

But once you get a controller with a knob, you'll never want to use your NV controller again!

I honestly don't care for the NV controller, but it was my first. The fiddly little buttons, changing temps was a hassle that I never liked. It slides around, since you're putting lateral pressure to it while changing temps. The little feet on mine have all slid around, and fall off from time to time. It takes forever to change temps clicking one by one, but once you hold the button, it quickly flies by the temp you wanted unless you have trigger reflexes!

I love my Auber RDK-300. Absolutely love it. Once Shane gets some more Vrod coils in stock, I'l be picking one up and putting my NV controller in the closet to collect dust. Would rather support 710Coils over the Amazon company, so don't mind waiting a bit.

Both the NV and Auber get the job done without issue. One is just much more user friendly, and frankly looks way better too. The white LED with black aluminum is sexy.

I do think that NV could get quite a bit more sales if they offered Vrod coils with a DNail pinout. There are lots of people who don't want to buy a proprietary controller/coil just to use the Vrod. It will be good that these sources for DNail Vrod coils are popping up, should open up the Vrod to a wider market.

@Roth ^THIS!^ This is my plan too. The RDK-300 gets a thumbs-up from too many folks I respect. Same for the coils from @710Coils I mean, members are raving everywhere about the quality all of his gear. For me, that Auber and a 710coil is the sexiest pairing with the V-Rod or SH. While I’m sure the vapecode/NV box is functionally fine, I’ve heard numerous people state the same frustrations in operation that @Roth does. Enough that I think I wouldn’t like it.

The MaxVapor controller is super nice as well but more features than I need & tiny screen and I really like the Auber’s old-school rotary knob and the BIG white LED because I’m getting old! :myday: Dang it!

But all respect for @BornAgainSteama and his views because he’s probably been using this controller for longer than most of us have been here. And he’s got this positive energy thing going on lately, it makes me uncomfortable frankly. I’m used to my Steama having a sting, but hey he’s been born again!

EDIT: “^THIS^“ refers to Roth’s post. @invertedisdead busted my groove.

@Roth, @pxl_jockey ... my next version of my eNail Magic PID that uses the Omron E5CC-QX2ASM-802 for the base (so I can control it through RS-485), is equipped with a rotary dial that by default you can use to adjust the temp :) ... I gain control of the Omron through the RS-485 interface that way I can get the best of both worlds ... a great PID with great 2-PID algorithm implementation, but the ability to enhance it and control it in fine grained ways :)

... off topic though!

Back to on topic ... so about that 10/14mm base :)

I concur, the buttons are not pleasing to use at all, the temperature controller in my opinion would be much better on the top of the unit and (as said) it needs to be a knob.

With the current configuration you have to pick it up to access the buttons, having picked it up the buttons are fiddly to locate and then they are horrible to operate.
When you press them they first go up or down in single units and then they Jump by about 50 degrees or so:uhoh:
maybe there is some underlying logic to the way this works and I'm just too dumb to grasp it?

It could be argued that I am just nitpicking after all the thing works doesnt it, just stop complaining why don't you Nina!
I would like it much better....I would enjoy using it, I may even become emotionally attached to it even if it was seamless and a pleasure to use.
As it is I no longer adjust the temperature, I leave it on 610 degrees I use fast and slow draw speeds and the carb cap to change the temperature:shrug:

I do love the rose gold finish though;)

Thank you for pointing out the hassles of changing the temp on our current controllers. I was under the impression that you all used the controller like me. Set it and forget it. Please remember that any change in controller temp whether it's buttons or rotary dial will require some heat soak time to have any effect.

I do like the idea of the rotary knob vers the buttons.

I just ordered a black auber RDK-200 and a 20mm coil for evaluation with the flowerpot.

Auber did just confirm that there products are also made in China.

https://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=45&products_id=459

@invertedisdead NewVape is machining the Dnail heat sinks.

Kudos to Dnail for willing to pay a premium to have there products made in the USA. We hope to machine more of their titanium parts in the future.
