Well, you can shove it in very intimate locations... say to cross borders when you travel to countries with very harsh prohibition laws... :p

Is the post that the pearl sits on made of silicone? I saw a comment on another site that said it was. Is there any silicone in the oven?

No silicone in oven.
Some holding mouthpiece, but it's almost entirely separate from the vapour path.
The post for the pearl is silicone, and inhabits the mouth of the bowl, but is mostly covered by the pearl itself.
Don't know about the other, hidden parts of the air/vapour path, but since Davinci went to the trouble of having a zirconium vapour path, I doubt that there's any (significant) silicone exposed to vapour.
I'd bet that the pearl post is the nearest thing to heat/air/vape, but until someone does a proper teardown of the mIQro we just have Davinci's description to go on.
There's certainly no taste of silicone from my mIQro (there was a pretty bad taste to start with, but I don't know if it was the silicone, and a quick swipe with ISO and a few burnoffs dealt with that)

Speaking of.....
Has anyone seen a teardown of the IQ?

It seems weird to me that they would use silicone for the post. I feel like steel or aluminum would be better but I'm not a vape designer.

I prefer no silicone in close proximity to heat but I will probably still pick one of these up.

Heat expansion/contraction of the pearl probably complicates this function, and silicone neatly side-steps this difficulty.
:2c:

I too prefer all neutral materials, but in this case I can't taste anything.
YMMV, but I haven't heard of any complaints of persistant robo-fart.

I think they used silicone because it is flexible and easier to clear the pearl in the oven when opening/closing.

But if you don’t use the pearl, or if you twist pearl low, there IS exposed silicone... I am not sure how to remove it, but it comes with an extra one so there must be a way to remove it. I’ll have to experiment.
As @Copacetic reported, I also have not tasted any off flavor. As a matter of fact, the flavor is excellent!

Davinci said:
And the battery- we have a 900Mah that comes stock, although our engineer said he was testing 1200 Mah batteries as well. If you can find one that's "really" 1200 Mah, might get an extra session or two out of the unit. We're always searching for upgrades here too.

I posted a few options right before the above Davinci post, but I still haven’t bought any yet because I’d like to buy a few different ones to see which is best. However, of all the “trusted” battery sites I know of, each only has 1 available..and I don’t want to buy from three different sites. Just waiting until more come into stock. Or I run out of patience.

By the by... I just discovered the poker that is housed in the unit by the battery. How did I not see it before? Nice touch for when out and about!

The IQ was already pocket sized. Dont really get the point of the miqro.

The mIQro may be a contender to the Pax III.

The one issue for the mIQro is the small capacity battery, a battery like the Pax’s 3500 mAh,
and we (will) have a winnah! DaVinci has always been oh so elegant, IMHO.

Battery power, please, @Davinci_vaporizer ! Li Polymer?

Hello, @StringTheorista ! :wave:Should be dropping in your lap, anytime now. Yes, let us know, please.

Lol just because you might not like it doesn't mean other people dont. Many people microdose to keep tolerance low, get medical benefits without getting slammed, etc.
thats simply not true most of the people that microdose are the hipsters that do anything trendy. If Da Vinci wants to market to the hipsters out there thats fine. You wont get slammed if you find your level of thc that works for you and if you do tolerance breaks occasionally there is no reason for microdosing, If you are afraid of the thc there are plenty low powered strains out there or just cbd itself.

Does micro dosing hurt you or affect your enjoyment?

If not then why does it matter and why even start with talking about hipsters.

If the idea of "hipsters" enjoying the same things as you bothers you or the concept of mirco dosing takes away from your enjoyment you might want to figure out why.

Like I said there are plenty of lower powered thc or no thc strains on the market for people that are afraid of getting a buzz . That and being responsible and doing tolerance breaks is the best way for most people. And the trendy hipsters are not what one should base their lifestyle by.

This site doesn't just cater for those who live in nice, easy legal situations with access to what you describe.
Some of us might microdose because it's all we can afford, or get hold of.
And there's medical users who want to feel better without getting high.
Afraid of a buzz?
Look around you at the site you're on

As an update I got my Miqro today, been at work so have not had a chance to try it yet.

So far, I am really surprised at the size but it has such a nice feel and weight to it, it feels so nice in my hand.

Tonight I will give it a try, this will be my first experience vaping dry herb and I am excited at the options this will open up to me.

Why are you being a douche? ino one was talking about who this site caters too stay on topic. If all you can afford is a tiny amount thats your business but to jump on the trendy hipster bandwagon and say that microdosing is the best thing since sliced bread go right ahead. Acting like there is something to be ashamed of like its bad to get a buzz when doing cannabis is counter productive and quite harmful and does nothing more than to continue and stigmatise the view that getting a buzz is bad and to be avoided.

Hope it meets your needs.
Obviously, it's too early to predict longevity, but so far I'm pleasantly surprised by the mIQro.
It seems to be a nice solid little performer.

BTW, if anyone in EU/UK is looking for batt's from a source who make an effort to buy and sell decent cells, try:
https://www.fogstar.co.uk/collections/batteries/products/vapcell-18350?variant=7509361229883

I've bought Sony 18650 VTC5a batts' from them on a couple of occasions, and am very happy with their performance/authenticity.
