And since a lot of my vapes read 115f and don’t feel as hot, I surmised the material makes a difference (I think my plastic vapes feel cooler).
The conductivity of the material definitely makes a difference to how hot something feels in our hands. If you touch a metal object (like a handrail or flagpole) on a hot day it will feel hotter than something like a piece of wood (like a tree) next to it; even though the wood and metal are the same exact temperature. The metal can conduct heat into your hand faster vs. wood. For example aluminum has a thermal conductivity rating of 205 while pine has a thermal rating of 0.15.

If you touch the same materials on a cold day, the metal will feel cooler than the wood since the transfer of thermal energy is going the other way (hand -> material) and heat only moves in one direction (hot to cold).

Personally I didn't find the IQ to get anywhere near "to hot to hold" for me, even after several back-to-back sessions. I understand that people have different heat tolerances, and I'm sure that's the reason why some people don't like how hot it can get.

:peace:

is there a serial somewhere other than the sku and barcode on the box? Im about to buy one second hand but he says there is no serial on the unit, just trying to make sure its the real deal but, being so new I doubt there would be fakes right?

Mine has what I assume is the serial number on the back of the mIQro towards the bottom. It's the number I used to register the device with Davinci.

Please be careful as you're right, there should be proof of the serial number. We just released the unit this month. I'd hold off on purchasing a second hand MIQRO.

The SKU is on the back of the box and the Serial number is on the back of the unit. Yes.

I am understanding of that. I just recall some youtube reviews stating that the glove was mentioned as included and not in what was received.

Yes, some of the reviewers were given prototypes for beta, etc. so at that time certain accessories weren't ready. Sorry for the confusion. We can't control what they reveal in the reviews, but we can say that we indeed have two editions: Normal/Unit Only and Explorers with all the accessories. Hope this helps!

Been using my MIQRO for a bit now, and I really like it. I have 2 of the bigger IQ units, so using the MIQRO is second nature for me. It works just the same way.

And the top stays closed! It has a much stronger magnet it seems.

Size-wise, this thing is tiny! I didn't realize how small it would be.

Of course that means that the chamber is smaller, and so is the battery.

So this unit isn't well suited to long drawn out sessions. But it's perfect for getting the most out of a pinch of herb, with a 5 or 6 minute session. And you can micro-dose with ease.

Like the IQ, the MIQRO can get pretty warm. I use the Glove on it, as well as on my IQs. The Glove stays on the MIQRO a bit better, just because it's smaller, but has the same design so it does tend to slip around. I think the Davinci Gloves should be tighter and less slippery.

The IQ remains my main vape, but the MIQRO has a place beside my bed now. Very nice for that CBD dose in the middle of the night.

Anyone got some tips on cleaning the Miqro? I just tried my first deep cleaning and there’s a dogleg at the bottom of the inner shaft that a qtip cannot navigate.

I've just been cleaning the oven, and the zirconium vapour path and leaving that spot under the oven and hoping it will take care of itself!
My rationale is that anything condensing there as the vape cools down, will simply be vaped the next time the oven heats, as that spot is right under it, and probably subject to the full heat of the oven.

I hope my optimism re' this approach isn't crushed by clogging.
I won't know for quite a while as I'm mostly reserving the mIQro for outdoor duties (my VCs and other vapes make my herb go a bit further while at home), so usage will be limited.

I do really enjoy using the mIQro outside and at events due to it's great stealth (better stealth in use than my Grasshopper), so I hope this doesn't prove problematic, I want to continue loving this vape!

Edit:
Does the IQ clog if the spot in question is ignored, and only the removable part and oven are kept clean?

Seems like same IQ issues here :mental:

Yes, have some cleaning tips for you :-)One thing to note is the air path is sealed so this method is safe.

We recommend removing your material and zirconia air path.
Spray ISO in the hole
Stick your index finger into the hole and your thumb in the oven then shake
This will dislodge the resin.

You don’t want to do this regularly, but more so once per month when you’re deep cleaning as too much ISO can deteriorate the oven. Hope this helps :-)

Can anyone with a Miqro tell me how well it hits? I sold my Air 2 because the hits were kind of weak and it took like 20 minutes to vape a bowl. Is this the case with the Miqro?

Well I think it hits great.
It's very different to my other vapes (my other electric vapes are convection:Millanas, Grasshopper) as it provides shorter hits with more immediate vapour which tails off within a few seconds of the start of the draw, compared to the long slow convection hits which ramp up to provide density as the herb heats up.

If I use smart path 3 I generally finish a bowl (half packed) in one 5 minute session.
If I stick to Smart Path 2 I can make a similar bowl last 2 sessions, but its pretty thin vape for the last couple of draws.

Flavour is excellent, but tails off quicker than my Millanas or GH.

I've yet to try any Ariser vapes so can't compare.

It's probably closest to my Vapcaps in some ways (nice dense vapour, cools as you hit them, short pulls), but very different when it comes to heating (obv), form factor, and the mIQro has much less draw restriction (not that this is as relevant when they are both vapes which work best with short pulls, or even mouth-pulls).

I wouldn't rate the mIQro above the VC, but it has surprised me with how close it comes.
mIQro has big advantages in term of stealth (beats the GH IMO!) especially when heating in public (haptic alert is very handy while heating in pocket, and no torch).
It also has a big advantage over the VC in windy situations.

This is no small praise coming from me, as I rate the VC as one of my top two portables along with my Millanas.

I am very happy with my purchase so far.....
BUT!:
@Davinci_vaporizer, thanks for getting 18350 batteries up on your site.
However , when I went to spend my 'Davinci dolla' on a couple it was going well (2 batteries for under 5 bucks with what I'd 'earned' by purchasing the Explorer package, not bad), until I neared the end of the process (thinking I'd just go for the free shipping this time instead of shelling out $15+ like I did with the Miqro).
But no, there was no free shipping available this time, and you want the same $15+ that I paid for shipping the whole Explorer package!
What's worse is that this doesn't become apparent until after you enter your payment details !
This feels horribly like 'bait and switch' chiselling to me.

Is this an error on your site @Davincivaporizer.com? or are you really asking that much for shipping two small batteries from Holland to the UK?!

I am completely new here and just ordered a Miqro yesterday morning directly from DaVinci's site.

just wanted to let people know that if you pick the fedex 2nd day or overnight option it does not include Saturday delivery. I did not get an expected date till after it had shipped and my discussion with customer service left a lot to be desired.

Hopefully they will include in their shipping options that the fedex options are weekday only but just wanted to put it out the information on there so noone else wastes money on faster shipping.

Welcome to FC!
Sorry you aren’t getting until next week. I have had similar thing happen to me buying other things. I think Fed Ex charges extra for Saturday delivery, but DV should do a better job of communicating it before you fork out the $$.
Anyhow, hopefully once you try it out, you will forget all about this snafu.
Is this your first vape or are you just “completely new” to FC?

This is my first vaporizer purchase. Completely new to all of this to try to deal with depression and anxiety issues. Hopefully things go smoother in the future.

Thank you for the welcome and I'm sorry if this is not fully on topic for the thread.

The miqro seems like a good product I have e been doing research for a few weeks. Hopefully it will be a good once i get it, still grumpy about the wasted money on shipping and the response from customer service but live and learn I guess.

Hi Quasi!
Don't worry , the mIQro is a solid little vape, and apart from the same shipping frustrations that you have had , DV has been pretty good with me.

The shipping thing is frustrating, but at least it doesn't diminish the device itself, which I'm willing to bet you'll enjoy.
It's a fairly versatile vape, and although I think most folk who buy one will value it as an 'out and about ' device, it actually works well as a ' sitting at home' vape as well (as long as you can be bothered to deal with frequent battery charge/replacement requirements).
Unlike some vapes there's very little technique to master (just take short pulls, and wait about 30 sec's between them for the heater to recover) so I think it's a good choice for a first electric purchase

I hope it helps banish your blues, and as Jill said, welcome to FC (embrace the VAS ).

First of all I apologize but to write (and to read your posts) I use the Google translator.
I'm Italian and I bought the Miqro directly from the DaVinci website and I did not pay the shipping with the explorer package (Only the taxes, but I already knew that). I ordered it on the 17th and 18th sent; I arrived on the 24th.
All perfect.
It is not only very beautiful aesthetically, but works well, cleans well, hides perfectly and goes straight to the point. I hope you understand what I wrote. Sorry again.
I greet everyone.

Will the mIQro work while charging?

A + indoors, and A++, if you can use
a battery bank.

While the mIQro is attractive size~wise, the battery seems to be its limiter.

So, you’re saying size matters. Right, @stark1 ?

Honestly, I keep following for ease of maintenance reports. This one looks like a beauty.

Nothing further from DaVinci customer service and there phone number goes straight to voice mail. FedEx can't help even though my order is current sitting at a location 10 miles from me.

Update: heard from DaVinci customer service and everything is good now. Problems resolved.
