Yeah, @asdf420, CBD is hardly "inactive". But not in a cannabis sort of way. Almost like a benzo. And it sure reverses a lot of THC effects in seconds, wow.

It's probably thanks to the many constituents pulling in different directions that vaping cannabis flowers causes no rebound when not doin' it. But I suspect we're in for some rougher water when people are selectively taking huge doses of isolated substances, like THC -- maybe even CBD. The tree-huggers may be right after all, stick to the God-given flowers?

I notice when I have a high tolerance the sativa high is basically not even noticeable. I think I could microdose better if I just switch back to a pen, I think the desktop vape station is getting me in trouble again since it creates this habitual environment...

What do you call a pen?
What kind of hardware/atomizer/cartridge?

I just found an old long eGo battery with
adjustable voltage that still works!
Good for a "pen", a little long, cigar-like.

"Habitual environment". Ain't that the truth.
Gestures and positions playing back, automatic,
I can vape 0 nicotine juice, but it's hard not to.
I can't leave this desk because my nic vape is here.

Maybe you should get some fake Midwest weed,
Oh! No! K-2 or whatever them crazies call it, no,
you're batter off sticking to the local product. But
you'd need to find some ritual to replace it. You
into music? Time to get a Kalimba. Very tactile.
Good way to work off a little I miss my "habitual
environment" excess Kuda-fuckin-lini ;-)

I went into a "smoke shop" today, where they sell e-cigs and a lot, a LOT of bongs and bangers and various glassware, and the guy behind the counter explained, as I puffed on my 5mg/ml nic juice. He had one of these tiny salt-nic all-in-ones and was hitting it. He said Brother, you're enjoying that juice and walking around. It's not like that with salt-nic. It's strong. You pull out the little vaporizer when you NEED A HIT. And you inhale and it hits hard and you put it away. More like that. Different thing.

Now I can think of analogies with various other substances, and not as a put down, but is anybody down to business like that with cannabis extracts?

I have recently been on a break for 16 days during the holidays, as I was travelling to a very non-friendly country... The hardest part by far was the previous months, trying to make my mind up about how I would do without.
In the end, the disappointing part was not to be without it, it was how easy I got by without it!

There were other factors: I was always with people, exercising, had strong alcohol to somewhat replace Cannabis in the evenings, satellite TV, a couple books, and even the jet lag helped too.

When I travel I really do not need anything else but company and fun stuff to see and do!

This break did bring an overall improvement tbh, other times I was still thinking regularly about Cannabis, moslty thinking how cool/relaxing it'd be to have one here or there or doing this or that activity.
But I focused on the activity itself instead, which was what I used to do in the past, and was pretty refreshing. Sometimes Cannabis "holds" you back, this time was able to do things differently and let go.
Since I made my mind up from the start only REALLY, really missed it 2-3 times.
It was great to enjoy the trip without worrying about anything and doing different things than usual.

Nice! Yes, it is much harder to be on break when in your old routines at home. I think it comes down to dopamine - when we medicate, our brains are getting a dopamine PUNCH, and sober life seems so boring in comparison. But when we travel, every day is dopamine filled as we move from new place to new place, meeting new people, trying new things. Novelty is nature's way of delivering a dopamine dose!

I feel proud of myself, I've finally gotten my habits under control. Had a little cannabis this past Sunday when we were just lounging and relaxing at home, one bowl vaped, had no desire to have more. Each day I look forward to getting up and out the door whereas before I felt so lazy and lacking in motivation. Perhaps it's also the fact that I'm 35 now, maybe brain's not quite what it was like in my 20's, but that could just be a cop out. Regardless, really enjoying life right now!

Been on a break since August 14.

I did try some cbd oil in a pen the other night when I was really hammered. Was pretty good. Huge clouds. But not sure if I felt much. But was also very drunk haha.

Try it again when you're sober, it just has a slight relaxing effect for those of us who don't need it for medicinal purposes. A friend of mine has some very concentrated oral drops and he says he can DEFINITELY feel it, so to each their own!

IMO this is a real issue with plugin desktop vaporizers... The desktop "vape station" creates a highly habitual environment. I've had feelings in the past where I felt like I could hardly leave the room cause I didn't wanna go somewhere without my vape. For those without the best self control it might not be ideal.

I’ve been wanting to take a tolerance break for some time now. I can’t go a morning without it and my symptoms start destroying me. I often wonder if it’s my mind playing tricks. Making me sick until I take that hit. I have crohns and only medicate with herb. Any ideas out there from people with similar situations?

Same here brother, diagnosed with crohns 30 years ago and the only thing that helps with my symptoms is cannabis. If I don't consume for a couple of days nausea and lack of appetite kick in to the point where I feel absolutely horrible.

That's an interesting point. I can see how being stuck to a certain spot whenever you vaporize can be problematic in certain ways. I can also imagine that having access to a nice hit whenever you want, with a portable vaporizer, might lead to heavier usage since it will mean you have access to Cannabis regardless of where you are.

curious if a CBD with beta-caryllophene would help (earlier studies indicated so)

I have gone about a week without. Have vaped every day for the past year. I quit for a year before that and the year before that I vaped every day. I notice I get more irritable sometimes and can find that I do not have as positive of an outlook on life. Cannabis gives me a good outlook on the future. I can live without it but I ask myself why if I enjoy it? the year I went without it I did not do anything to change my life. I ended up getting kind of sad again. I think the biggest thing for me is moderation. If I use only when the grunt work is done then I find it not to disrupt much.

Ended my break of almost 3 months last night. Did a nice dab of some Cherry Pie rosin. Such a sweet & tasty exhale. SOOOOO STOOOOOOOONED! The high kept creeping until it peaked a few hours later. Had the shaky legs & everything. Pretty psychadelic. Been awhile since I woke up w/ a weed hangover! :ko: 1 dab & I was bloody eyed stoned for 7-8 hours.

Been thinking about how I want to consume going forward & last night sealed it. I decided I'd rather be the type of person who vapes a few times a week, but gets faded af when they do it versus someone who uses everyday but microdoses. I enjoy my concentrate sandwiches & getting lit too much I think to go straight microdosing at this point in time.

(rewarding myself from this T break by ordering a mighty from SB) :D:D:D

I took a break for 4 weeks when I was travelling as I knew whatever weed I would get there would not be worth the risk. I use small amounts of valium to help with sleep in these situations but I knpw I am not going to get addicted to it - I don't advise this unless you are desperate for some sleep.

Didn't really notice enough difference to merit removing this pleasure from my life.. but I wish the short term memory drop-outs and reduced dreams wouldn't be the price to pay.

I might do a sober october. I've moved recently, and gone back to school after a nice 5 year stint of the 9to5. I had a pretty regimented life, went to work, did BJJ 4-5 time a week, strength and conditioning once or twice a week on top,ate clean-ish etc...and getting high 2-4 times a day, every day. Where I am now,the nearest gym is an hour and change away,I don't have a car= I'm not nearly training as much. Now running and yoga and weightlifting are nice, but nothing like getting stoned and doing jiu-jitsu. For those who've never done BJJ,imagine playing three-dimensional chess with human bodies, where the end-game is getting your partner/opponent to submit to a choke or lock. It's insanely fun once you've got some technique down. Addictive!! Sometimes, with the right group on the mat,the right tunes and the right stuff vaped beforehand...magic,flowstate,total presence in the moment. This sounds corny, but I'm having trouble filling the void in my life. So,I've started relying on just getting stoned.
I've always thought of myself as an enhancement-stoner. I get high to deepen my enjoyment doing other stuff. But there is always the struggle of:
a) Not getting too high to stay on task in a productive way.
b) Not being reliant on getting high to enjoy the thing itself.

I've found myself toe-ing the line on both of those many a time.Shit,ramble,ramble.

TLDR: Despite my stoned, melancholy musing and pining after a hobby that has had to take a backseat, things are pretty great,so it might be a good time for a break to reset tolerance and build some new habits, without my "habit".

Hello fello FC compadres. I was wondering for any daily-near daily users, how long after stopping did your insomnia (if applicable) last?

I had been hitting the herb near daily after work, with gaps here and there, for about 3-4 years, the past half a year, mostly vaping. Strictly flower, good stuff, .2-.4 a day on average. Weekends who knows....

For the past ~6 weeks ive been herb free cold turkey. Maybe a week after stopping, I’ve been afflicted with pretty severe insomnia. 6 weeks later I still cannot sleep through the night. I wake up in the middle of the night for 3-5 hours before I can get back to sleep for an hour or two before work. It’s a bit of a stressful time in the work life so that might be a factor...

Anyway could i still be suffering from withdrawals at this point? Or is it more likely stress// not having herb to combat it?

At some point id very much like to take up herb casually//recreationally but if my sleep (and life) is going to be adversely affected by stopping again or if im going to come to depend on it to alleviate stress so i can sleep, its not worth it.

Any thoughts or advice??

Much appreciated

It took me over 90 days clean before the crazy dreaming/ insomnia loosened up a bit. It was the first t-break of any length taken due to employment search. Been a steady consumer for the better part of 30+ years. Don't be so hard on yourself, using a plant to help combat the effects of stress is far better than self medicating with alcohol. Look at it this way, when you decide to partake again you have already reset your tolerance. You can start with the smallest effective dose for your needs and adjust accordingly.

ok, here's an interesting spin on a CannaBreak...

the last 10-12 weeks, I've been undergoing chemo & radiation for Multiple Myeloma.

while the cancer was chewing away at me, I lost around 35lbs, and noticed that I wasn't using anywhere
near as much cannabis as is normal for me... then it dawned on me that there was undoubtedly a large amount of cannabinoids in that 35lbs! So even in the midst of the dark crazies of cancer, there are bright spots where you just get to laugh :)
Best reason I've ever heard to diet. ;):leaf:

without knowing any of the situational context for anxiety, etc., I'd recommend trying some full spectrum CBD to help relax you (it will NOT put you to sleep), which hopefully will lead to sleep.

I have yet to have any significant withdrawals on my t-breaks, and I'm doing prodigious amounts for pain relief and to fight cancer.

It's more likely you're unimpaired and focusing on aspects of your anxiety. Not really causal, but possibly correlatable.
