I am going to hold off on a full review until I get a few oz through it but one thing that I really like is how clean the vape is. I guess it's the higher heat but I don't have to swap out screens as often as I do with my splinter. I use basket screens with a pretty small mesh that clog up pretty fast.

The taste and clouds are amazing. I can suck down a lose packed bowl with one hit. Also really loving the leopard wood. I got a standard flow.

UPDATE

RBT reports on 420vapezone that "More Zion heaters should be arriving early next week so more should be available in 2-3 weeks."

I read somewhere in the last day or 2 that he's gonna be supplying VF with more Splinters & Zs & that VF is gonna to be a distributor in addition to an authorized retailer. It's just a matter of hanging tight until he builds up enough inventory here, abroad & Canada.

They sold out fast

analytika said that 20 were mailed out on launch day & there are few of us are still waiting. That's like nothing considering what the demand will be.

@Lazy Lighting, looking forward to your review. (Try the different BCG grinds out while testing. :)) You said you have the standard flow, but no, you actually have the 2 hole, low flow. I have a gut feeling that the 4 hole, high flow may very well turn out to be the standard flow. Anyone want to wager before the reviews start coming in? I, too, will hopefully have a low flow by the end of next week.

@VAPEHUNTER, when you contact RBT, be sure to include the link to your video cause that says it all. May be a detached screw that secures the ss mesh.

@VAPEHUNTER email Ryan..... something is not right. Or, take it apart and find out.

It's was just the screen rattling in mine it did the same thing. If you can slide a finger in and touch the screen just push it down real lightly it should no longer rattles.

High resistance on this .408 higher wattage is needed with the splinter_Z at 400 degrees it can take up to 65 watts to maintain that temperature when I take a hard draw. Upped my preheat to 75 watts and 65 for wattage in TC mode.

Really happy with the 4 hole version. Will revisit using 2 plugged in the future really wasn't a contest for me. Just enjoy the more free flow of the 4 holes.

Not normally big on using glass but been enjoying the stem that shipped with the Z. First time used one of the XL8R type stems.

Going hold off till I return from trip to give my full thoughts. I will say i'm impressed by it. Really allows the taste to shine thru. Dare I say I found my new DD for home? I think thats going be a big hell yes.

I did a burn off and would suggest the same before using.

Using a 316 SS material file with this seems be fairly stable. I email Ryan asked what type stainless steel is used in heater. Hopefully get a response.

Sounds like least 4 of use have or had a rattle. Honestly I don't think there broke just screen not pressed in tight. Once there some use I have feeling it become a non issue. Sure isn't effecting the performance.

With at least 4 out of only 20 sent out are rattling it is either normal or major QC I lean towards normal.

Pretty, got it today, will try tonight
Two hole lacewood and yes, rattle in mine too
The mouthpiece is from 420EDC, fits great
You are gonna test it even with the rattle?

I don’t know about other people’s but mine rattling is most definitely not caused by the screen. The screen is in there super tight, I couldn’t move it even if I wanted to. There’s something under there inside the unit that’s rattling. It’s a much heavier/louder rattle than a loose screen would cause too.

Yeah, the screen is solid the Mica plate sounds more like it. I know I have an old Yocan Punk60 mod box in storage somewhere. If I get home early enough tonight I’ll try to find it to test it.

Bah it's probably just the mica plate. The heater is wrapped around it but it's not firmly tied to it.

If your resistance is stable on the mod when you shake it and you get vapor in power mode, I wouldn't worry too much.

That make sense mine has stopped rattling so not going over worry about it. Really don't think it anything to worry about.

Dang....love these things. It's def Z beast:freak:, love it so far. Although don't think I'll necessarily stop using the og splinter as it still wallops but geez.... yea....def the hardest, smoothest, easiest hitting dry herb vape I've had so far....it's a shame the cannabis world in general typically knows not of this genius...not to mention FC....Well I'll indulge nonetheless..I wanted a good night vape....I think I found it.

Yay! It works!

I'm mod-challenged. Clueless. Got a DNA250C mod, read @HerbieVonVapster settings

Figured out button navigation, set to 316SS, ran resistance check, got .40, tried temp 400F and 65w, just flavor, bumped until 420F and 75w

Nice clouds, good taste. No charring yet, and I'm shocked, because I usually farq up with these convection vapes.

Had to look in mirror to see screen, felt ridiculous. Got some overheat errors. So, guess I need to hook it up to laptop, escribe, bla bla

@Hackerman - the glass I got from 420EDC is 19/22 and it fits the Z perfectly. It is listed as a Milaana cooling mouthpiece, but also fits Zion, early splinters, Tubo-Evic

Since you have the C chip ... Just set it to between 28 to 35 watts (that's for the splinter standard, more for the Z) in replay mode. Depending on how much you're vaporizing. Go until you get the perfect puff. Save. Rinse. Repeat. It's the best most sophisticated algorithm for the splinters.

After delaying my order and making me change my original wood choice because I wanted 4 hole RBT sent me a 2 hole

Couldn't be more disappointed.

Edit: it even says 4 hole on the paper it was wrapped in AND on the box it was in....wtf. Going on a trip on the 27th and I imagine this won't get sorted by then so I'm stuck z-less for vacation now.
