Shout out to Rox Anne at DrDabber support!

When swabbing unit's well, noticed a small scratch that almost seemed like a crack. Probably a cosmetic thing, but I'm OCD.

Even though I purchased it from an online retailer, I opened a ticket with DrDabber support. Didn't mention FC, didn't want favoritism. Also didn't want to pester their FC presence here with PMs about a scratch; that's not why they're here.

They offered a replacement after sending mine back.

I did last week, and today got email with tracking. Pretty impressive customer service!!

Side note: received email with tracking today from Eternal Quartz, my quartz inserts are on the way. Read some disparaging remarks about Eternal, and wanted to share a positive tale.

DrDabber quartz on left, Eternal Quartz on right.

Like the Eternal's beveled inside bottom edge. Was a lot easier to q-tip out cleanly. Looks like a tumbler glass for teeny tiny tipplers.

Strong, they bounce quite well on granite counters with clumsy handling. Since I can't master the tweezers with my tremors, have decided to relax and drop my load with a dump instead. I hold the freebie hexagonal silicone lid over the glass well with one hand, then invert Switch with other. Silicone catcher's glove.

I do the same dump technique! Fits like a glove! Is the eternal thicker? I just realized the smooth ceramic is a coating too so I went back to the quartz.

I ordered the switch a couple days ago and can't wait to use it for flower and wax but was wondering if it will also work for Hash?? As in old school low heat rolled brown hash.
Thanks

This thing will vape fucking anything!! U can vape your flower low into nice light abv.. or crank it up on high bong rip style, where it vaporizes your flower into black dust... this thing is a seriously advanced vaping unit.

Side note: thought of a little hack today, which has made my bubble cap create thick monster clouds instead of the semi lighter whispier clouds.. the top hole on my new black bubbler is way off, in terms of being a round hole for the bubble csp to sit, due to the irregularity a lot of air passes thru if i use the bubble cap with it, so i wasnt getting the best hits with it n had to use the standard cap
exclusively with the black bubbler... Until the little trick i started doing today. I took the rubber ring off my extra broken cap.. n place the ring on top as usual. So instead of the bubble cap sitting on the glass where air really passes thru the sides.. its on the air tight rubber o-ring, n u jus kinda push it down n the rubber ring gives it plenty of wiggle to move around ur bubble cap to splash around that puddle of goodness..this was all done with the smooth ceremic dish, n were some of the best over all hits ive ever gottn outta my switch.

The Eternal glass does appear thicker, I'm guessing 50% thicker. Most apparent at bottom rim, with that smooth q-tip friendly bevel. Also is a bit taller. Interesting design choice, eliminating the brim.

I finally got around to posting my full in-depth Switch Review!

huge thanks again to the FC community for voting me in to the beta/early review with Dr Dabber!

I'm still working on the Puffco Peak comparison, but I did write up a summary in the editorial version of the review on my site.

Over the last few months I shared the Dr Dabber Switch dry herb experience with as many people as I could to better understand the response.

More people liked it than disliked it; however, most of the vape-purists testers didn't like dry herb mode.

Most of the smokers I tested enjoyed dry herb mode, but weren't really blown away or anything. They loved the device as a dab rig.

Nice video, very informative and funny to watch you taking on that 421 feeling.
Couple of questions: I noticed that black percolator has a gasket at the connection and seems to fit a lot tighter, does that effect the draw over the clear glass?? And will that same gasket slip on the clear glass??
I totally like your idea of using two separate percolators for dab and herb.!!
Definitely thinking about ordering one while there's a 30% sale for the weekend

Thanks!
The clear glass also comes with that gasket, but I don't use it.
They added the gasket after I already had my unit and the clear glass on mine fits nice and tight without the need for the gasket.

The black glass doesn't form an airtight seal without the gasket :(
I actually dislike the gasket and probably would have talked some shit about it had I remembered.

Troy, in your vid, you tried stepping up temp during a go session. Not like a Mighty, is it. But, you can tap out of the session, change temp, then press go again. Annoying, but quick to reheat.

I like the silicone bumper gasket. Don't need to seat big joint fully down for a good seal, and this will prevent joint locking over time I imagine. Reduces that glass on glass scaping sound too.

Ordered a second stock cap after reading here and watching vids. Yup, the new one is better, but need to press on it to make a proper seal. Have three bubblers to test on, and the difference is consistent. Hits seem more dense when I press down. While pressing down on cap, finger over hole stops flow, so no leaks.

During testing, unexpected surprise using Eternal Quartz insert. Finger over hole during steady draw, then released finger. WTF, no vapor. Looked down and saw the quartz had jumped out of the titanium cup and was stuck crooked. Instinctively I thought of vacuum action sucking it up, but quickly realized it was the sudden turbulence after finger release. Eternal does not have the brim, so air can race down gap. The DrDabber quartz inserts do not behave like this. So, Eternal, please add the brim. And to be fair to DrDabber quartz, they are very easy to q-tip clean too. Learning about this turbulence allows me to stop worrying that I'm not spinning the cap like everyone else.

One thing I would like to address on your review. It appears that you are running on an older version of the firmware, most likely the BETA version. This firmware will go in to cooling cycle after almost every heating cycle. The actual retail firmware has resolved this. Cooling cycle will only fire after multiple heating cycles or after a cleaning cycle, sometimes not even then.

I ordered the switch a couple days ago and can't wait to use it for flower and wax but was wondering if it will also work for Hash?? As in old school low heat rolled brown hash.

Yes, Hash will work just fine with our Switch unit. This may dirty up your induction cups pretty quickly, so make sure to clean them out after a few uses. We have also heard that moon rocks work great with the Switch.

Got my EQ Switch insert yesterday.. size wise its a little more narrow then the stock quartz dish, so it has a little wiggle room. Its nearly double the thickness tho, so u can definitely use it on higher settings without burning your dab. With the regular quartz dish, i never really brought it passed the 5th purple or first blue in advanced cus it would over vape my dab to 1 small hit with no puddle.. With the EQ insert i was able to fire it up on the first cyan setting for 2 rounds and still managed to have a nice puddle to soak up afterwards.. its amazing how maybe another .5mm of quartz thickness can add so much to the performance.. man i jus love taking a pile of flower, and a few different jars of trates, n jus go to town on my switch n play around with all of its cups n settings.. it really is an advanced user type rig, that takes some serious tinkering to dial it to ur specific needs. I feel like the possibilities are endless on the Switch. If using it for both flower snd oil, having a 2nd bubbler attachment is crucial!! My stock clear bubbler, was definitely blown with more precision then the black one. But the black is far more pleasing, aesthetically speaking.

Side note: how does one edit a photo for it to fit the size required for your avatar? I deleted mine trying to add a different one. N no matter how much i edit, i smaller i make them, none of the photos from my iphone Xs camera will work for an avatar due to size.

Why hasn’t the bunk photo posting to this site been long-since remedied? Thoroughly puzzled by this really. What year is this?

If you're referring to the problem we are experiencing with imgur, you can find out about it here and here.

This issue has absolutely nothing to do with uploading avatars however, which is the problem that @Niiizy_503 is experiencing.

If you want to, you can email me the image at stu@vaporist.com and I'll fix it for you so that it's suitable for avatar use.

I just mean that this is 2018, and this website does not allow us to post photos directly to it, which is rather unusual. Not to mention having to format photos correctly for avatars. Both those things are pretty damn ridiculous.

I talked about pressing down on carb cap and "feathering" the carb hole with finger.

Bad idea

Already said this caused turbulence. Enough turbulence to dislodge the Eternal Quartz insert. Well, it got worse. Glob of melted shatter flew up to top of joint.

Very bad idea
