Temp controlled battery for CCell carts

@biohacker Think this will be of any interest to you?

If this works well it would be a must have I think. Been using some awesome carts lately on my Joyetech Evic Basic but this form factor is awesome. I tested a bunch of carts on my mod versus pen batteries and the flavor was much better running at lower voltage than a lot of stick batteries fire at.

Price seems a bit high but I see myself eventually going all the way in this portable cartridge direction, especially if I can get my fresh rosin to start wicking into Ccells! It's pretty crazy that you can get enail quality hits these days with a cartridge now.

I ordered that overpriced variable thing on ebay today. Along with a car key fob battery for pocket/cartridge protection. Have developed a strain of VAS with these gizmos.

PCKT was my first, but had cartridge fit issues. Then CCell Palm, my fav, and then the tiny little guy rebranded by Elm&Owl for $20 from vapepartsmart. It has three voltage settings, and wide opening, and direct screw in, no magnetic adapter to lose. (threw a PCKT magnet in trash with a spent cart) Don't like the ergonomics of the Elm&Owl though, especially the finger yoga to press button. CCell Palm sits by my side, obediently ready for an inhale, no buttons. Era was king, but pod availability has been an issue here. Showed TightPac in pic because it's a great pocket travel case for Era with pod. Can remove lid, hit Era. Been enjoying Select brand carts, Palm temp seems fine.

@invertedisdead - I like the Era system, great "session" control via app, but I agree the pods are pricey.

@scalescliffs - um, uh, different opinion. Of course, I'm very new to this scene.

Back on thread track, I'm curious whether the adjustable temps will be needed ... isn't the Palm dialed in, for Ccell carts at least? Apologies if this sounds ignorant, as I feel like a drunk who stumbled into a wine tasting. Deja vu

I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Palm, but I'm not sure if I'd like the single power setting as I tend to like a bit more control.

I really like the idea of wattage control on this other slim battery as I noticed the flavor improved dramatically when I put a CCELL on my box mod.

Charlie.....let us know what you experience with the GT800 adjustable battery. I am just getting into these oil cart deals and have not decided on what batt to use. I have a joytech primo mini now, but would like to have something more stealth in hand.

Very interesting what Inverted said about dialing in the mod to get better taste profile at a lower power setting. I have been wondering about that as well.

I need to stop vaping my normal flower vapes for awhile now as my throat and lungs are taking a pounding on me as I need to use for med reasons daily. So going to oil carts is my only hope as edibles do nothing for me.

I too like being in control but have found the Palm to be excellent and I have not found myself wanting for lack of variable W/V control.

@biohacker - here's link: https://ebay.us/KWP2MN

Don't like cart tip sticking out of my other gizmos. Of course, my carts probably won't fit, or explode being so cheap. Plenty of these on Ebay.

Like the 10 second fire on the Elm&Owl rebranded imini. Double press to start it. Don't have to contort hand holding button during draw.

Palm is so easy with no buttons, though.

Like these carts in a hurry, but also as a boost after an herb session. Like an espresso shot. Only problem is cart clogs frequently, and need to suck hard to clear clog.

Yes, @biohacker , that button placement on side looks better. Wonder if this rebrand has the 10 second fire. With units this small, it's a pain holding button. Listen to me whine.

Just like @Baron23 , have had good results with Palm as is. Interesting to see if the variable one that started this thread will be worth it. I'll report back.

Got the GT800
Tried wattage mode, started at 5w with nice clouds, kept bumping down. Good screen, adjustable to tenth of watt. Still good results at 1w, not sure if this makes sense. Read that advantage is lower oil consumption, so maybe this will pay for itself. Suppose I should keep a record of use to test this economizing idea, see how a cart lasts in Palm vs GT800. I got slammed a bit too hard by testing. Potent.

I looked at the GT800 on ebay, I really like the fact that the atomizer is hidden, but I have never broken a cart using my joytech. Just curious, you can get a really nice Joytech 80w TC mod with a built in 18650 battery that runs CCELLs and every other cart and atomizer perfectly for under $15...Why would something like the GT800 cost more than $15 other than a huge markup? I use my Joytech mods at around 7.7w on my CCELLS.

Idk but adjustment of .1 watts is tons of control, I use carts on my Joyetech Evic Basic and it has as much control as an enail. Although that's kinda weird you were getting good results at 1w.... hmm, makes me a little suspicious, did it seem like the power ramping throughout the wattage range was working?

IMO the battery meter and .1 watt control is a GAME CHANGER for carts, but my mod is just a little bulky compared to this, it seems super appealing, probably have to grab one. Wish the cart sat a little lower in the battery compared to the others, I guess that's typical to trade form for function. Love to see one the size of the first one with .1 wattage control and a real battery meter!

GT800 and Palm are racing. Tally so far is 21 five second hits on each. Set GT800 to 2.0w

Expected result is that Palm will finish oil first, but oil levels seem even now. Odd that they're even. Even odds they will oddly even out at the finished line?

@invertedisdead - yes, confirmed just now. Replaced cart so I wouldn't affect race outcome. Set to 6w, and it delivered quite a vapor punch, after two days using at 2w. Seems to work.

Grrr, should probably be using identical carts in race. Both are Select brand carts, though. Cart racing is fun.

Cart racing update: about halfway, 51 laps. Looks like Palm is getting a slight bit closer to the finished line.

Unbearable frustration with this mod mess. Wish I could just turn it on and inhale like the mini me's. Put FJ on it and my silly logo, but that's it. Fried StemPod. Hell, I just pressed the button for five seconds to see if it worked. Now just get errors. Stupidly have a DNA mod on the way along with SplinterZ and TuboX, glass stems, adapters, and I can't even figure out how to use a mod. I feel really dumb now. Maybe Vito has some patients under 30 who can operate these damn mods, patients in need of on-demand relief. I need a drink. That's my relief.

:rofl:That's why I stick with the CCELL's and a couple of simple adjustable voltage batteries and THAT'S IT!

I actually really like the cheap dhgate pen with the adjustable voltage rotary bottom... works bomb with all my carts! Although I do confess I experience anxiety from time to time thinking it's going to explode in my face! :o:lol:

Just put any mod to wattage mode, start at 7.5W and adjust from there. I use anywhere from 7w-8w on my joytech mods for CCELLS. It looks like you have yours set to 300w, that battery will work fine at 7.5 watts or so and would last all week or more. Give it a shot, but be sure you turn it way down first.
IF you already tried it at 300w, you fried the coil but all is not lost. you can simply get a fresh or a still working used CCELL cart that (verify your used one still works) and transfer your distillate to the other cart by slightly warming the oil and use a cheap blunt tip syringe, like these to draw it up and tranfer it.

Have a problem with the GT800. They chose a magnet connection like Palm. But unlike Palm, the GT800 magnet is weak, or connection fails momentarily with the side to side cartridge wiggle room. Errors happen. Cartridge malfunction errors pop up, and worse, press button and draw with no vapor. It's waiting for you to choose plus or minus button option "New Coil/Old Coil?" Damnit. Happened 4-5 times. Too many. Another one bites the dust. They should have used a screw on design like the imini Elm&Owl.

Thanks, @mrbonsai420 , I fried coils in StemPod, not a cartridge. Because I'm clueless. And one of 4 batteries mysteriously discharged. Adhering to that definition of insanity, expecting a different result, I'm doubling down on my incompetence by ordering more batteries.
