Sometimes to stupid to become a fool
Hm, i guess the digit pump also runs without the heater on? - fun experiment would be to heat it up to max, turn off the heater, fill a bag and turn the heater back on to see the temp drop...i'd guess the bag won't be much different...

I have the flowerpot now and it really does kick ass. Still love the volcano though. The temp fluctuation isn't a big deal to me. The flowerpot is a huge hitter though.

Okay so the Chinese glass came in...I call it, the VolcanoXhale
FqewWu5.jpg

Honestly, not that great because between hits it just continues blowing vapor out, but it does work well which leads me to a 35-40$ obsidian! 65 if you really want to make it legit. I used an O ring from a smok tfv8 O ring kit I had from when I used to vape nicotine to get off cigs, and an 18mm female joint fits perfectly over it. theres even an indent on the easy valve nozzle for the o ring that works perfectly

Here is the plan for the chinese obsidian. 14mm male joint fits great into the easy valve bags. Chinese glass makers make a version of the vapexhale tube that has an 18mm male joint on top supposedly for whips. They even make them in multiple perc types, matrix, showerhead, circle, tree. then a 18mm female to 14mm male joint on top of that, which the bag goes on.

Example of the glass - note it even has a catch to prevent water from going into the herb/volcano. Can be had for 25-35$

If you really want to make it more legit you can buy the Planet Vape GonG easy valve bag connector for 30$ and use a female to female adapter on top of the piece, with the GonG easy valve connector going into that (your choice of size)

Just a note regarding the magma attachment for cooling and moistureizing vapor.

In my opinion it’s not there yet.

The volcano is a precision device especially the valve (easy) those internal dimensions will not change. Yet. There are several o rings included that come with a poorly written how to.
There should be a diagram on the magma. Which o ring goes where? Why is the water chamber so damn small? It holds like 10ml maybe less!! That really not do shit except get warm quick it may add some humidity... I’d like to see some science on that. It’s a cluge job. I’d in retrospect buy a 2nd gen unit ( if the company makes it that long. Not this beta unit they are trying to cash in on.

Seriously the magma ized was no different.

But this little accessory really disappointed.

Sup baloon heads,

I just broke out my Volcano after strictly dabbing for 6-7 month time.

Not updated on the current desktop-vape situation,

Is the FlowerPot really the end of the Volcano "Reign?" ? :D
Not in my opinion. While the FP is a GREAT extractor, its also an exposed 600-700F coil driven heater that many folks, particularly med patients, will find too dangerous and crack pipe looking. I love mine but also love my Volcano.

The Volcano is very easy, VERY safe, VERY CONSISTENT, and I think all of that makes it very suitable for MJ patients. Particularly any without a prior rec background or any with any movement disorders or dexterity issues. The fan and digital temp control on the Digit means that a patient can accurately titrate their dose (or at least titrate their dose as well as can be done with our current wild west of "strains").

As more legalization comes down the road, I believe you will see more and more vapes that are highly integrated and appliance looking (vice dope smoking looking). I believe that the Puffco Peak and the DD Switch are reflections of that growing market trend.

Tour of the Factory:
Hi Vitolo - wow, I had seen the interview vid but not the factory floor. Who else in the vape world has such a modern factory and processes. Too often vapes made more as a craft industry than a modern appliance type production facility. I really, really enjoyed this vid and was quite surprised as the high volume of their production that you saw in the vid.

Cheers

Hi Vapinmofo,
Judging from your post, magma doesn’t seem to do the job at moisturizing vapor, but imho even if it did, it could be dangerous for health reasons or just for the shelf life of the Volcano bag.
Stale water particles attached to an emptied bag could lead to mold formation.
If magma would become popular it wouldn’t surprise me S&B warning about it officially.

I appreciate your insight m8 :-)

I definitely feel there is something to be said for the "ease-of-use" with the volcano.
So all in all i think i will manage just fine without a fp just yet at least.

elmomuzz

That just happened...
I am out of easy valve bags so I busted out my solid valve. It’s hard to choose a favorite really. They both have their pros and cons. The easy is obviously more convenient. And there is the reducer. But I like how the solid valve allows you to use small amounts of herb efficiently. It has a top screen that lays on the herb regardless of the amount used.

Honestly i haven't used the new one  - i'll try it when i wreck the normal bags/connectors i have in use (and stock), so far i haven't destroyed one ;)
But the changing procedure looks much easier to do in the vid...

Hey Guys!

Ryan from Magma Industries here. Just wanted to stop by, introduce myself, and say hello! Going forward I'll try and keep an eye on this thread and answer any questions/comments/concerns that you may have regarding Magma/Obsidian.

Cheers!

EDIT: The mods have suggested I make a separate thread just for accessory questions, so I’ll try and gather all that’s been asked recently, and if you have any further questions I’ll add them as a constantly updating Q/A format!

This evening I watched the movie Blindspotting.

I’m about 99% sure I saw a Volcano with an inflated bag on top of it. The bag almost looked like hard plastic. The base of the volcano was recognizable. However, the placement of the vape made no sense. It was just kind of sitting there going unnoticed and unattended on a console table during a party scene. it was almost like a lamp.

Just wanted to share.

I have opened my old Classic to check if there were some kinked hoses, as it is quite slow to fill the bags (3 minutes). But the hoses were perfectly located. Do you think it is just the pump being too old?

Sounds like it. You can contact S&B for repairs, they seem to run 80-120$. Or you can do some digging and find the part yourself and do the switch yourself. Not sure how difficult/easy it is though, never opened mine up personally.

Do the buttons on the digital make any kind of distinct clicking sound or do they just kinda slide in and out?
