***Gamers*** What are you playing?

Few months back I picked up a cheap Xbox One from a neighbor. I haven't owned a console since the Sega Megadrive (aka Genesis) days  So I'm very much out of the loop. This is cool because theres a whole world of AAA games I've never played, or even heard of for that matter. Games that are a few years old are going SUPER cheap too. I bought Doom, Witcher III, and Shadow of Mordor GOTY edition, average price $15 each.

I played Shadow of Mordor first, and haven't even tried the other games yet, so thats a good sign.

No wonder this game won so many awards, its just ridiculously fun and satisfying. They did an incredible job capturing the look, feel and sound of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies. I like how the fighting is so strategic, its difficult but rewarding. At first I was getting killed every time I was surrounded. After I stopped button-mashing and slowed down, started paying attention to the details, the fighting becomes like a beautiful dance that almost feels real (like I would know:rofl:). It just feels tactile, like the weapons have weight to them.

My only critique is the world seems small, the edges of the map are too obvious and break the immersion. Guess its an old-ish game though.

@Gottawin Because Cuphead is fantastic, or at least I think so. How far along are you? I still have to finish King Dice and the Devil.

@bleak Your last system was fantastic and your new one is too. Depending on what your allowed data cap is and download speeds, you should take a peek at gamepass. There is a free trial and its pretty much just Microsofts take on "Netflix" streaming but with video games.

I don’t get to mess with games much these days due to grad school stuff but the ones that I have gotten to play a bit at a time include Stardew Valley (never thought I’d love such a simple seeming farming game), faster than light, and Skyrim, which I’ve never been able to fully sink myself into

I've got ~20 hours into Islands of Nyne already and I can't stop paying
It's the most fun I've had since PUBG was in early access by far.

Here's a full round for anyone interested in seeing what it's like:

The majority of D2 is on softcore East Ladder these days. Hardcore doesn't have quite as many players but if you're looking for more people, USEast is where you're gona wanna be.

I've been having decent fun playing paladins on switch. Now that it went free, there are more Nintendo players. I can play with people from other systems, but the social system in game uses the switch social system. So we have to become Nintendo buddies in order to be connected in game.

Haven't played anything recently but was lucky enough to log some hours on the BFV Closed Alpha a little while ago. It was pretty sick.

Looking forward to playing the 2-player / co-op of Unravel.

Still playing L.A. Noir and I’m sucking at it too, although my last case was a decent success.
