Just went from PAX 2 to PAX 3. Loved the PAX 2, really love the 3. IMHO, the 3 produces more vapor per session than the 2.
I kind of microdose using the PAX. For 2 of us, 120 mg provides a great buzz. For a single - 60 mg or so.
I find that a wooden toothpick is indispensable for getting junk out of the oven. No risk of scratching up the oven.
Finally - save your ABV!. I bought a $12 stovetop espresso maker, and as soon as I have 8 grams or so of ABV -- I make oil. Get about 32 brownies out of an 8 gram batch.

Same situation , went from the 2 to 3 and I am really enjoying it. They seem the same session wise but the vibration function has been nice along with that really quick heat up time. I also like the Flavor mode the app provides and how it only ramps temp up when it senses your lips. Small and pocket-able and great for sessions.

It is certainly a true unit, it works with bluetooth applications. I bought it in a store kvalitnivaporizer.cz. I have a third unit from them. I sent it to my dealer and I'm waiting for expression. Meanwhile, I bought the Mighty as a backup! Guys, thanks for your response.

Hello everyone!
Im calling all PAX 3 users
Ive just got a PAX 3 to use with both tobacco and dry flowers and I seem to be underwhelmed so far.

THE VAPOUR
very little with flowers, a little better woth tobacco, it only lasts a few hits though.

BUILDING QUALITY
is the bottom of the oven supposed to lean in one direction and not lay flat? hope so, if not im appalled cause mine leans towards one side.

OVERHEATING?
my device gets really hot.

Overall im confused, so if there are any tips pr whatsoever please come through as at moment I feel like I may have wasted some money.

Have you tried reading the manual? It feels like you're missing a few basic steps
  1. hows your grind size? It should be fine
  2. is it packed tight?
  3. How are you hitting it? You should try to hit it like a cigar; short pulls with ~30 sec breaks in between to let it build up vapor.
  4. This is a session device, but without a timer. If it's unable to get you where you want to go in ~10 hits, this might not be the vape for you
  5. Stir. Unless you're using the halfpack lid, stirring is often recommended to get the most vapor production

The bottom of the oven has the pax screen. It’s supposed to sit at a slight angle so that it doesn’t block the air pathway.

Is this your 1st vape? Vaping is different from smoking. Although some people like big vapor clouds, it’s really not necessary. For thicker vapor, try increasing the temperature.

Hope this helps!

So the vape is not designed for tobacco at all. I would scrap trying that. Not to sure how good your flowers are but if they are not so great that can really effect a session. The steps that always yield me a long session and very big clouds are as follows : Grind somewhat fine , Pack the oven tight ( I mean push down when you pack so your flower is sort of turning into a brick in the oven ) I start at temp 2 but 3 may be better for you. If this does not get you nice clouds than it is your material. We already know the device works as you stated it gets hot. It should not get to hot that you cannot hold it but after about 5 minutes of use it will get warm. Did you verify it is a legit unit as well as there are many fakes going around. The screen is meant to be like that as others have stated. Best of luck

I have pax3 a very short time ago ...
Do all people agree that it is best to pack the oven tight?
When I had the pax1 I used to fill half oven and before a draw I would shake it slightly, upside down, with good results. Does anyone do this with pax3?

The PAX is a conduction vape. The walls of the oven conduct heat to the material inside. The other kind of vape is convection, where heated sir goes over the material.
Given that we use conduction, you would want the heat to be conducted to all the inside material as quickly and evenly as possible. Even heating results in better and more consistent performance. Any insulator in the oven will slow heat transfer.. Air is a wonderful insulator. Air gaps will slow the heat transfer from the oven. That's why we recommend packing it tightly. To eliminate air gaps.
We recommend finely grinding the material. A fine grind results in more surface area of material. That gives chemicals in the material an easier path to follow when they change phase - better release of vaporized materials.
So there is science bpbehind it.

Yes, really packed...
I use Budkups and I compress the material about as tight as I can. Always gets great results.

Pax on...

The only thing I don’t love is how much herb you need to pack in there to have a great session.

My love for pax increased substantially as soon as I started growing. Luckily this was the same time as pax 1's birth. Now I have these pax, 1, 2, 3's (2's my favorite) laying around everywhere. But for wasteful use of weed and quick popcorn flavor it would be my favorite vape. That said, it's probably my most used vape because they're awesome!

Ps. No usb intake means these are very water resistant!

Are you sure that you bought an original one and not a counterfeit?

I bought it on a website in France ( not ebay or other), so i think it's a legit one....but how to be really sure ?

Why the taste is bad and why i don't get real flavor ?

So sorry to hear of your bad taste experience. You may want to email pax to confirm it is authentic, and to help you troubleshoot. The Vape SHOULD be very tasty.

You can also try sending a pm to @Ojan_at_PAX . I haven't seen him here recently, but he has been incredibly helpful. I hope he's still with pax and is doing well.

And welcome to FC!!!

Hello,

About my pax, i sent an email to pax support, they do some verification about the serial number and the store where i bought mine and they told me it was authentic.

So...they just told me to try to vape fresh mint leafes in order to """erase""" any bad taste...

I will try but i'm sceptical :( :(

Not great flavor, even at low T° and sometimes a plastic taste...I think they could create a Pax 4 in full ceramic and with a pyrex mouthpiece to be perfect.

I don't really know what to do :D

What?? they really told you to put some "mint leaf" for erase the bad taste, really? It's a joke i guess, ask for a real support @Ojan_at_PAX please give proper support and not this poor solution, cmon a 2month old Pax 3 !!! wake up !!!

edit: You can try to contact the retailer and see if he can handle the warranty process and maybe send you a new pax (at least ask^^)

Haha no joke my friend, it's really an email from pax website lol. About the plastic taste i think it 100% pyrex mouthpiece could be a game changer...why pax didn't design a pyrex mouthpiece ?

Btw, i'm considering getting a mighty to compare...I'm looking for the better flavor and i think it's the better no?

I just got some wax for the first time and put it in my Pax 3 concentrate cup and I'm amazed at how well it does. Just like with flower the flavor goes to shit quick but this vape continues to amaze me. Just thought I'd chime in with that little nugget of info.

hello guys!

I own a pax 3 now around 1.5 year and use it frequently only with dry herb.
Since a month I have an issue with the top button. It doesn't work constantly. I can turn the device with one push on most of the time, but when the device gets warm the button only reacts really infrequent. First I tought the problem comes from the ''used'' mouthpiece, it gotten a little bit softer compared to a new one, so I bought a new one, but still the same issue. The button only works when I push it very hard down and then still not all the time. I'm afraid that this makes the problem even worse over time.

Does anyone else has this Problem after using the device more than a year? Is this a common issue with the pax series? Since the pax2 has the same build. I had also a pax 2 but didn't used it that much.

Is this covered by the warranty? @Ojan_at_PAX

I had similar problem with the power button on my Pax 2. When it got really bad, I made a claim & it was replaced under warranty. Mine got to the point where I’d have to take mouthpiece off to push the button underneath directly. I was always able to turn it off by putting it on the charger... it shuts off the oven to start charging (safety feature?).
