@wall I have some side to side play with my medium wooden stem as well. Tried it in the Splinter too with the same result. Still seems to make enough contact inside the female joint that it seals properly and doesn’t affect vapor production.

Not sure if it’s designed to be removed but I was able to remove the glass insert prior to using it. But, now that I have a few packs through it I can’t remove it (not trying with a lot of force though).

Outside of the middling fitment I’m really digging the wooden stem. I like using the dosing capsules for a quick unload/reload and the a-maze cooler really does seem to help cool the vapor down a lot. I’m able to take comfortable rips at 405F, which typically leave me coughing with the 4” straight stems I have. I’d say it’s close to, if not on par with the vapor “coolness” I get when using the DDave Vapor Cooler stem dry. Love the look of it on the Tubo, too!
So does it work with the splinter? It seems like it sits right on the bottom at the heater but I'm not sure if that will be a big deal

I haven’t used it with the Splinter yet. Just checked the fitment with the glass joint to make sure I wasn’t missing something... Did this without the S&B capsule in there. Just checked it again with the capsule and it certainly doesmakes contact with the heater screen. I don’t think I’ll be using this stem with the Splinter unless I pack the stem natively without the capsule.

Mine arrived finally and looks great :o
Customs made some trouble though. They mangled the package and got some little scratches on the display while also slapping me with a nice extra fee. But oh well, nothing too bad. Now time to figure out the best settings for this work of art :D .

My Tubo X arrived from the 4/20 sale that overwhelmed funky and I'm wondering how I can best learn the steps for burnoff and proper use.

I have a new Eleaf Invoke and eVic VTC Dual. I've never used a box mod before.

Got my replacement for a dead Tubo and am putting it through its paces. So far, it's kicking my ass (just as expected). I'm not the least bit afraid of having my ass handed to me for years to come by this thing. I love this product. My favorite vape by far.

Funky is a wonderful guy to deal with. Be patient with his growing pains please. The man builds a great product.

How long does priority untracked usually take to ship to the States? Also anything I should know prior to getting the tubo? I already picked up some extra batteries but anything about the unit i should know specifically? Also I know the setting that usually seems to be tweaked is the coil resistance. Should my coils ever be glowing in the dark and if so at what temp do you start to see the glow? Thanks appreciate the help!

Mine took 7 days in total to arrive via untracked priority shipping (I'm in the greater Boston, MA area).

Not much else you need to prepare for your Tubo... although I will say, make sure you have plenty of herb as you'll most likely have a hard time putting it down! :sherlock:

I did pick up 15 additional basket screens from Amazon here - https://amazon.com/gp/product/B073WQJYRS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm not sure what percentage of Tubo owners have changed their resistance value but I'm assuming it's quite low. I haven't touched mine and it runs perfectly. My coils never glow, even when using the warm-up function which pushes 40W or so (readout displays 470F or so during warm up).

Word up @Simple Man, I've just started using and enjoying mine this weekend. Check back and let me know if you have a favorite method. I'm still pretty clueless.
I usually just use cruise mode. Two clicks to enter cruise, then just sit back and hit it as often as I remember. I like to slow sip and I get distracted so I've doubled the default time length of the cruise. That way it lasts long enough for me to get through a little basket bowl. If I get really distracted, I need to run a second cruise session to finish the bowl. Works great. The only downside is I burn through batteries faster but I'm running four 25Rs in rotation so I've never been left uncharged.

There's no wrong way to use it though. I sometimes use four clicks to use step mode. Sometimes I just use demand mode. Regardless, this thing is efficiently powerful.

It's so frustrating still having to wait for my wooden stem.
I ordered the day they were released and the order was shipped 21.06. and I'm living in a neighbor country! I honestly hope the envelope didn't get lost in transit...

I just got my tubo in from 4/18, and I'm not sure I'm doing it right? I packed the short stem with flower between the interior screen and capped it with the bucket screen, is this correct? Or am I supposed to pack it in the bucket? I tried it out at 180, but didn't get any vapor, bumped it up to 200 and got thin wisps of vapor. I also tried the water pipe adapter, about 1/3-1/2 full, and wasn't able to get any vapor. Patiently waiting for my battery to charge so I can experiment some more.

I don’t use water, so I can’t help with the WPA. As to loading stems, some do it one way, some the other. Personally, I prefer to use only the the top hat (bucket) screen, and lightly tamp it. This gets the herb closer to the heater, which my be why I like it. Also, did you preheat? Note that even with preheating you may get somewhat thin vapor on the first draw. It depends also on the moisture content, grind type, how tightly it’s packed (and maybe something else I’ve missed?). If none of that helps, you may need to adjust the resistance.

Or, maybe you used too much LSD?

I was trying to use on demand mode, since that's the primary reason I bought it. I was playing around with cruise control and basket packing and was able to get some vapor going. I got a few device too hot errors, and tried dialing down the coil resistance from stock. This thing eats batteries like the RC cars of my childhood, 20 minutes of fun and 3 hours of charging.

But it could be the acid...

By the sounds of it your device is fine. I would turn the resistance up a bit from stock, perhaps .003, such that during warm-up the coil faintly glows in the dark but the glow is not visible in normal lighting situations. Then draw very slowly when hitting until you exhale visible vapor; this heat soaks the glass. Once you start getting vapor, go to town and huff as hard as you like. Let us know how that goes. I find really long and slow draws to help her get going. Also, coarse grind loose pack for the win.

Oh, I don't think there's something wrong with the device, more in my technique/packing. When I was sandwhiching the flower between the interior screen and the bucket screen at first, I packed it pretty loosely. With the bucket packs, I've gotten some scorching, but lots of vapor for 2-3 hits.

Just to be clear, when you say turn up the resistance, you mean increment the number? I thought I was supposed to turn it down. I went to .199 from the stock .202. I've gotten a few device too hot errors when trying cruise control and when trying on demand, so maybe this will help?

I'm still a total beginner with my Tubo X and just wanted to thank everyone for the detailed descriptions and suggestions. So far I've just been packing in the mouthpiece and capping with the basket screen. I got the best early results with the short mouthpiece lightly tamped using the blunt and of the included poker. I'll try packing screens and I'll try coarse grind / loose pack too.

If your were not expecting thin whisps at 200 then turn up the resistance. I pack the elbow and cap it with the basket screen in order to keep particulates out of the heater. I would recommend the same. In my experience the elbow needs to be packed full, coarse, and loosely packed (hand broken up and straw packed) which is a considerable amount more green than using the basket as the bowl. However, I get super high, taking copius long extended draws over a 5 minutes cruise.

Get more batteries like 4 VTC6 + 4 slot battery charger. that way. 4 x 30 minutes is 2 hours playtime. So even if you go trough 2 batteries you will have two more that are charged up and until another hour of operation is gone, you will have the other cells ready to use. External charger > USB charging. I have a charger that can charge 4 cells at 1.5 Amps each.. w'hile the USB charging only can cough up to 0.5 A and thats best case scenario..
Use switch to cruise wait 30 seconds and then make a few hits, from there you can either go in on demand or continue cruising.
On demand on cold heater is the scenario that eats most of the battery :).

The temp displayed is that if the coils really. Your load is removed from these somewhat... especially if your loading inside the joint (between the internal and cap screen) as I do too.

The temp range I use to vape within on my Tubo's is 215-230 on the display.

On demand mode works so much better when the glass is hot. I usually start any session with a cruise then switch to on demand. Alternatively maybe try running cruise/warm up for a couple of mins (while you're preparing your stem or something) before starting your on demand session.

I've never adjusted any stock setting on my devices. Only thing that gets adjusted is temp.

As an edit, I can highly recommend the PA if the battery eating is an issue, and you use it a lot at home
