Perhaps someone might start a "chat" thread where you can go to say hello each morning and share your thoughts for the day.
We have plenty of threads that are non-vape related discussion and they are all in our lounge. If you'd like to make a thread about chatting about your thoughts for the day, you are free to do so but it would belong in the lounge, not the vape discussion threads. Let's please keep this thread vapcap-centric.

Also, we have a rule about public discussion of moderator actions.

  • Public discussions of staff decisions are not permitted on the site. If you have any concerns or queries relating to a staff decision please take it up in private with a staff member.

Thank you.

:peace:

Sorry, but who cares?
Most people on here I would think, surely more interested in members purchases than some Latin jibberish.
Anyway I will shut up now, I don`t want to go around telling people what to do as if I am a moderator, pretty sure that is against the rules too.

Sun rays or even ...a laser beam could have had their share of potentional
as VC heating sources .As long as the cap was not reflective to light .

'Cause only three things can happen to light quanta ( aka photons ) as a form of energy :

1 ) Be reflected , like incident light gets to be from a shiny stainless steel surface .
Nothing weird here ...

2 ) Be transmitted through matter and/or

3) Be absorbed and transformed into heat .

Now ...How one can turn a shiny reflective surface
into a light- absorbing one ?

"When visible light strikes an object and a specific frequency becomes absorbed, that frequency of light will never make it to our eyes. Any visible light that strikes the object and becomes reflected or transmitted to our eyes will contribute to the color appearance of that object. So the color is not in the object itself, but in the light that strikes the object and ultimately reaches our eye. "

Black caps were (are) at a premium. ;)

I received my first Dynavap unit on Fri and i must say i am blown away at the power of this little beast. I picked up an 2018 M off PIU for their 4th of july sale, and i gotta say i am glad i took the plunge. Being that this was my first time trying a butane lit vape i didn't quite know what i was getting myself into. I did combust already once cuz i forgot while very medicated to wait for the 2nd click to alert you of cool down. But since then its been smooth sailing, my double torch cheapo lighter though ran out of gas already, but i have found a regular bic is giving me even better hits some how, it'l take 3 times as long to heat but i believe it heats the oven more thoroughly, its also very easy to use with a small candle.

BUT lighters keep crapping out.
So I have been told to keep away from the Zippo Blu, apparently it needs the lifetime warranty as it is prone to failure like most jet lighter:disgust:
So don`t bother with this, I should not have recommended it;

No worries, it looks cool but the price wasn't right. No, my Chinese IH is on the way now. Your mission is to experiment the fuck with yours so I know what to expect. I can't believe I'm just going to load a cap, hold it inside a magic hole, even go 4 mississippi past the second click and enjoy. No spinning you say? And what would happ5if my Pablovian instinct to Twirl kicks in? And if I touch the sides?

I tried twirling it while inserted, no different from just holding it still. My unit has a top hat insert that is removable for easy cleaning, I insert the vapcap fully in the middle of the hole (it does not hurt anything if you touch the sides) I just tried it hands free, just sat it in and let it balance by itself, got to first click in about 7 seconds with the 2nd click less than a second later, rinse and repeated 5 times and thought I combusted on the last because of the amount of vapor and less than great taste, dumped the abv and it was milk chocolate brown, the load was not even singed but by fucking oath I am.
Edit; Probably better off not leaving it hands free as it is leaving melty marks on the inside of the plastic top hat(I didn`t hear the second click as it was so fast after the 1st click, I suppose the cap was getting a bit hot for it, I wonder what I can use to stop the melts.(pay more attention I suppose.)

Maybe one of the glass inserts that Pipes uses in his IH would fit inside?
It wouldn't matter if it were too long, but the diameter would have to be small enough to fit in.
What's the id of the plastic top hat?

The top hat inside diameter is 25mm (1"), my 18mm carb cap works in it inverted pretty tight in the top hat or with top hat removed and straight in the oven and pretend you are changing gears as it heats, but is slower, I think I will just hang on to it in the oven without the top hat so I can test other methods.:myday:

You will definitely melt that rubber insert if you let the hot metal cap rest on it. However, it still heats it well no matter where you place it.

A 10ml glass beaker fits the hole quite well but I didn't notice any difference in performance so I took it out.

I have just found out my M18 was delivered with a Ti condenser, turns out the Chinese dental IH is also a Ti detector, my M18 body and other metal objects will start the IH but my Ti pick and my condenser will not, so it must be Ti.
This keeps getting better, it has knocked me around a bit the last couple of days (a couple of my other vapes are getting jealous)

@LesPlenty I don't quite follow. .... Does that mean it will heat both Ti and SS tips or not. The Cap itself doesn't matter, right? What happens to a wooden body???

With all the hoo-ha about induction heaters, the dental wax tool heater has recently
been in people’s ear wax. L;)L

Then there is another contender,
made by Lucid Custom:

Custom cut enclosure displays, plus
the bells and whistles of colored LED lights.

While a heavyweight in looks, the selling price is the price itself ( you know I had meant,
“the unit itself”, right? ). HHU.
