I can't make up my mind!

Hello, while I'm new on this forum, I used to own an Arizer Air some years ago.

I wanted to upgrade it and thought of buying an Arizer solo 2. But the price kinda threw me off. It's not like I don't have money to buy it, rather I can't bring myself to press that checkout button. Same things happened today when I tried to order a mighty and then a crafty.

Even with cheaper vapes I have this problem. I dunno what is wrong with me. Please send help! I'm so conflicted!

What is holding you back? You said it’s not the price... we need more info to help you click that button.
All of the ones you mentioned are great options. But until we have a better idea of how/where/when you will use, not sure what advice would help.

@Jill NYC You are right. I still trying to understand it myself but I've just realized that maybe it's because I didn't like the taste of the weed while using my Air. Dunno if it was the vape or the weed itself, but it was like tasting grass. Maybe I was doing something wrong at the time. So I think I'm scared of having another "bad time" "wasting" 300 euro. I know Mighty it's the best out there, but still...

Plus, "legal" weed here costs a lot (10 euro x gr) so I won't use the vape that much, I guess.

If it doesn’t need to be portable, a desktop like the NewVape FlowerPot or Evo are better options in my opinion. If it does need to be portable, there are still a lot of good options.

It seems like you’re not taking that last step because you’re still not sure what you want, and considering the fairly different options you’ve almost bought, I think it would help to narrow down what you’re looking for.

For example, a convection vaporizer like the FP or Evo (and the Fury 2 is also mostly convection I believe) will allow you to load it up and hit it at random times throughout the day, or over and over all at once until it’s fully extracted if that’s what you want. Some will even fully extract a load in one hit if you set them right.

Something like Mighty or Crafty will be a hybrid convection/condition device more suited to a single session where you load it up and use the entire bowl in one session. Most people I’ve heard from are not happy with more than maybe 2 sessions with the same material in a conduction or hybrid device.

Personally, having a low tolerance, I’m usually more inclined toward full convection devices that I can use to get a small dose whenever I want it, often using the same small load all night (or a large dose all at once of that’s what I need), but I do still use convection vapes too.

If you can figure out what you really want in that area, plus any other major factors in how you want to use it or what’s important to you (like portability, stealth, flavor, effects, harshness, etc.) I think you’ll have a much easier time narrowing it down and buying the right thing for you. :)

@VaporWare Thank you so much for your insightful answer! It really opened up my mind! I did some research and I think I want to buy a convection vaporizer.

I will buy a Tubo Evoc, eventually, but for now I'm looking at the Boundless Tera V3 and flowermate swift pro. Decisions... Decisions... I'm more prone to buy the first one, tbh. They say it have little to no conduction.

Tubo is a great choice! Watch for the TuboX its amazing. I would spare the flowermate swift pro because it is most of the time a plugin vape (battery life is a joke). If you are decided on a tubo just pick a false Fury for cheap while you wait (or a vapcap M). I have a Fenix mini (Fury cheap rebrand) and it is rock solid and performs very similar to the Tera for a fraction of the price. Once you have the Tubo you will only use the Fury in stealth situations because the tubo is a beast.

I get it?. I own shit load of vapes..crafty (which plastic that holds mouth piece on broke.now totally useless..),arizer solo and air both I enjoy but don't use...firefly 2 I got cause a few you tubers said it was the best..hate it and it's in the drawer with the others..oh yeah..again highly recommended dyna cap...hate it..needless to say I spent tons of $$ on hyped up vapes I don't like or don't use...
I now want a real portable in the pocket small vape..a good one..and torn between a pax 3 (like the thought of using shatter with it) or airgo.....not a clue what to get

@jardri That's actually.... smart. I see an european site is having a summer sale for a Fenix (just 69 euro and free shipping), but I'm also evaluating a Vivant Alternate or a MistVape touch!

@lookhigh Yeah, now that I remember the last time I vaped that sh*t I felt sick... Like I was having one of my epileptic attacks (no seizures, just confusion and blank moments). Thank "God" the police arrested them all lol

@Mzsusanne People here are helping me a lot! I think I'm almost ready to buy my second vape :)
VaporWare post is really illuminating, imho. Try to read it, if you haven't.

At the end of the day all vapes, vape: :p
As I tell everyone, the best is the one that suits YOUR personal needs. The one you see yourself most comfortable using on a daily basis. Youtubers are a good guideline, but again, for you to see how it may adapt to your lifestyle.

Sorry I'm going to throw more confusion in there, but I'll recommend a desktop model for both of you:
If you have already tried decent mid-range portables and aren't satisfied, I doubt other mid-range portables would do the trick however decent, unless you consider something way more powerful and/or a different design; Tubo/Splinter/MiniVap :luv: or something like that.
Especially being a therapeutic patient, a small portable is ok for discretion and ease of use, like a Pax, but doesn't compare performance wise to a decent home/hybrid unit.
@Mzsusanne I wouldn't want to aim for filling the drawer with more junk, just get rid of the drawer!
Selling them Ebay or similar would free up some cash for another purchase, as well as help other people?
Again, if you don't like the Air, I seriously doubt an ArGo or Pax would fit the bill, they're very similar.

This is a repeat but the tubo is one of the best vapes out there. It's made in Switzerland and works more like a plug in in terms of power. On the other hand, the fury 2 is also great and perfect for stealth. I have to move to a smoke free place for 6 weeks and packed all my vapes. They're in my storage bin and I'd have to open dozens of boxes to find them. I realized too late that the fury would have been perfect to bring because it's so small I can vape easily outside. I have a couple of vapcaps I found but I don't consider them stealth and as usual I have trouble with lighters. I went through 5 last night trying to find one that works consistently without success. And they range in price from expensive to cheap. No difference. So far no one has recommended one to you and that's good.

Do what I did and just buy them all. Jheez, what a stupid means of trial and error. Things worked out well though. Pretty much every vaporizer I was interested in I found used at great prices. Well except for my Mighty which I bought new.

All my vapes have something about them that I really love, unfortunately they all seem to have something about them that I absolutely hate as well.

If you’re reading recommendations right now you’re just wasting your time. I’m not kidding, they all have specific awesomeness and specific suckfests.

How important is taste? Draw resistance? Battery life? Maintenance concerns? Longevity concerns? Size of portion? Portability discretion and use while moving? Efficiency? Removable battery? Aftermarket stuff (bubblers, glass mouthpieces, water pipe adapters)? Strength of hit? Smoothness of hIt? Do you plan on just one vaporizer? And so on.

Buying them all is a pretty expensive venture. I know because I've done something like that. I'm too lazy to sell so most have gone to Vitolo. I still think that recommendations make a difference- especially if someone has tried some that are being considered. It's still an individual preference- I've given away my arizer solo and air and wouldn'tj buy one again while lots of people like them. But recommendations provide a good starting place unless one has a lot of money. And if I had all that money at one time I'd probably buy one of the desktops that are over $500.

I was kinda being a wiseass with the buy em all endorsement. Still though, by buying used I did exceptionally well. My point was really about telling us specific things on what posters are looking for, and just as importantly what they want to avoid. What’s a necessity, and what’s a dealbreaker. Stuff like that is important to know if someone is going to make an informed recommendation.

I know recommendations are just that, recommendations. What I read until now is really illuminating and helped me a lot. I now know what I want: full convection, easy to draw, low-easy maintenance, the portatily is not a problem (I would vape at home only or mostly, but I feel like desktop vapes would be a pain in the ass and I reslly like portable vapes), the battery should be repleaceble and I want it to last at least 80 minutes. I want to taste the flavour of the weed. I still have to figure out the importance of the clouds (some people like thick clouds, some don't) thou. The price is not a concern, but I hate wasting money.

I actually think at some point I will own several devices, but for now I want to find a vape that I can easily use when I feel like to vape while I wait to snag that sweet tubo evoc. I really like it. Worst case scenario I can sell it, if I don't like it.

So, I actually want to try a dynacap M. It is cheap and easy to use, or so it seems. I think the fury 2 costs too much (129 euro) and I could buy something better with just 30-40 more euro.

Well, of course my grail is the nomad. Isn't it rad???

I don't really think you could do better than the fury with just 30 or 40 more euro unless that takes you into the tubo, splinter, iheat category. I'll get to compare the tubo and nomad in a few months I think. I'm number 50 but don't want to get mine before I move back home.

The Nomad is at the top of my wish list too (I’m on the waiting list but not in the current batch :(). It’s great hearing early reports that it has performance to match the aesthetics, but it makes it even harder to wait! :uhoh:

I have a couple of VapCaps (18M and Omni XL) and as long as you’re okay using a little torch or an induction heater I think they’re good options to have. I’m not sure they’re exactly what you’re looking for, and some people just aren’t into them, but a lot of people (including a lot of people switching from smoking) love them.

VapCaps are pretty low maintenance, but they are conduction-heavy hybrids (a bit different from most though since they heat up and cool down fast which makes them somewhat better when used over several heat cycles), and there is a bit of air restriction, although it’s not terrible. I’m just spoiled by the very open airflow of the FlowerPot.

I understand your desire for a good portable, but I would also keep desktop options on your list, at least for the future. As much as I like my VapCaps and even my old DaVinci Ascent, if I could only have one vaporizer it would be the NewVape FlowerPot*.

It may look a little complicated, but it’s actually very easy to use, very low maintenance, can be on and ready to go all day if you want, and it’s one of the best performing vaporizers out there. It’s great with anything from crumbs to a larger amount than I need, plus concentrates (individually or at the same time), and you can set the temp low to get a bunch of small doses throughout the day or crank up the temp and fully extract a small load in one draw. You could put more in at high temps, but you’d probably just be wasting it.

Before you consider your collection complete I think you should at least check out the FP thread and maybe some other top rated desktops, but just to get started you probably won’t be disappointed with anything that’s frequently recommended around here. We’re lucky enough to have access to a lot of good options, and a great forum to help us learn about them and steer us in the right direction. :myday::2c:

* Unless I needed a “desert island vape” which would have to be the VapCap with its heat source flexibility and compact all-in-one design.

@VaporWare I think Vapcap 18M is funny looking! I like his mechanism and the shape. Can't really wait to vape with it :D I know it's conduction, but I thought it was a nice distraction while I wait for the real deal (I think I'm going to buy a lil bud).

Yeah, I will think about a desktop vape for my next house. The one I'm currently living in is a mess, and the desktop vape wouldn't help at all XD I really don't have room for it lol

I'm so lucky to have found this place <3 People are so kind and they love to spread their knowledge!

I would have bought a sad looking Mighty, instead of a funny looking M18 and a future lil'bud <3

@Demiurgo I hope you love the Vapcap M18 as much as all It's fans. Vapcaps are reliable, indestructible, versatile, super efficient and easy to clean and maintain. Their tiny size ensures that they are not an intrusive element in your home. The modularity makes it fun to customize and a Stoners LEGO. The freedom from the tether of batteries and cords means you won't have to deal with cord tangles and battery rotation.

Please join us over at the Vapcap thread. We are a happy bunch of Vapcap fans, eager to answer your questions.

@Squiby Oh, your links are really helpful :o I knew about the click thing, but the other tips will help me for sure to not screw up!

I bought the metal version, but I wonder if the wood mouthpiece is better?

I prefer the wooden mp and the titanium tip for smoking raw, the wooden mp however doesn't fit into the 10mm joint on my little bong that I use with the M.

It's not a huge difference, I'd still advise everybody to start with an M, both to see if you like this style of vaping and because a stainless steel M is always worth having handy. I'm not taking my stylish blackwood vapcap in my pocket mountain biking or out to somewhere it might get confiscated, an M is almost indestructible and resonably cheap compared to most vapes.

All the Vapcap models are fantastic. You bought the basic M model and is some people's favorite. Its all stainless steel construction makes it extremely durable and its tip will heat and cool slightly slower than the more expensive titanium tipped models.

You can switch up your M to integrate a wood mp if you like. You would need to buy an extra long (XL) condenser with a spinning wood mp. Then remove the condenser from your M and the stem from the tip. Turn the stem around and reattach it to your tip so the mp end is closest to the tip. Then insert the XL condenser and mp. That little rebuild will result in an XL M with a spinning wood mp.

https://www.dynavap.com/dynashop/parts/xl-condenser-kit-dark-wood-mouthpiece

you might also eventually want to try the titanium tip which you can buy separately as well.
