Discontinued Haze Square

Haze takes care. That’s for sure. We are yet to hear any reports of people having issues with phase 3. I know a few people have received theirs.

I’m super disappointed with Haze. I got my Square yesterday and combusted on the 3rd Bowl. I was trying it out for my girlfriend and I. I was putting some herb thru all 4 chambers to get the machine taste out before she tried it. (There seemed to be excessive machining taste— it would be nice if they clean it before it comes to us.)
This product is far from complete. I may have to return it. An electric vape like this should NEVER combust. It was so bad that I did a very good deep cleaning and still some of that char flavor. I think I may have even had flames come out of the mouthpiece. It burned my mouth and completely blackened the air chamber leading to the mouthpiece. It was black! I’ll share some photos of the iso cleaning q-tips.
So in short- 3rd Bowl in at pre-set temp #2 (370?). I could have done something “wrong” but a product should not come to market that is not user friendly.
After repacking all four chambers they were all very inconsistent with very little good flavor. Some burn taste.

This seems like an engineer made this that doesn’t have good design skills. It’s a lot to ask for but they need a Steve Jobs and Jony Ive over there!
With a portable vape we shouldn’t be bothered with our own screens or pod screens to keep from burning. It should just work.

More rant! I also can’t change any temps on my Pro because we are an Apple family. iPhones, MacBooks.
I would like to be able to vape in the 330’s to 350’s.

Question: I didn’t realize my 2012 MacBook Pro wouldn’t be able to charge it quickly. First charge took about 2.5 hours.
Is there some sort of quick charge power bank anyone would recommend?

So to summarize: horrible first night with the Square Pro.

Sorry to be negative but I’m very disappointed.

@greenlove not sure how you combusted.

I’ve only had it happen once to me and once to a buddy. Both times were due to a too tight of a pack. Second time I had a screen tamped down in my pod. So it was user error. Also, it’s all about how you draw with this unit. When you feel the heat you need to pull quicker. This unit is so smooth and you shouldn’t feel anything coming in by yet exhale some nice visible vapor.

To address your charging issue, it comes with two cables. A black cable and a white cable. I understand you have the pro. The black cable is to use with the app and does not quick charge. You need to use the charging block plugged into the wall with the white cable (USB-C) cable.

If you try again and still combust after making changes, contact Haze. They will help you out.

Convention vapes are not for everyone. And you are a phase 3 unit I assume?

Hey @greenlove sorry you had such a bad experience.

Don't give up on the Square.

I think most users would probably agree, if you want a vape that you just turn on, hit it, don't have to think or have any technique, this is probably not the one. But if you want a vape the once you figure out the technique and maybe throw some screens in, not that big of a deal, will give you the biggest strongest tastiest hits of any portable, this is the Vape.

To piggy back off this post, I had a love hate relationship with this thing. Read my posts from page 105 and up until now. I’ve had the unit for about a month. It took time getting use to it. I didn’t give up. Now I love true thing and is all I want to use. I used it daily since I got it. More you use it better it becomes. I also cleaned mine before using it. Especially where the mouth piece goes in the top of the unit.

Mine went back to the shop twice now it's amazing.

As far as battery life goes, my square is in my house or my car each time I use it I plug it in until it's fully charged. @Haze Vaporizers told me this was okay and would not deplete the batteries lifespan. @Haze Vaporizers can you confirm this about the battery for the group?

Definitely plan on soaking all parts and washing silicone. You can't leave that to haze, I've cleaned every vape before first use that should be common practice for all new devices especially china machined ones. And like I said before I'm low riding the temps like not past 360 and full light packs.
Convection can't have air flow restrictions because that's where the combustion happens along with inconsistent draw technique. Not saying that some of the combustion might be units needing tweaking. I just think a most of it is user error.

I always do the same, every single new vape.

Any chance that combustion happened on the first hit? There is a couple of us having issues with a bug that happens sometimes on the first hit after turning it on.

Thanks, I will try the wall charger the next time.

When I first loaded the square I only loaded 2 bowls. Smoked about half, opened the unit up and put those same pods in the other two airpathways in order to clear all the factory taste. When I combusted I did not have the other 2 pods in the unit. Is there any reason why all four material pods need to be inserted before vaping? I have the Mighty (convection/conduction) and the little XMAX Starry (conduction) but yes I'm sure draw technique will need to be honed in. I'm going to try it again tonight.

I ordered through an online retailer this week. I'm assuming it's their phase 3 lot.

We have several accessories coming out soon. I think that it will add convenience to multiple departments. If you all enjoy the micro-dose pods that we are going to release, we are considering replacing couple of these in the base package for all future customers after the preorder phase is over and also send these to the preorder customers who already received their units at no cost (except for shipping for international orders).

Anybody receiving a phase 2/3 unit and combusting, it is purely technique/packing or cleaning. All seal issues have been addressed on new units and also we checked all material tolerances.

Our Apple MAC app will be submitted to Apple next week for final approval. All MAC users will be able to use the app. Our next step will be the Android version. It is a more challenging work but we will work on it right away.

Once all of our shipments are completed next week, we will be focusing on creating FAQ videos and troubleshooting videos/content for all users. We will be using feedback from you all to address all common questions. We will also add techniques which work for most users here. We are on FC 100% of the time for this reason. You guys are essential part of the Haze team so we can learn from experiences and apply these to enhance our offerings. The micro-dose pods are going to be provided at no cost (except for shipping) for this purpose as a thank you to all FC members.

This thread is full of valuable contributors, enthusiasts and customers which we appreciate a lot. We make a note of every post, every comment. We just simply need to weed out a handful of other comments as we see a trend. Some people believe that they can just buy a vape to try it out and return it for a full refund after using it. Usually the first step for these people is to contact us, demanding a full refund and if we point out our published return policy, their next step is to create an account here and on Reddit to bash. I am not pointing out a specific post or person so hope nobody is offended by this.

It is hard to differentiate a true experience of a customer who is willing to share it here from a hostile comment that is posted purely to put pressure on us but it is the nature of the business and we do understand. We do our best to read every comment, make notes, reach out to the customer to help with the learning curve. 99% of the customers do appreciate this and we can live with the other 1%.

I will have 2 more announcements in the next 2 weeks. Again, we appreciate you all.

No. All 4 bowls do not need to be in vape. I have two out cleaning.

And once again Haze surpasses my expectations. Microdose pods to pre orders only pay shipping. Jesus! Who even does that. Loved my Dual V3 that’s now collecting dust because I love the Square. This just keeps adding to my reasons why I per ordered. But waited for phase 2 so the phase 1 kinks were worked out.

I also keep a full battery like @RogueGuy i charge before bed but not after every use.

I’ve also never expected any vape company to clean a vape before using it. Some things you clean before use when they arrive. I’ll let your imagination work with that. Not spelling it out. Violates a rule somewhere. I’ve gone 3-4 years with no points. No starting now haha.

Once again excited to go home and vape after work. Can I get 3 days out of the same bowl of NY Sour Diesel? I doubt it. Was tasting pretty bad on the last hit last night.

I also think Haze is making a smart move to offer micro dose in the initial purchase. That is a true proof that they did listen to us. It will allow the user to use the device completely how they want. Full bowls or microdose. Once again, thanks haze for listening. This has been a journey for sure. But I’ve enjoyed it all and happy I could help

@greenlove My q tips looked like that too. But that was after the initial clean before using the unit. That was some left over from manufacturing. I did make a post regarding that when I received mine advising that everyone should clean the airpath before using it.

I have combusted before once again user error and when I cleaned they weren’t black.

Also this into being so free flowing will allow you to really rip and Hull on this thing. And the best part is you will barely feel any heat in your mouth and when you exhale poof nice visible vapour. Mind you that for me is at 350F

Also for mods, did not mean to post back to back. I was quoting and replying to greenlove who is deleted some posts.

I need some suggestions on the right temp to vape my herb at.

TBH this is my first vape so I’m about to get a crash course.

This thread is legit. Thanks a lot guys. I’m guessing for wax, shatter, and all that it’s max temp right?

If you want to get blown pack a .3 and set temp to 420, 430, or 440. I do not suggest 450. That’s too close to combustion in my opinion. I never go that high. I’m perfectly fine at 350 and the odd time 395F if drunk and late at night.

If doing wax or shatter yeah I say 450. You want the highest temp possible or 440. I never done wax in this or shatter. I’ve only had a gram that lasted me months and I ran through my Haze Dual V3. Yet to run shatter through the square, so I can’t be of more help other than what I stated. I’m too cheap to buy shatter right now after I just picked up 5 different strains of weed lol.

I got the pro, but i don’t have the app for it yet. Yeah I might not try wax just wondering. Just basically looking for the right temps cuz this is my first vape and I don’t want to just waste my weed.

You will get great hits and effects regardless of temp. I was getting lit at 325. Minimal visible vapour. But getting good effects and still saw some vapour. If you want huge clouds then anything above 400. If you want some good flavour I say 340-360. I say you play around with the settings. That’s where you will find what works for you.
