@steama I just tried to clean the SiC dish while it was on but it wasnt working. So I did my SiC deep clean again, to see if I could replicate it. Water straight out of the kettle, just boiled, and a completely cold SiC dish. Came up as new, cleans so fucking easily. No scrubbing, no ISO, just a few wipes with cotton buds.

This reminded me of you asking why your temps are so good for cleaning. I think any higher temps and the water just doesnt have the time to get thru the dirt before it evaporates.

Its absolutely amazing that the dish comes up like new again with every clean.

That is interesting. Pour boiling water over the sic dish huh? That is brilliant and makes sense. I have been going 235F with distilled water and it seems to get everything too. I am going to try your method next fo sho --- sound so much easier and you don't waste a shitload of q-tips.

Thanks for the info my friend.

 :peace:

Oh, I've been q-tipping, with the hot water in a jar. But yesterday, I did give the dish a soak too.

Hmm, options :D

I retired my shower head today. Now exclusively VROD.

Mines in a bag, in a drawer.

Does anyone else hate dabbing on the V-Rod? It it the quartz dish they provide? I've had to bump the temperature up to 730 to get about the same quality vapor from dabbing on the showerhead

Wait... What!? :)

I didnt use the quartz dish, but I'm using a d-nail SiC dish and came straight from having spent a few months doing nothing but dabs on the SH.

SiC dish gets a huge vote of confidence from me.

I dab at 715F and the quartz worked fine but the sic dish works better.

d-nail factory second for only $40 are back in stock. I purchased one and can vouch for their quality.

SPECIFICATIONS:
**Factory 2nd meaning there may be blemishes on the dish surface, unrecognizable to most onlookers. Functionality and durability is not compromised in the slightest. NOT recommended for use with ANALOG controllers

:myday:

Thanks for the recommendation. Hopefully its better than this thing. Can't believe I like dabbing on the showerhead better than this. Never really cared to dab of of the showerhead either. Hopefully this Dnail dish can help out. Just ordered one so we shall see

The difference here for me between the two (SH vs SiC) has been so large, I cant really over state it.

Hope it works for ya.

Didn't like dabbing on the quartz at all! Now that I have the sic dish for the VROD its a different story

Just want to wish you all a great week!

My Showerhead is working so flawless that i don t find a reason to buy the VRod and i feel happy to be part of the club :peace:

Only thing i could ad is a got my first dropdown for my rig and although i does not make a huge difference i like useing it. Changes the draw a bit and the hot parts are more away from my face...

Watch your water.......it will be different after a few days compared to not using the drop down. Drop downs rule for heavy hitting vapes.

Showerhead luv'r here as well......being able to use different size glass bowls with this head gives it an advantage over the vrod for me.....

I was looking at that one awhile ago....but seems way too small volume for a vape like the flowerpot.

I was thinking of getting some of those ruby or sapphire ball things that go in the dish to help dabs. Does anyone know what size they should be to fit the dnail SiC? Will they fit the vrod? And if anyone knows the previous two questions, any chance someone makes/distributes them
In the UK?

Anyone own this caddy?
https://www.newvape.com/flowerpot-caddy

It’s peicey but seems like a perfect storage option. Also want to make sure it works for new VROD parts and cap though
yes sir... I love it. Only negative (for now) is that it doesnt fit the VROD. But since I have both the other heads and several bowls, etc. I got it anyways. Very very nicely machined. The heat post and the bowl cleaner align inside the tray so you dont have to remove them when closing it up. The space for all the dabbing tools is great. This thing is heavy. But its shiny. fits so nice in my vape area. did I say it was shiny.... :D

I've been vaping almost exclusively on a Hopper and a Flowerpot/Showerhead since getting the plug-in vape back in May. Now I know you can't really make a direct comparison between the two units as they are different technologies but I'd love to get my Flowerpot to draw with the same resistance as my Hopper. I've tried bushing down a 18mm to 14mm, which helped but just a bit. I've tried using multiple screens along the vapor path, but that didn't really do it either, although I don't get as much material in the water so that's a plus. I'm wondering if adding a 10mm downstem might give me the resistance I'm looking for — any of you have any thoughts on this or solutions that have worked for you?

Have you tried the showercap? That’s going to be your best method to restrict your draw.

Carb cap?

I think the idea is ridiculous and that is why I like it. Well, using a carb cap @Likes2vape recommends will help for sure, however, New Vape just came out with hole plugs that you can put in the head of a showerhead effectively reducing airflow. I would imagine you could add them until no more could fit.

Oh yeah I forgot about the plugs.

Carb cap?
Yes the carb cap

vrod?

I spin my carb cap because it helps build vapor imo. This got me thinking that there could be a way to make a carb cap's 'top disk with the air hole' ride on a ball bearing ring instead of metal on metal.

This way you could just give it little twist and let it spin while you finish your rosin hit in a relaxing fashion.

IMO the carb cap could do a better job at spinning the vapor. Perhaps going back to the angled air hole like the V1 Showercap. I noticed the carb cap is a lot easier to spin in the horizontal dabber position versus the vertical.

Thanks for all the quick responses. Yup, the carb cap does a good job. What I'm looking for is something which frees me up a little — I'm hunched over, trying to keep the glass from moving, trying to spin the carb cap, trying to find its place in the tray, trying to get the FP back on its stand, trying not to get the power cord wrapped around the bong, trying not to burn myself — another arm or two would be helpful! It's all in good fun, of course, and I really like both vaporizers, but the Hopper is a lot less logistically challenging. I'll keep at it though and maybe over time my FP technique will improve.

Why do you want to slow down the draw... are you looking to match the resistance of the Hopper? I hope you are not going to say the vapor production. What temperature are you running uncapped? Respect! -YaMon

I add water
Agreed, and I had added dropdowns and such along with water to moderate my pull with the WA ... totally changed with the Vrod though, and led to the brown ring :/ I only mention because sometimes it backfires. I'm still trying to find optimal glass for the vrod and the draw i desire.

It has to do with the personal pleasure I get out of a long inhalation and a prodigious amount of vapor. It works perfectly on the Hopper — and on the Lotus. But if I draw on the FP that deeply I can get the same amount of vapor — but in half the time and a coughing fit ensues.

One technique I enjoy on the FP is the "continuous draw". Set on 710, I'll start inhaling and when I have a good amount of vapor, exhale some of it through my nose and keep hitting the FP. I can run through a scoop this way without getting so much in my lungs so fast that I have to cough. Fortunately I live in a legal state, grow my own, and have a more than adequate supply on hand. I'll keep experimenting; I like doing this kind of "research".

I like the showerhead with the older carb cap myself as i like a bit of draw restriction, i think it helps with vapor thickness. FP and GH are completely the two extremes on this subject.
With the old heavx cap you can leave the cap just on which is also good as it is preheated.

I also found out (and had to adjust to this as it is uncommon) that controlling my drawspeed is a keyfactor when useing the FP and just drawing as hard as possible does not work satisfying (for me).

Experiment with slow or semi slow draw capped and uncapped if you like. The water piece used plays a big role also.

just my :2c: - :peace:
