Only just `run in` then, I would say you have some plant matter where it shouldn`t be, might be worth a strip down and deep clean seeing it is out of warranty.

I am going to have to do that. It works like a champ, it just stinks upside down. I think it happened around the same time I put chamomile in it. May be the fine grains did some how get into the Plenty. That's why I only should burn Blue Dream from now on. Thanks man.

Well there`s the problem

I never really liked the stainless steel coil, to get the huge clouds and effects, I have to go through water. Without that coil as it is a pain to wield with a bong, I like to leave the Plenty on the bong between hits so no vapor is lost to the chimney effect.

Hello people. I am not very satisfied with my Plenty because it doesnt get to the desired temp and because the dead man switch is incredibly annoying. As my unit is out of warranty I was thinking if I could modify the unit to stay all the time in temp and also to calibrate the thermostat so I can get some more temperature from it (for example the mighty can do this). Could you give me a hint on how to do it??

To get a bit darker ABV I install the orange filling chamber housing by itself first as it will twist on a bit further than if already attached to the black filling chamber cap, this seems to help for me.
As for the dead man switch, I use a rubber band, but if yours does not cycle by itself this way you are SOL

I finally got to do the chamber increase hack (my new scales have arrived. I managed a gram I the normal bowl plus another .22 grams filled in through the top (where the stainless tube connects to the chamber cap) for 1.22 grams total. I then put a screen on top before a 14mm to 18mm GonG.
I had 30 mins on it a 7 on the dial, the clouds were very nice and extra flavoursome through my Mobius sidecar knock off, still no restriction either. I then had to go out for a couple hours before starting another sesh, the first couple tokes did not taste great. but the third was back on track, full and tasty. All up the `mother load' lasted just over 2 hours before vapor was no longer visible, abv was pretty even to boot, nothing wasted, nothing charred, very enjoyable
Next time I might try a bit newer bud (this stuff is about 55-55% humidity) and tamp it in more as this was still close to zero restriction(I should be able to get 1.5 grams in there, surely).

Hi everyone, just wanted to drop in and thank you all for convincing me to purchase a plenty and to try and limit my combustion from daily to special occasion. I've read all the threads, and the time and effort that went into explaining everything is massive. This thread also convinced me to start an account here.

Sadly, a few of the images are gone from a few years ago, especially those of @ChooChooCharlie. If you guys have some images of the screen nippling for the reducer, that would be helpful.

After getting the unit today, and doing a few full bowls and a few half bowl, I went ahead and got the reducing set (built in, thanks for the tips!) with the capsule jawns (and the plunger dealy because I'm a gear nerd). I found the Plenty to hit massively. My friend was over who is a sweetheart, but he just has zero nuance or grace when smoking. He can only rip like he's gasping for his last breath, no matter what. Lately, thanks to too many spliffs, my lung capacity has been shite. Needless to say we approached this beast from different angles, and both got baked out of our domes using about the same amount of product as a king size cone when I roll.

I found the unit to hit hard, a little too hard. For my buddy it was the smoothest thing ever. He's five day cig free. from chiefing a pack in a few hours every night, hiding it from his wife. for me it made me cough. I think this is the perfect unit to get off combustion. I've had an Arizer Extreme Q for a few years, and with the DDave mod it worked alright. I got a Pax 2 and loved it. So did my wife, so she stole it and i got a Pax 3. I shattered my DDave mod and my arizer has collected dust since. Not new to vaping, this is the first time i've had it be too strong! I think it take a little getting used to and i'll laugh at myself in a few days, but to me it hits hard like a dab.

The ABV has been nice, dark, very even brown. This is all thanks to the tips i got reading the forum. I guess I'll try and to save this stuff instead of dump it.

Just to reiterate, this is a great unit, and I get the feeling that the transition into this as my DD will be easier. This is what this vape is meant for, smokers. Maybe my mind will change with the capsule jawns, but the whole microdosing concept is so foreign to me and the desire for this vape. If you are coming from joints and bongs all day, this thing sips by comparison. No, you won't get a spec of product on the end of a pubic hair to last you all month, but you won't be crankily huffing at hot air and quitting the whole vape thing as a lie, either (if you follow the tips, at least ).

This along with the Volcano, and the Honda XR650L, and so many others (Safety razors are trendy again) show that old tech can be damn relevant if you just build it right the first time. Looking forward to learning the intricacies beyond fill and get blasted. Thanks FC, for being such a great community and helping me (hopefully) make the transition from daily combustion.

I would definitely say this constitutes a successful introduction to the Plenty. If you normally smoke this much daily....i'd forget about the reducer and caps. One bowl lasts me three days and I don't bother with either the reducer or the caps.
Also you can moderate how hard the Plenty hits by just taking a "half a hit" and then chasing it with fresh air. Seems to work for me.

Also you can moderate how hard the Plenty hits by just taking a "half a hit" and then chasing it with fresh air. Seems to work for me.

I have the reducer and I have always thought it was the biggest waste of time. I think it takes away from the pureness of the Plenty. Well, at least in my experience. The liquid pad if I want to smoke a little is a way better experience too.

The full ovens are awesome, but sometimes before work... I don't know, I want like a pax oven or two but I don't want to commit a half hour. This has led to me combusting for the last few months. So I think I'll actually get some use out of them. If not, oh well, at least I tried. I'm sure I can move them.

- True words and thank you, I'm about to work on the Plenty again, today was my last day combusting until saturday... so I abused the combustion a bit and the plenty got neglected. Time to get familiar with my new freundin and learn her little loves and hates.

I have the reducer and I have always thought it was the biggest waste of time. I think it takes away from the pureness of the Plenty.

I also have the reducer and I agree. For me.....there is nothing (in my limited experience) that compares with a Plenty and a full oven. Maybe it isn't the most efficient method to conserve herb....but it's not THAT wasteful and I didn't buy a Plenty to micro-dose. It's still conserves more herb than combustion.....and those effortless full vape hits are worth the investment....IMHO.

Remove reducer insert, place standard screen (the fine one doesn't bow out as good) on top and press down in the middle with a finger till it's domed nice. Then place the screen in the top, i like adding a 2. fine screen after putting in the nippled one so the fine screen is bowed down just a little and closes flush with the reducer ring (nippeling alone improves caps performance, the 2. screen makes the reducer usable without caps).
That was the game changer with the reducer for me, it works best filled full without a capsule imo

This godsdamn thing is a machine! just finishing up a dosing cap. I can see why people love them, I can see why people think they are a waste. My thoughts from my experiences is it's like an angry Pax with the dosing jawns. It still hits harder and bigger than it has right to, but it's not the same experience. Flavor was great, but slightly better without the cap (about negligible but I smoke cigars so my palette is negligible, too). Also I bought the plunger tool, because problems. Being in CA I got the stuff next day, well packed. I'll figure out pictures later when I have some time, but I'm really hoping these dosing caps can help replace my morning spliff. So far my biggest complaint has been the fact that this thing has made me want to get some top shelf to see what it's made of.

Are the lids of these caps supposed to sit flush? two in a row are a hair cockeyed on me (using both fingers and tool) but fit fine in the chamber. The lid of the magazine as a loading tool is very slick. I'm an accessories guy and these are sweet. Only a matter of time before I have the full on loading tray and what not if I still like these things.

Grind question; I have the MFLB wooden grinder that grinds really fine. So far I've been using my santa cruz 2 and 4 piece. Does the Plenty benefit from the super fine grind of the other lil guy? seems the little circle jawn fits right on the loading chamber. I've also assumed (and I think read here) that the product should be pretty dry, that's how it's been for all my other vapes. Sorry if i missed this bit, but I don't recall the super fine grinder being mentioned in between the questions of if this thing is a weed hog

Now to try out the second cap, you know, for science!

EDIT: for those who are interested, my capsules have been about .14-.17g, so let's split the dif and say .15g per cap.

I think I understand a little better, so the nipple in the screen is to hold the capsule tighter in place and reduce any air escaping? Apologies, my father was an engineer so I was trained to be inquisitive. Also as for the capless use, any reason you wouldn't just use liquid pads? I only have one or else I'd try it. Lightly buzzed and just looking at the thing.

I do realize that I'm still in my honeymoon phase but I am honestly kicking myself for not buying this instead of the Arizer a few years ago. My local shop had them both in stock and the Plenty was on sale at the time... oh well, maybe I can mod the AEQ to become a bag beast for parties or something. Or donate it to a cancer patient.

I'll wait until I have a good amount of use under my belt to do a more in depth review, but so far my arsenal of Pax 3 and Plenty are making me pretty happy. Now to stop smoking godsdamn spliffs!!!

Capsules are working, so apologies for the highdeas here, but this is a great desktop for those who value discretion in a mancave. I was just messing around with the capsules, and you can easily tuck them underneath sockets. So put a drill, heatgun, plenty, wrench and some sockets (with loaded capsules) in a bag and call it good. Just in case you want a full chamber, too.. fill her up and tuck it in your respirator. Hell, I never told my wife i bought the thing and she thought it was my heatgun...

side note, thinking about grabbing a cheap nectar collector to use for water filtration on this thing. As long as I don't like, cough into it, no reason not to for safety concerns, right? Sorry but this damn thing makes me cough like i'm dabbing. I honestly think it's due to the tobacco, but whatever. Never even held a nectar collector before so pardon me if that's a really dumb question.

I pulled out the S/S coil and leave the clear silicon in place then I jam in a 14mm GonG into the top of the black filling chamber cap. One of these;

Fill up the black filling chamber to the GonG, should get near 1.5 grams all up start at 6 and slowly step up to 7, later in the sesh you will have to wait for the Plenty to hit the top of the heat cycle to get vapor(as soon as the heat LED turns off). My Plenty balances just fine in my Mobius sidecar knock off by itself.

How do you prevent the herb drying out over the 2 hrs

That 2 hours, the only break I had was waiting for the LED click to tell me I was at the top of the heat cycle and ready to suck again.
I sure do take the whole filling chamber off the other times a sesh gets interrupted and pull through the chamber until it cools a bit to stop extra drying out/roasting.

I’ve been enjoying the Plenty since Monday. It is my first vape. I’m going to leave this review for those considering it.
I will preference by saying that I’m an able bodied person with a bit of history with non-tobacco combustion.

I ordered my unit through POTV on 15% off sale (code S&B15), and a reducer. It came in a timley manner with free shipping, a POTV provided quality metal grinder, and small plastic air sealed herb container. The Plenty itself also came with a cheaper looking plastic grinder, brush, screens, extra silicon sleeves for the coil, concentrate pads, and good instructions.

Review:
BUILD:
The Plenty seems pretty solid. There are a few plastic pieces such as the one that holds the chamber or that hold the coil to the unit, that seem a bit flimsy but nothing too bad and are easily replaced. The stock mouthpiece is plastic, not a big deal but I’d like to see it be any other material. My biggest gripe is that the unit cannot Naturally stand vertically like you see it presented. You actually need to rest it on its side, which has caused my herbs to shift significantly from the minor impact//gravity, even when filling a full load. You can use the brush as a kickstand or implement your own, but i’d like to see a better solution.

FUNCTION
Easy to use. Minimal technique needed to load well. Just grind fill per illustrated instructions. I’ve been able to get good even ABV with maybe one or two uses learning curve.

The heating strategy takes a tiny bit to get used to though and can be a bit of a nuisance; I’m sure its saving vapor from getting wasted. The Plenty has a 1-7 dial which correspons to a temp range it will heat the load at per instructions. The Plenty heats to this temps upper bound and then turns off and the temp slowly begins to fall. Pulling the handle will start the heater again once the temp has fallen to a point below some lower bounds, and the process repeats. This means that the Plenty cant really maintain a constant temperature. You will need to wait for half a min or so now and then for the unit to heat back up to a specific temp, even if the handle is continually pressed (ie with a rubberband). It takes a bit to get used too but its not going to add more than 2-3 mins to extracting fairly continuously with a full load which is MASSIVE with this thing. Just make sure everyone watches the temp gague before drawing.

The ~13 dollar reducer is worth it. Even ABV. Easy to swap out. I don’t use the capsules. Cuts the load to an estimated 1/3 -1/4. No change in vapor quality I could detect. I’ll give the reducer a 9/10. The metal surrounding the smaller screen acting as a spacer in the reducer is easy to get herb into and not as easy to get out of. Especially if you arent precise with loading or if you set the unit on its side sometimes and it shifts (seriously, this thing needs feet)

MAINTENANCE
Very minimal. Just brush the screens. Every now and then youll need to clean the airpath which doesnt seem so bad.


VAPOR
Vapor is smooth and tasty and the Plenty has a good temp range (up to 420 f)!

OVERALL
Aside from a few quirks (handle//heating pattern, cant stand upright) the Plenty is a great product especially for the price.

8.8/10. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

The instruction book and earlier posts describe how to stick your cleaning brush into one of the screw holes at the base to be able to stand upright, you will also notice the Plenty has rubber feet on one side for sitting it on it`s side.

You have chosen a big hitter for your first vape, enjoy getting to know it.

Specifically with the reducer i should say. material always ends up outside the screen and into the outer metal rim... maybe i need to pack it all the way to the top of the nip Instead of level with the surrounding metal ring...

As for the temp/handle and on/off switch, I also find this very annoying, probably the biggest issue I have atm
If you have a newer model as I do then we are stuck with the auto off handle and we have to keep an eye on it and remember to hit the switch
If we remember to do so it does not affect the sesh and we do not have to stop while it reheats, just continue to draw as it reheats and gets cooler, I guess it is like getting the full range of flavours while also getting everything out of herb at highest temp all in one Lol
Still I would prefer the constant temp/heat
At the very end of sesh you may need to wait till it is full temp
With this switch it should always be set on 7 as we have the heat up and down between 180 and 230

If have the older one where can hold the handle to temp people use 6 and then 7 later to get those full range of flavours and extraction

The reason people say to use a rubber band or other ways to hold switch on is because the first release of the Plenty had a switch that was only on while you held the handle
So you could bypass the kill switch

I wish they left that system as I believe it gave more user control and exact/permanent temp

Wasn't the nippling of the sceen to keep the load in the reducer from migrating and to also hold the dosing cap in place
About the kill switch, the old Plenty operates in the same fashion as the new ones. It heats to a certain point, heater turns off, then the temp slowly drops down, then can be clicked on again when it drops past a certain temp. The newer models have to have the handle released, then squeezed again to start the next heating session when the unit drops to reset temp.
The older model, when you wrapped a rubber band around it, or just squeezed the handle the whole time, the heater would click back on automatically when it dropped to that certain temp.
The old Plenty would be highly sought after if they really did bypass the turn off thing it does with just a rubber band, and you were able to press and hold it at your desired temp.

I got my Plenty in November last year, it works exactly as you describe. I also use a rubber band so I believe S&B have changed the dead man switch back to how it was originally, thank goodness
