Discontinued The Grasshopper

Hogni

Honi soit qui mal y pense
Yesterday my US courier came along with my new GH Ti.
Scratchless finish, but all the threads are a bit rough and make a light scratchy noise while screwing also the dial is going less smooth than my old SS. Hope it will become better in use by the time

We had a sesh with 3 persons and a water piece.
3 bowls in a row, hit after hit.
And? No blue flickering, no clicking noises while heating, hopper body just got hand warm, no hot backend, even vapour is smoother and cooler if used natively. Nice relation of cloud and flavour at 3.5, cloud city >4.0. ABV is getting just a darker brown at 5.0.
First impression - works awesome! Hope it will last.

I think you misunderstand the saying. You're not squeaking loudly nor often enough. And I'd probably pass on being polite.

Oh, it's been pretty often. LOL. Definitely not loudly. But politely. They said check back in 3 weeks. I waited the 3 weeks. Updated my RMA. Sent an Email. No response.

I'm so happy I chose the Dynavap over the Grasshopper. Didn't know much about either when I pulled the trigger way back in November of '17, but I certainly couldn't have made a better decision if I'd tried.

I now have a whole bunch of vapcaps that I love and a friendly relationship with some of the folks that make 'em. I'd have strangled somebody at Hopper Labs by now.

It has been a pretty frustrating experience to say the least.

Frankly, I went on a trip to San Diego in April, and was hoping to have my hopper then. Nope. I am going on a trip to San Francisco at the end of July. Would like to take the Hopper. Have reservations about taking my Mighty which is a powerhouse. But if I lose the Hopper, who cares at this point. LOL.

But I also don't want to bring it and then have it break in the middle or beginning of my trip. Such a tough choice. And that's even if I get it back before I go away. LOL

Pick up a Dynavap '18 M. $60 it'll work every day all day. All you need is a butane torch. Clean it in some ISO and it can travel with you where ever you go. And if you lose it, it's not like losing your Mighty.

Problem is can't bring a butane torch on an airplane. But that is a good idea, i guess I can always pick up a butane torch out there.

I have a feeling i'll combust with it though

Buy a torch-they're cheap. And 1000's of people use vapcaps every day without combusting. Watch a few videos, and then try a few dry runs without flower to get used to it.

Just respect the click. Which mostly means respect the cool down click before you reheat it. And you'll be amazed at what you can get out of .07g.

I need more squeak on my wheel! I want to open a PayPal dispute for my 5 missing batteries that nobody will respond to me about but I also scooped them @ 35% off so id rather the batteries then a refund. :hmm::rant:

Think about 'squeaking' from their side of the equation. Right now it's easier for them to just ignore you, hope you go away, and they may be okay with a Paypal dispute. They'd win even if they lose as you point out.

So...Your squeaking has to be loud enough that they perceive it as a threat to future business.

If it were me, and I was ignored, god help anyone who ignores me, I would be on every social media site, forum, thread making their life miserable. EVERYONE would know how poorly I was being treated.

Your squeaking is only making you uncomfortable at the moment. Make them uncomfortable. They deserve all the heat they get, and then some. Fuck 'em.

It seemed like they had better communication for a short while there and were even pushing statements out on media. I wonder if there is another turnback in their product or if they are just getting slammed. Really want to get me a hopper down the road once its all sorted out (been saying that for a year now).

Statements like this just amaze me. I just don't get it. What in the world makes anyone think they're ever going to get it sorted out? That old saying "Actions speak louder than words" keeps running through my head. Their actions are inaudible.

Hi folks after reading these pages on and off for a few years and recieving some great advise here a few weeks ago I have somehow decided to ignore it all and get a hopper anyway. I'm going to order a ss on Thursday for a good price(£140 after discounts) I think I'll be fine with one battery for a few months as I will only need it twice a day on my break so it would be medium temps and no water tools.(I have a dabudda at home with a water piece). So I'm hoping to get some hassle free vaping for a while. It's the super fast heat time is what has drawn me in . Can you guys recommend were to get batterys in the UK. I use a soda charger for my 18650 batterys do you guys know if it would be compatible with a hopper battery. Any tips for use and maintenance are appreciated .sorry for the long post

My hopper has been going strong since 2015. Keep it clean fuckcombustioners!
This is great news are there anymore happy folks like yourself

The batteries are proprietary to ghl. If you’re lucky, there will be a reseller near you. I do recommend that you get at least 1, but 2 is better - extra batteries and an external charger. That way you’ll always have 2 fresh batteries!

You may want to visit @Ratchett’s site. His leather case is GREAT and holds the extra batteries. And I think his gh stand is a must have. I love his mini poke and scoop too.

Okay, I’m finished spending your money!

Jeez, man, that's the kind of fuckup that burns me the most. I certainly hope that they let you hold on to the SS until they send the bronze body to you. Idiots.

thanks Joe...but no reply from Hopper yet. I will give them until COB tomorrow then I'm calling in an airstrike on their position. LOL

My grasshopper batteries line up fine in my nitecore...
Me too.

TI will never thread as smoothly as SS. I found this out when I bought stainless PFE's for my TI Hoppers. They turn onto the SS threads of the body like they've been greased.

By "squeaky", I meant emailing them every two to three business days, and sometimes creating entirely new email chains (instead of just replying to the same thread). It's a pain and shouldn't be necessary, but it seems to be effective.

Welp, I just got a nice shot to the nuts. They finally responded. Something about overhauling their customer service so thats why it’s taking time to respond.

Anyhow, unit received by them Feb 2nd. Blue light, then just shuts right off. They told me, check back in a month again. It’s based on the order of parts on which they need.

Anyhow, thats past the time of my San Francisco trip. I honestly hate this vile thing. That’s two west coast trips missed.

Now, do I buy the Dynavap M starter kit, and buy a torch out there, do I just bring my Mighty, do I bring my somewhat busted pax which i don’t even know where it is, or do I just use pens out there. Or dare I say, do I combust? Decisions decisions.

I feel like the Dynavap M I can’t really use it outside with the torch and everything. I just feel like that draws a lot of attention. Correct me if I’m wrong.

If you're looking for something comparable to the mighty or grasshopper a dynavap is definitely not that.

He's not. He's looking for something inexpensive and dependable.

@NewVape420 you're going to be on the West Coast. Smoking weed isn't going to really be a big deal. Be discrete, and don't act skevey or like you're doing anything wrong. Just act normal, find a quite place, and have a good time.
