Paying it Forward - A New Direction

News-
I spoke with @HealthyRips.com and they made the suggestion that I get donations, and then send him the funds when complete.
He has said that for any purchase of a Fury 2 that I can pay for, he
will add a second unit and donate it to the cause. He did limit this to 6 purchases.
He said he is willing to, "match donations" up to 6, and send us 12 Fury 2 units.
I am not asking anyone here to overspend... or to spend funds at all, but I am just passing on a generous offer that has been put on the table.

If anyone does want to pay it forward to a low income, terminally ill, card holding patient, we set up an account solely for the purpose of the Fury 2 project at https://paypal.me/pools/c/82apTAfZZR

My word, that was fast!
I already have 2 FC members to thank for getting the Fury 2 project started.
@Dynavaper, that was a selfless act of kindness of kindness....
and I already have 5 patients on list to be the first recipients.
Some truth:
To be honest.... some days I feel terrible.
I hurt, and get depressed, like anyone.
My past week has been filled with emotional pain.... which triggers spasticity and a deepening of my physical symptoms.
Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel lifted my spirits just now.....
so much so that I will go for a short walk with the dogs and my wife this evening.
Paying it Forward has been my salvation.
I have been blessed.

@hillbill and @thatoneguy445 .... my hats off to you. Thank you!
My hopes rise high today.
I really was not sure this was anything more than a "pipe" dream, but it comes to fruition as I watch.
Cool, already 489 USD collected, 360 USD to go!
Go for it, fuckcombustion.com! I am proud of you guys & gals!:love:

--> Donate here <--
Only 345 USD to go now. It improves by the minute!
While I love the Fury 2's glass accessories, the Fury 2 is dynamite with the standard Mouthpiece, which allows the session a bit more flower in the oven, and a very wide open free draw (without compromising the vapor's thickness).

EDIT:
@Polarbearboy Thanks for moving things along further with your generosity.
1 other kind soul whose forum name I do not know has also kicked in!
I thank you both. the mission is almost done... with only 210 USD to go.

The goal was met...
I sent the full amount to @HealthyRips.com
The units will be shipped on Monday.

A great number of things have happened since I have been here.
thanks goes to @little maggie ...the box of vaporizers, parts, and great glass pieces arrived safgely and is already being mentally assigned... so all goes to largest need.
We have been able to get units out to a couple dozen patients over the month.
I have not reported on the individual stories in a long while...
and I know you enjoyed hearing about some of the more interesting encounters.
The very recent encounters, have been harder for me.
The patients were older than most, and are terminally ill.
My heart tugs at the thought of sharing my perspectives on the individual stories.
My attention, divided by a number of life's tests for weeks on end.
In the end, I saw many smiles, and calls of joy from those that got units.
Can't fake that gratitude.... that humility.
While I have not sat down to tell about the stories... Knowing that we
are paying it forward, helps us face a new day, and take our minds off of our own complications.
Worrying about others is a good tool to avoid self pity.
Actually helping others is a blessing..... Rule from childhood....
"share" .
I still have a few Fury 2s left.
It is a beautiful little unit.
Even after watching videos, and live demos, most declined the extra glass mouthpiece or water adapter.
They liked using the unit self contained.
A couple of the patients had tremors, so with them in particular I understood.
One couple came all the way 103 miles from their home to get the units in person... and ask questions.
That brings out the teacher in me!
Anyway... my apologies for not showing up here for a bit.
Love to all.

Chewy 2 became my favorite grinder.
I recently worked with a patient, with severe Arthritis.
Both hands gnarled into disfigured fists... due to numerous surgeries and "fusings".
He has had 11 different bones in joints and knuckles fused together.
Fusing the bones together is a way to prevent further deformation.
He used a krups coffee grinder, but his bud always came out as dust, making it difficult to vape in the wrong units.
There was really no choice here.
I had to give him my Chewy 2.
I saw him giggle like a kid that just learned that the remote control opens a neighbors garage door.
He has had it for a week, and he has called 7 times to tell me what he has prepared for vaping in his Chewy 2.
@Splat your creation just landed in the truly right hands!

The Fury 2 project went well, and 12 local patients with chronic or terminal conditions now have a Fury 2.
I can not say enough about the Fury 2.
They now have Capsules of SS screen, with caps.
I received a number of them.
I have given one Cerebral Palsy patient with a caregiver a few of the caps I received.
His brother fills them for him, and stops by at night to empty them and refill for next morning.
They tell me it has changed the healthy brothers time spent trying to help, and the patient says he loves the independence.
Again, I get to sleep well tonight!

Hi, do you have a wish list of things you need or common things that you always need for donations?

Hi, do you have a wish list of things you need or common things that you always need for donations?

The "wish list" varies with the most recent "Most Functional" and affordable vape.
At this time, I can say we seek;
  1. Solo Batteries
  2. Fury 2 units
  3. Fury 2 Accessories (replacement parts)
  4. Used Solos
  5. VaporGenies
  6. any used units that are "out of favor" with owners
  7. Any used, or unwanted desktops
  8. a couple "log vape" transformers (Transformers) <link
  9. Newport Butane
We have been getting vapes and their components out at an even pace, so we are sort of 'in synch" with units Vs. Consumable parts.
We always need Da Buddha and SSV tubing and wands.
Any parts no longer needed can be paired with what we already have.
The community here has the widest variety of vaporizers that I could imagine among a low income community.
This makes me very humble, and happy!
Thanks, @arthritisbites for asking!!

Some thanks are in order, for some immediate help for the community.
Stories of some recent adventures still to come... as some have been complex and are still unfolding.
A thanks to @OF for sharing with me a brilliant invention of a Fury 2 Capsule filling tool, that is VERY impressive. I might even say foolproof!
Thanks.... because of his discussions with @HealthyRips.com , we have been donated 4 more units.
Much love to OF.... you have been a wonderful source of communication, and encouragement in getting things done for patients miles away!
Thank you Healthy Rips team......
you folks and your working with others to bring this together, has made miracles happen.
Each patient that has gotten a Fury 2 has told me they use it almost exclusively.
One of them offered to donate his Vapor Brothers Box back to me to give to another patient.
I told him that a patient would do well to keep a backup.... especially a desktop
He agreed, and admitted that getting a nice tight unit like the Fury 2 had made him feel guilty for owning two units.
Everyone should own two... one that plugs in, and one for the road.
Thank you for reading....more to come.

Yer welcome for the tools, of course, hopefully you can get a few into end user's hands for more testing. I think you're off, they're far from foolproof, you just don't have good enough fools there? If you need a few hints on how to do it, PM me and I'll give you a few......

I'm only partially responsible for the four units, the big player here is Healthy Rips for sure. I got into it too late to jump on the '2 for 1' deal where they matched donations to your efforts unit for unit earlier this year. HR volunteered to match my pair! How cool is that? No guarantee they will do that next time, of course, but it shows they are truly interested in 'the community' you serve so well. They had my money with no strings, they could just as easily sold those units.......

I don't know about the rest of the Members but it makes me feel 'mighty good' to give my business to such folks. First rate people there, it was refreshing discussing your cause, life in general and helping others with them in the process. The world could sure use more like them.

IMO they have 'the best vape for the job' you do at this point. And low cost to boot? And with a policy of supporting your efforts in such an assertive way? It doesn't get much better than that I'm thinking.

The project of keeping you supplied with the tools needed to do your job marches on, as it should.

Thanks for the feedback, o' Sage of the High Desert. Please keep up the good work. It really really matters.........

Regards to all.

Hi All, To be fair - it was @OF who initiated this generous offer and we were able to get @Vitolo four more FURY 2 units to the patients he works with. So good!

On another note - we have our dosing capsules back in stock and available for immediate purchase on our website: https://www.healthyrips.com. We now offer a dosing case tube along with the capsules - thanks to the people posting their awesome ideas here.

We also have some basic video footage of our upcoming FIERCE that we will be posting in a few days on the FIERCE thread.

Have an amazing week!

You all know Rick... creator of the MyrtleZap, AromaZap, and RockZap.
Over 100 low-income Arizona patients received Zap Vaporizers. Rick was the Man who created the Arizona Medical RockZaps and made this possible. His family is now facing an emergency. They are in a tight spot... his grandson will be blind for life. I am directing this post to a GoFundMe page that will explain everything. Please look at the page, and the video at https://www.gofundme.com/jade-harlow-recovery-family-fund
Thank you for reading.

What a terrible accident Vito, and an awful situation.
Thanks for the heads-up.

I have made a small donation, and am making a one-off VapCap stash to auction off (proceeds to Jades Gofundme).

It's a work in progress, but I will post here soon when I have finished it and started an appropriate thread.

@OF... you did it again!
Thanks to you, today's mission is driving around, and delivering dosing capsules that I just received
@HealthyRips.com generously matched the order, so there are easily enough to go around to the current Fury2 owners. One will be given 2 sets, to get him through the odd days, when no caregiver comes to help with his needs.
An anonymous donation of new unused Log Vape stems (P.D. and Tulip) have gone out and helped an arthritic patient that never maintained or cleaned his stems, and they wound up after a couple of years, unsalvageable...
Thank you (you know who you are)
@arthritisbites sent in a cash donation that allowed the following to happen:
The funds you sent went to help 3 patients.
All 3 use wax pens, and all 3 had dead atomizers.
I was able to get a half dozen atomizers from China (Yocan products), and now the 3 are starting fresh, with working pens, and each a spare atomizer.
One of the 3 patients was given a new charger as well.
I appreciate you.
@Baron23 ... the Brand New "Wing" vaporizer by ElmandOwl that you generously donated has landed in the hands of the cutest little Senior Citizen that is in Chemotherapy.
She loves the side attachment to carry her meds, and she feels very much like 007 as she leaves Chemo Sessions, and with dramatic flair takes it apart and loads up!
I get behind in catching you up sometimes...
but I do not let moss grow under my feet... so I stay busy... and that combined with a Traumatic Brain Injury sometimes gets me a bit behind!
I am growing more forgetful day by day.

Brand new Flowermate Aura arrived as an anonymous donation.
It has already been placed in the hands of a PTSD patient a couple of days ago. He reports great satisfaction with the unit.
Beautiful water piece also arrived, and it got placed that same night.... Thanks to the donor, who prefers anonymity.
That is pure!
You are all in our prayers!
@OF the new design for the Fury 2 Capsule Loading tool is magnificent.
@All FC members.... Thanks for the continued support.
@Our Maker .... you have blessed us with the strength to pay it forward, and watch over our patients.
WE would be nowhere without the faith and strength.

We will see if there was a smile.....

I promised I would let you know how it went.
His girlfriend drove him here...
After the visit he brought in his 3 year old son to meet us.
We hugged and talked, and Patty loaded him down with vegetables.
He kept calm composure as we asked after his health.
His lips quivered a bit as he said.... "It was just the roll of the dice, that I am the one... I will be OK, and if it is my time then that's how it is"
I have been given his permission to post his image, to show how happy he was with his new tool.
First he tried mine, for the intended purpose of being shown a new device:
DSC04503.jpg

Then he was handed a new box (already charged for him) and told it was his:
DSC04504.jpg

Patty and I both get to sleep a little easier tonight, knowing that this young man is wearing that smile.
Sometimes a smile is all you need.
I will rest assured that he is in a more comfortable state this evening.
2 Years later, and I got to see and help Andre again.
This time he left here with a Second Torch (his finally fried) and an Evolve Plus.
For flowers, he also left with a Mistvape Bare Essence donated by @mistvaporizer , and a well used but very functional Flowermate with a wooden stem by @Ed's TnT .
We covered all of his bases...
I am glad for that.
Andre has 2 children now, and he is in desperately in need of a bone marrow transplant.
His mom was going to do it, but the doctors won't allow this due to her age.
His oldest son can not donate, due to incompatibility.
His baby son can not do this, until they learn if he also carries the Neutropinia gene.
Insurance will not pay for testing on non family members (I know.. Patty and I both discussed doing this) but
The Bone Marrow Testing is very a costly procedure, which insurance has refused to pay for with non family members.
At least we got to spend time with Andre again... he is about 25 pounds thinner than you see him in the post above.
Our ability to give him extra tools to medicate is thanks to all of you.
I want every patient to have at least one tool, but variety makes a patient feel "well to do"....
and that is what we want for each of them.
Knowing that you are poor is weakening to the soul.
Feeling like the financial end does not matter is empowering.
Others have received vaporizers over the last months... they especially loved getting the Fury 2 units.
Andre was important to talk about today, as he was one of our first patients, when the laws here changed.
Love and Light to all of you!
Thanks for reading.

Once again, an anonymous donor has made a purchase from @HealthyRips.com of 4 new Fury 2 sets, to which @HealthyRips.com has matched the donation to make it a total of 8 new units. Eight dosing Capsule sets were included in the deal, and our good friend @OF has begun on a new set of Loading tools to make the set-up complete.
I thank all involved from the bottom of my heart.
Today the units arrived, and already I have met with a young woman that was in need and I set her up.
She was elated, and has contacted us 3 times since she got her unit (after the appropriate 2 hour first charge) to express gratitude, and to tell how impressed she was with the unit.)

I stayed busy for one solid week.
I visited, and met with patients.
I still have used functioning vapes that I will get out there as I can... but I did want to report on the Fury 2 units I received.
At this time all 8 units are in homes.
All have dosing capsules.
3 of these card holding patients are Terminally Ill.
1 of them is already in Hospice Care.
The other 4 units went to low income chronically ill Senior citizens.
I had enough loading tools made by our own @OF to give to all but 1 of the patients, but they did get one of @OF 's original loading tool with wooden dowel to make use of... a patient with better dexterity, and less need of the tool.
Today I am to check in with 3 of these patients to see how they have progressed, and I then go to teach one patient the dismantling for proper cleaning of the native mouthpiece.
The local MMJ Doctors still send me names, and the work is not done, but a HUGE bite was taken out of our list this week.
I bow humbly with admiration and respect to those who armed our quiver with arrows to fight off the lack of comfort among patients that are not going to improve... and that live in poverty.
Great thanks and love to all of you.

I got a package today from @HerbieVonVapster and @anonymousfriend , and it is not your usual tool!
I received a Splinter Z and a "lost vape" Paranormal Box Mod.
It is not your everyday donation that I place with patients....
It is a great on demand vapor situation, that I will use until just the right patient comes along.
A most interesting tool.
@ghostvapesofficial is a recent Forum member.
I am happy to announce that Ghost vapes, has decided to offer a trade in program, for those wishing upgrades as the become available. They will be refurbishing the returned units, and sending them to us for placement with Low income patients and disabled vets.
A collaboration that will benefit many!
