Vapman

Last week I experimented everyday with the Vapman. To use a music analogy: I feel a bit like a young son that tells his dad he finally understands and enjoys jazz music, and that the father thinks proud with a little smile: 'told you it's good...'

After experimenting with different heating techniques I experienced the following:

- A full pan results in a session with really great taste that lasts until the end of the session and I experience not any harshness and/or hot vapor at all.
My tolerance is so low that I can only finish the bowl in three sessions. Between those sessions I keep the herbs in a AVB container.

- The concentrate screen reduces the pan size and is very practical for microdosing. Maybe it's still my heating technique, but sometimes the vapor is a bit harsh with the screen. I can finish the bowl in one session...and sleep very well after that bowl

To conclude the post: I already was enthousiastic about the Vapman, but I
finally experience how good the Vapman is, and get now why many of you are so happy with it. All this experimentation resulted in a bad case of VAS: I want to buy a classic model as a back-up so the basic pear one has some company.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

My father introduced me to progressive rock music when I was young. I loved Yes and could appreciate a bit of the ol' Genesis when Peter Gabriel was still in the group, but other than those bands it was not my favourite genre. After my twentieth birthday I started to appreciate the older progressive rock bands more and more and now I'm looking forward to visit concerts with my dad. Next week we're going to see Camel:

Congratulations, but IMO you, the user, deserve a lot/most of the credit. You control the loading and heating, the mistakes are all yours to make. It takes skill and understanding (and experience) to get consistent good results.

Getting 'just a couple more' is completely understandable, and proves you're taking this seriously.

Thanks for the great post, even if I'm not a jazz fan. Good to know good people are still.

Don't expect the accuracy of swiss trains for german trains, same for bureaucracy...
My family got a letter of the bureau for weapons about a missing weapon registered to my grandpa - 8 years after he died :whoa:, turned out it was laying in a museum for 30 years
But in hindsight there are some poor beings somewhere in a bureau doing the same s day by day and the pile still keeps growing - imagine after cutting that piece of yew, there would be laying 2 more, after cutting those 3 more etc - how long would it take to suck?
Ok bad example, probably till the last yew tree is cut
Heads up, and keep poking those 'sleeping bureaucracy beautys' ;)

I've been spending the last few weeks with my new Fury 2. You know how it is, you get a new vape and in the excitement none of the others get to see daylight for a while. So it was time to take out the VM and remind myself why I love it so much. It didn't take long, in fact just popping open the egg already made me remember how well thought out this product is from vape to case. I do truly love the Fury 2 for many reasons. It performs exactly as I needed it to for stealth and portability and functions beautifully. However, there is alway something special about using the VM. The Fury or Grasshopper are simply for stealth , speed, and general on the go vaping. The VM on the other hand is something I like to take my time, sit and relax while admiring its beauty and design. That is what evokes a more intimate connection to this little marvel that keeps it at the top of my list. Now excuse me while I go get my Vapman...

Hello all! I'm in the market for a new vape after my arizer solo flipping broke 2 months after purchase, it is being replaced under warranty but obviously now I don't trust that it wont eventually break again.

I'm thinking a walnut basic will serve me well! I keep reading on here about charring on the vapman but all the photos I can find are looking pretty pristine to me. Does anyone have a photo of a vapman that has had a year or so use or something?

I'm heavily leaning towards getting one of these, it's between this and the vaponic but I'm pretty certain I will burn myself or something else with the vaponic :D I'm about 85% certain that I am going with the vapman.

Have a good day everyone!

My vapman works as good as day one and I probably only do a deep clean around once a year! I use this vapman almost everyday and its by far my favorite vape I have ever owner or tried. My solo 2 would be next after the vapman for most use and enjoyable experience.

Btw I'm sure that Solo will treat you great it really is tank and has lasted people many years.

Here are a couple pics of my "scorched" Vapman. I believe by torching it black I may have sped up the whole Charring process. But the charring has not spread anymore. In fact it is my understanding that the "charred" area now acts as an insulator.
The pics below are from 2014. It still pretty much looks the same today and Vapes as good as the day I got it.

Don't have anything of importance to add to this thread, except, if anyone wants to know, I still love my Vapman. I share similar feelings like @VapeKnight, I have many vaporizers in my rotation, but Vapman has its own special place. For me, Vapman doesn't hit the hardest and it doesn't have the best taste, but there is that special feeling I get when I'm using it that I can't really describe (probably that magic everyone is talking about). I mostly use it on special occasions and at times I want to reward myself, but a few days ago we went outside, into nature, and Vapman was truly a great companion.

I now understand why so many people, if they have to choose only one vaporizer, would choose Vapman to be that ONE.

Marvelous vape.

I am a week in with using my walnut vapman exclusively. Predictably, I am totally in love with this thing. Without a doubt it is my favourite vape! The learning curve is fun, every day I am excited to use it (several times haha). At first I think I had the jet flame to large, I did push it to the verge of combustion a couple of times the first day just so that I know how much it takes. I have the jet flame set to as low as possible now and I find that if you heat in 4/5 second bursts there is no way it will get close to combustion.

I have quite extensive charring inside around the golden bowl but I kind of sped that process up on purpose, the first few days small wisps of smoke would come out after heating but that has totally settled down now.

I thought that my dynavap was going to be the most efficient vape of all time until I got one of these things! It's amazing, almost magic how little you need to put in the vapman! I enjoy slowly extracting the goodness and knowing I am making the most out of my weed.

I don't think I have mastered the draw speed yet, I can't ever decide between being really gentle or sucking on it like a pipe.

My only regret is that I wish I had also ordered a wooden mouth piece!

We just enjoyed our Vapman or even Vapmen silently... ;)
But you are right, this thread does not reflect how many people love their Vapman, at least not by current activity. What's up René? Everything alright with the export trouble in the meantime?

Hey guys

I am still hanging in there and I am fine, thanks for asking!

On the 2nd of May, 11 weeks after the request, we finally received the email shown below from the justice department of European affairs. It says that we are now registered in the state of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany. I don't even know if this registration is valid for the whole of Germany or just for
the mentioned state only. After reading the paragraphs of the new tobacco law, I understand, that we have to modify our website and implement an age verification system plus registration in Switzerland as well.
Fact is, we still can sell to all end users in all European countries with the exception of Germany and Austria. My maine question is: how much will the full registration and modifications cost and is it really worth it as the business with vapman is a really difficult one as it is already?

I am not sure why it is so difficult with vapman. Is vapman too expensive, is the usage too difficult for most people, are torch driven vaporizers a niche and stay a niche? Having still these questions after 13 years on the market, it may be time to quit and face the fact, that vapman may be a great vaporizer for some folks but will never be big enough to make a decent living from it. May be, if vapman would be an invention from California with a huge market at its feet, the story would be a different one?

In the mean time I finished the mini saw mill and it is working really well! I will post a short video as soon it is ready!

Kind regards to everyone!

Great to hear about your sawmill, and I'm looking forward to seeing it, and eventually what you produce with it!

It's saddening that VM is proving a difficult business to make a living from.
It seems far too common for folk who are artists (and by artists I mean ALL the arts, craftsmen, sculptors, painters, musicians etc etc) to struggle to make any kind of living.
I have an arts degree, and know quite a few artists, but virtually none that make their entire income from their creative work.
All but two that come to mind are merely supplementing their 'normal' jobs with meagre arts based income.

Despite graduating in the early 90's I have yet to make a living solely from art (apart from working in stained glass restoration for 5 years, but that wasn't 'my' discipline, and I just worked for studios owned by others).
I'd love it if there were more folk who valued, and could afford artisan vapes such as the VM.
This vape is totally unique, and an excellent vape to boot, it deserves an audience large enough to sustain it's creator FFS!
Especially after 13 years of operation! !

The added hurdles imposed by prohibition are a real bastard, and I'm sympathetic to your fatigue with them, all you want to do is make and sell a vape FFS!
That shouldn't be controversial or difficult

I hope that VM continues René, (perhaps the paperwork will prove less expensive than you fear?) and that you stay happy making them, but I'm also glad that you are going to be making furniture too (remember to post your work here too!), perhaps you'll find a better profit margin, and less bureaucracy there?

To anyone passing by this thread who doesn't own a VM, GET ONE, you deserve it, René deserves it, and your HERB deserves it!
Seriously, I have a vape collection that far surpasses sensible for my income, and I'm lucky enough to own a host of 'top flight' vapes, but the VM is NOT one that I would part with, I love it.

To those with mass produced plastic vapes:
If you think you love your assembly-line vape, wait until you feel the warm glow of owning, and operating a hand crafted real wood VapMan, it really is a special journey.
:o>>:leaf:>:whoa:>

Keep at it René!
And whatever you're working on, REMEMBER TO SHOW US!

Love my vapman, the photo doesn't do justice to its beauty:

2dbukhf.jpg

I used it thirty minutes ago with some flower (not the ones in the picture..) and reduced the bowl size with the concentrate screen. It's such a pleasant experience to take the time with the Vapman and slowly extract the goodies. When there's some financial room I'm going to buy the Vapman classic, just because it gives me peace of mind to know I'll have a "wingvapman".

What's the best use of the Vapman? I've heard it shall work great with hash? Honestly I don't have one up to now. I came to the thread bc of Rene's legal issues only.

It works great with both hash and flower
