Fog by X-Vape

The Fury 2 dosing capsules work with the Fog. I don't have any pics, but I've been using these in the Fog for a few days. I have been really impressed with how well these work in the Fog. Coming from a Boundless CF with EZ-Load Bowls, I like the Fury dosing capsules better. Smaller and these travel better pre-packed.

https://www.healthyrips.com/store/p45/FURY_2:_Set_of_5_Dosing_Capsules.html

Healthy Rips says these are 11mm tall x 10mm wide. The Fog chamber, based on my caliper measurements, is 11.6-11.7mm wide. I couldn't really measure the depth, but the capsules have a little bit of room to move up and down when you shake the fog. There is plenty of clearance between the silicon wrapped filter and the capsules.

My only complaint is the capsules are difficult to handle due to the small size. I see why Storz and Bickle sell the loading trays with the Might and Crafty capsules. I don't believe the Mighty/Crafty capsules will fit in the Fog based on the measurements I have seen in some reviews of those capsules. Appear too wide.

The Fury dosing capsules also fit in most key chain pill capsules too. A pill capsule like this will hold 3-4 Fury dosing capsules.

I was also in on the discussion concerning the powder. I ended up keeping the Fog I ordered. I have not seen any powder through the grill slits. I have not taken it apart though.

Lot of thanks mate; I am going to order right now. Definitely for me this is the perfect vaporicer. Thanks again.:):)

It only affects the old models, you should be good. Think they are woking on a capsule for the fog and starry as we speak. Cheers!

Anyone had this kind of issue? What it can be, broken heater, blown up transistor or controller problem?

(people in comments describe same issue)

Just choosing between Fog, Starry, FM v5 Nano and don't want it to be dead after couple of weeks...

I opened my device several times. After the first reassembly my button didn't work well anymore. I tried to fix this by opening again without luck. After the third assembly I had the same defect (automatic switch off after some seconds / no heating).
My fog didn't look so well after my tries of fixing so I threw it away instead of claiming it.

Sounds bad... Maybe static charge killed controller, just broken wire that can be easily fixed or even short circuit of temperature sensor on metal surface (dunno where it placed) in this case it's resistance will be zero and controller thinks that temperature is very high (400+C if common NTC thermistor used) so it doesn't turn on heater and shuts down (if it has feature like this to evade overheat). Can you check wires and sensor when will have time?

Got this issue once and, in my case, it was only due to a dirty battery bottom

So... I Just got one of these... are people still using theirs? I was trying to see how I could acheive more of a roast, but seeing these white powder posts seem slightly concerning... is this something that can be easily checked for?

I've had mine for a couple weeks (ordered from PIU) and have not noticed any white powder in the air vents or anywhere else. Then again I didn't open up my unit like others.

is this something that can be easily checked for?
for an 'indication' (won't see the intake itself direct):
Remove 18650!, than the top lid (2screws). The sealing black silicone ring (look also here for white stuff) sits loose on top the chamber and insulation. The insulation is surrounded with another thin black plastic tube - both can be pulled out with some tweezers. Knock a bit against the insulation to see...
At least that worked with the old version and should be fairly save to do, so far nobody knows how the 'improved' version looks / what has been changed (remember the first boundless tera fix....)
Never got any response from xvape, the retailer also ducked and covered away (lesson go with trusted not the cheapest) - in the end a good cure for VAS to me ('only' picked up a VG Coil since)

not noticed any white powder in the air vents
i also haven't seen that, the dust won't travel against the flow direction (or it must be really bad) - that's in a way like looking for exhaust of a car at the air intake ;)

Finally got my Fog from PuffItUp, I didn't disassemble it but they told it's new version with safe insulation material. Also it's great for microdosing:

I'm really satisfied with extraction strength at max temp (220 C), it's almost the same as in VapCap M when heating cap's bottom with single torch (in VapCap AVB is a bit more dark almost black, I think it hits close to 230 C). Battery is ok, 11-12 4min sessions at max temp, if it would be my only vape I'd buy couple spare batteries and good charger for them. Only issue is mouthpiece becomes a bit hot when you make really long draws, but there are short silicon tube pieces to avoid this. I bought VapCap for home usage and Fog for stealthy city walkouts - it's definitely great combo. To be honest, at home I prefer VapCap most of the time because of the easy of use (heat 20-50 sec until click -> make long slow draw until another click), but sometimes when I'm already too high to hassle with lighter (definitely gonna make induction heater in some time) I grab Fog and it keeps me medicated.

After to read your post I tried your tek using a basket screen and yes it's perfect for microdosing!

Still use my Fog a lot, especially actually cause I'm so busy for now I rarely power on my desktops vapes.

I don't understand why this vape is not more popular in FC, it's a game changer for me. Nearly 100% convection, just a hint of conduction to help to get all the goodies extracted in a short amount of time... if needed. And so simple, small and stealth! I would like to name it as one of the clever vapes in the market... without to mention the low price tag.

Maybe not the end of my vas... but I'm seeing the light...

Did xvape close their site down? I'm a little concerned buying a vape that I can't find the companies online presence for....

I've just been reading about this issue with xvape fog. I've had mine for about 18 months and haven't heard of these problems until now. The fact that you were given a new unit and assured that the potentially hazardous issues aren't present is very worrying. I've looked into the vents on mine and can see white dust but I'm.not sure if that's dust that has made its way into the unit as opposed to dust from the unit. I think I'm going to stop using the fog. Seems too much risk to continue without knowing it's safe.

I've been thinking of buying the Davinci Miqro when it's released in the UK but have struggled with justifying it as I've got a small portable session vape in the fog .looks like I've just got a decent enough reason to buy another toy! I vape as a healthy alternative to smoking so the last thing I need is to be inhaling hazardous material from the vape.

Does anybody have an e-mail adress for aftersales services at Xvape?
Can't find them online...

My Fog stopped working yesterday...
All Leds behave normaly , but the unit is not heating enough to reach vape temperature anymore, even at highest setting...
Little disapointed since I only used it for about 20 bowls and only at home.

I bought it to an amazon seller in europe in april, and he advised me to make a return via amazon but the option is disabled. I'm new to amazon tho , so I might miss some basic logic to get what i want.

I really hope I can get a replacement unit since I really liked the simplicity and efficiency of this vape... it would be a shame to spoil it with a poor reliability and customer service.

I will also invest in a DaVinci Miqro if things don't go well for the replacement...

@XVAPE USA @XVAPE-Tony or anyone listening in, do you have serial numbers of all the units affected by the insulation leaking issue? I've got a recently purchased unit that I don't really want to take bits off it to find out, cheers!
Topgreen threw in a Fog in the review package. First thing i did is to take, the top lid off. The one of the screws was bitching and i had to use some force which resulted in some particles from the thread socket. That is not good so i advise anyone to not open theirs cause removing the screws present alu particles hazard for itself.
There is no white dust what so ever. Some of the metal particles appeared white/shiny but nothing like the dusty insulation of the starry. Btw first place i saw this dusty insulation it was the T-vape. It looked almost purple, nothing like that here anyway. I will do some empty inhalations trough a black cloth, and vaccum the airhose trough a black cloth and see if there will be any particles at all ..Sofar the only thing i am not liking is how there is exposed silicon ring in the airpath, something with a screw a-la-flowermate would be tons better.
If anyone wants to check his for particles just do empty chamber draws trough a black t-shirt and you will see if there are any of those white particles,no need to dissasemble the vape.

The old insulation was black/grey - https://imgur.com/a/mBq5GqX
snipping with the finger against it was enough to see dust...
Maybe give the insulation a few hours in the oven at 200c.
Is the insulation now sealed feom the airpath at the bottom side?
