As much as I want to XL'ize my M, I can't stand the way that little faux mp on the M looks when assembled. Overall I really don't care for that little nub, would look a lot classier if it was straight like the uni's. I don't mind the extra weight of the stem, I love the SS tip but that nub.......:\

Good suggestion...think you might convince DV to make us a XL M18? :) Won’t hurt to try......

If I recall correctly you said you've never combusted?

That's right, I never have. Once, I had thought that I had combusted but it was just very dark ABV and no burnt combustion taste.

I am a cautious heater. That doesn't mean that I never go to high temps. It means that I tread softly. I never "torch" my caps. When I compare my caps that are several years old now compared to some who have had theirs for just months, the difference is apparent. My caps have a bronze patina vs something that came out of a BBQ pit inferno.

I use the Sip and Dip technique now but I used to heat click to click. Others have reported reheating prematurely thinking that they missed the cool down click, overheating and combusting. I errored at the other end of the spectrum. I would get lost in what I was doing and forget that the cap had clicked, so when I was learning I heated most often from cold rather reheating while still hot.

I believe any newbie starting out should use a quad jet lighter, set at the lowest setting, blue inner flames just picking the cap, until they have sorted out the best technique suited to them. Single jets are awesome IMO but they require a more refined technique.

Bring on the MXL from DV. I would buy a few in a heart beat.

Hi FC !

After almost a month of absence in the forum for holidays:cool:, I returned to my country and wanted to share that my Vapcap continues adding places to share their steam  !!

I do not think I can catch up, this thread runs more than the roadrunner :o!!

Got my blue omni and it's bueatiful - but the cap is way too loose. It falls off if the omni is tilted even slightly down.

This is the seconed fitting issue I've had with vapcaps. The last TI top I got is too loose on the body, I got some response from Dynavap when that happened but it never got resolved. Luckily my old cap still works and fits fine so it's kind of a non-issue this time, but the loose parts make me wonder about tolerances and quality control.

I just got my M 2018...

What I like:
Overall aesthetics and handling
Vapor production
It works perfectly with non-ground nugs (the best thing about it! <3)

What concerns me:
The draw resistance!!! It's extreme. Unsustainable. I am supposed to close the shotgun, right? Puffing works but just plain drawing is very strenuous on the lungs! Is it supposed to be that way?

Fucking Combustion (mostly) Since February 2017
I mouth-pull sometimes. You just have to stack mouth-pulls together if you want good solid hits. I can generally get 3 to 5 mouth-pulls at least before I have to finish inhaling to clear my throat.

Some may be able to stack a denser vapor in their lungs per full draw that way, as opposed to direct-to-lung draws.

I vary my drawing technique depending on my form of the day:

a) Carb closed, up to 5 short mouth pulls until the click, high draw resistance
b) Carb feathered, direct pull to the lung, medium draw resistance
c) Carb fully open, direct slow/medium pull to the lung until it feels close to uncomfortable, short stop, eventually going on until the click or just leaving it there, low (nearly zero) draw resistance

All three techniques get me equally high/stoned. The only difference is the visible vapor production for which I care less and less since my combustion days are over. With a XL Vapcap, variation C is my favorite one. I tend to prefer variation A with the regular sized Vapcaps, but that’s just me.

Another thing that helps a lot with draw resistance is NOT to pack the tip too tight. Better don't "pack" it at all. Leave it fluffy inside and dare not to fill it to the rim. It still perfoms great (if not better).

Tips falling out of bodies is known, there are a few reasons why this might happen some that can be fixed... But having a new dynavap arrive like this is obviously NOT OK.
Contact dynavap again. They will make it right. They've been struggling to keep up with customer service for the past month or so, but it seems like they may have recently added staff to that department, so try again. I just had a super quick response to an order issue, where as my previous couple of emails went unanswered for a week+.

The cap you recieved is almost 100% likely the right size. Just give it a slight squeeze at the open end to make it slightly less round and it will stay on. This is how it is supposed to work, DV have a video about it in their YouTube portfolio..

What is the best type of magnet for holding the vapcap, axial or diametrically magnetized magnets?
Diametrical ones will hold the magnet centered, axial will hold it off from center. Central over the edge of the magnet.

The 'shotgun' as you call it, is not a shotgun like the in a bong. It is an air intake that let's you adjust the airflow ratio between air coming straight through your herb and fresh air coming in through the carb (carburetor) hole.
People typically talk of stronger, denser hits with the carb closed, but i have always found the stronger more vapour full hits to happen with the carb hole fully open.
With the carb full closed, i have to mouthpull (like toking a fag/joint) to get any real vapour.

Same here! I have been a large fan of the perma-closed carb, but then I spent a whole evening with a Vapcap experimenting with the open carb and my drawing technique and came to the point which makes me prefer the open carb for (personally) best results without irritations.

My friend Moose and I are secluded in a small 4 bedroom cottage on Nausett Heights on Cape Cod. Only place on
Continental US where a foreign submarine shot and sunk a tugboat and its four barges. :mental:

Ha-ha. All survived.
