Hi

Firstly, hi to all, have lurked a bit and had some good info when looking at a vape for bud, ended up with a davinci iq which i've been very happy with.
I would like to be able to vape thumb/scissor hash from cropping, also dust from the botom of storage jars, screened kif and oily residues from the iq.
I'd like something small and portable, pref usb charged and under £100.
Your recommendations would be very much appreciated, cheers...

good question (and not easy...)

The only Vapes i know and tried which shine with solids are butane powered. Vapcap and Vapman are really nice but not what you describe.

Others will chime in and have much greater knowledge than me :-)

Butane may well be an option, was just thinking about keeping it going out and about. Can bung a can of gas in the wagon...

Get a Vapcap and a world of heating options become available to you. Butane lighters are cheap and small ones will pair nicely with it. Single jet lighters will take about 15 seconds to heat the cap, a quad 5 seconds or less and the double and triple somewhere inbetween. You heat The Vapcap for a few seconds, stop heating then toke. From loading the Vapcap, through a few heating cycles, toking and dumping your load takes all of a minute. It's a wonderful efficient device.

Other heating options are bic lighters (wind sensitive and your fingers will get hot), candle ( great for lounging at home), stove element (for when you've lost your lighter), campfire stick (for the nature experience), solar heaters (for true off grid, no access to society and butane stores), Induction Heater (for the ultimate home or out and about option). The Vapcap will outlive any old fashioned battery operated vaporizer and will rid you from the drudgery of being tethered to an outlet for charging batteries, replacing batteries, managing batteries and juggling and untangling cords.

I would like to be able to vape thumb/scissor hash from cropping, also dust from the botom of storage jars, screened kif and oily residues from the iq.
Vapcaps are fantastic vaporizers for dry bud, hash, kief and concentrates like rosin, wax and shatter.

I love to use my Vapcap for a daytime sativa concentrate for an out and about all day sipper.

Dynavap offers several models to choose from, from the all stainless steel M to the intermediate titainium tipped models to the top of the line titanium Omnivap with tightly milled precision and dialed in airflow control. They range in price from $60 to $215.

Vapcaps have a modular build that allows you to mix and match the components for a uniquely yours vaporizer. A stoners LEGO paradise. VonG midsections mate with 14mms water pieces.

This is a question I’ve been searching all over for also. I just started pressing my own rosin, but from what I hear, homemade rosin really gunks up coils.

I thought the vapcap was just for flower. How would one use rosin in it?

And who makes the flowerpot?

Thanks!!!

Nice, thanks! Although, that begs the question, if the rosin doesn’t actually touch the coils, couldn’t one use ANY coil based rig?

The flowerpot doesn’t look super portable. Is there a portable version you would recommend to go along with it?

(Edited the previous post also, was supposed to say vapcap)

So any portable rig will work well with homemade rosin? Man have I been fed some misinformation. Lol. Thanks again!

No. What @steama suggested was a legit e-nail with a proper concentrate dish and carb cap, not a coil based wax pen atomizer. Wax pen coils will get gunked up with rosin or any non dewaxed concentrate.

Check out the Divine Tribe thread on here, the Quartz Quest might be more up your alley. It uses a quartz cup which can be Q tipped after hits like a normal nail and won't get all gunked up like a coil.

I think in this thread it is very important to distinguish between Solids (Kief, icolator, traditional Hash, Scissor hash etc.) and Concentrates like Rosin, BHO, etc. to give the OP good advice.

As i read it, he wants a Vape for Solids and not for purer Concentrates (not sure about the right wording)

...and he wants a little, portable on the go one. Go with the VapCap, the best small portable for all kinds of hash on the go.
Go Squiby's way with a double screen and hemp fiber inbetween for hash and other solids or the ti concentrate pad way for full-melt hash or other melting trates.

The cheapest VapCap, the "M" it's good enough for that and there are a lot of people who are saying this simple SS VC is working the best of all VC models for extracts of any kind.

So I would buy just the "M" and maybe 1 or 2 more tips (1x for hemp fiber, 1 x for ti mesh for trates, 1 x just for flowers w/o any modification). Tips are interchangeable with ease in seconds.
Don't forget to order some more screens for the sandwiched hemp fiber and as a replacement

Thanks forball the replies, vapcap is looking good. Not too sure on having something seperate to heat with, ive become accustomed to the iq in the pocket and off we go.
I smoke a wide range of goodies from jar dust to screened, bho, solids... Have been hiding then in the middle of the iq chamber surrounded by bud, but would like the flavour on its own...

I've had my Vapcaps for almost three years. I have never combusted.

Keep the flame as low as posdible. Just lick the cap with the inner blue flame while twirling the vapcap. Aim for the middle of the cap as a beginner and respect the click. Do these things and you won't combust.

From there you can experiment with flame length, angle, cap location etc.
