Interesting looking device.

Can't wait to see people's first impressions. My firewood 4 is my go to portable for most situations at the moment but I wish it extracted faster.

Not about trust, I trust MArc, I just need to imagine if this is the right vapre for me and that's not always easy, even with photos. I really enjoyed the FW4 but it was a little under powered for me. Thanks for posting the pics!

Also ordered as soon as I could, before seeing pics, have had a FW3 and a FW4 so I’m lucky to know enough to get on board early. Very curious to see the new ceramic material in person. I already know I love the Firewood interface, and five bowls per battery is easily doable, so there’s a very good chance I’ll have everything I need in a single, pocketable piece, that’d be a first. Vapor path also looks the right length for big, flavorful, low-temp hits - like @Just Justin, I need a bit more power this version, for a faster draw speed than the FW4, and I’ll be super happy.

Anyone speculate how this operates with the tray? Looks cool

my guess: load herb into each bowl, insert into vaporizer body, turn on / vape, pull out tray one click when first bowl is complete, and so on. when there's one bowl left, most of the tray will extend outward but can be fully inserted for travel.

So my computer is kind of down right now so I did a stream on Instagram and Youtube..

Here is the unedited live stream, just kind of chilling not really anything guided, I think IG had more questions.

Hopefully I can get the footage I took edited for a better video but you can at least see the real time performance unedited with no tom foolery.

I will be unlisting or removing this video later.

By looks of it , I'd say you flip the tray inward after the third bowl so that bowl 4-5 end up being 1-2... no need to have 4 bowls hanging , 2 at most ..

we've been calling it The Stapler

it's exactly what the first two pics @djchexxx shared made me think of before reading your post, lol, thats awesome

....

Great IG and FC posts and stream @paytonpenn , i shared a link of the pics on VL for you  FW5 looks fun and efficient.

Congratulations to Firewood , ive been following the thread since I started vaping back in 2016.. always been intrigued by the FW's , love the look and concept of FW5 , seems user friendly and simple/easy to operate too

how's the width and weight of the 5 compared to the 4? pocket-ability is important to me and my 4 has been perfect in this regard.

The review says the dosing tray is wooden; it appears to be ceramic, actually. What do they cost to replace? Also, does the glass MP retract into the unit?

TIA

.

Crap. I think it's ceramic, you're right.
Mine has lines and markings that led me to believe it was wood, but now that I realize the material is super hard and the marks are most likely from tooling.
Thank you @Fat Freddy - i've edited the article and requested confirmation of ceramic from Marc.

The glass MP doesn't retract. It actually doesn't even adjust - if you pull it out the seal is lost and vapor is gone.

I also did not notice it.

He actually wrote it in the store page description.

The Firewood 5 is the fastest Firewood yet with a new stainless steel/ceramic convection/radiant heater that produces flavorful vapor on the first draw. The ceramic dosing tray has 5 chambers that hide inside that vaporizer when not in use, providing one of the most portable vaping experience available. It is powered by a single user-swappable high drain Lithium Ion 18650 cell which easily supplies enough power for 5 chambers. A glass, ceramic, and stainless steel vapor path allow you to experience the full taste of your botanicals, while the precision machined wooden housing provides a warm rich feel.

Black Walnut has a natural color that can range from medium to very dark brown and can potentially show a large range of colors within one piece.

Features:

  • Super Fast Heat Up Times - Coil heats up in about 5 seconds from cold, vapor in 20 Seconds
  • Dosing tray with 5 chambers (approx 0.15g max each) that stow away when not in use
  • Proprietary Draw Sense Technology - dynamically adjusts the heat level based on draw speed and automatically turns off the heater if the button is accidentally depressed while not in use
  • 3 Temperature settings suited for dry botanicals
  • Vibration feedback, no distracting lights
  • Discreet pocketable form factor
  • Easy to load and clean tray dosing system
  • User swappable batteries (requires external charger, sold separately)
  • Vaporizers are covered by a 1 year limited warranty as detailed in the manual

does the flower stay secure inside the clip? does the avb fall out when the clip is pulled out for a fresh bowl?

For me herb doesn't fly when unloading but you'll want to empty the bowl you're done with if you're vaping middle bowls.

Here's a video I made for Instagram, just a quick one. For now my livestream is down and this is all that I'm giving until future full videos. Thanks for watching those who did.

I like it a lot, look s like a beauty! There is some serious ingenuity in these designs, how The wood locks together and the seamless crsftsmanship!

Where is the intake and is the coil replaceable?
So you hold the button this time? I thought it had the same draw sense that turns the heater on? I think a button idea is better, so you can earn the coil up better without using your breath. I really like the draw sense and not having to hold a button though...

That video got my attention....

What's the draw resistance like?

Taste?

Temperature of vapor, warmer or cooler than most?
