Multi-brand HEALTHY RIPS FURY

I have both, but hesitate to make such a subjective call for you. Both fit all 3 of those requirements more or less equally IMO. Durable is always a big question with new to the market vapes. Arizer has a history of excellent vapes with Solo/Air so would probably make a good vape? Then again, ArGo is a new design not using any parts form Solo/Air (except the 18650 which it shares with Air II?). F2 ha a serious price advantage and the capsules are nice/convenient which ArGo doesn't offer.......

Which one can be used like "on demand" and not always as a session vaporizer?

I also have a question regarding charging is it better for lipo batteries to discharge them and then charge them or doesn´t it make a difference for their lifetime when charging when batteries for example are half full...

OK, here's my understanding on these guys. First off, they are Lithium based cells, same chemistry and limitations at Li-ions with a few small differences. They just use an almost solid electrolyte rather than the flammable, toxic, liquid one in common Li-ions that works under pressure. So the cases are lighter and simpler.

Early on they were really solid, but that meant they had to be heated to 60C or more to work, not very practical...... So now they have a tiny bit of gel electrolyte in a porous membrane that does the work. They also have shorter lifespans, 300 to 500 cycles and worse still from the time they're activated (at the factory) they are on borrowed time. Unlike Li-ions they will die of old age in two or 3 years even under ideal conditions. Perhaps best to enjoy them?

They are safer, by far. And lighter although more expensive to make.

Like their brothers, avoid maximum charges (except the first 3 to five times) and deep discharges (ever). Since they 'form in place' it can take a few cycles to get maximum capacity, a process similar but not the same as with Li-ions (which only benefit from the first charge, the first substantial discharge removes any advantage). Both benefit from shorter discharges (recharging early), giving twice as many cycles if you only go half way.

Except for the first few cycles they follow the same rules?

http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries
https://www.genstattu.com/blog/a-few-factors-that-influence-the-lipo-battery-lifespan/

So my advice is to 'treat them the same for maximum life', with the exception of the first few charges. Avoid full charges, and discharges, storage discharged and heat. And stay aware they will die in a few years no matter what you do, so your job is to enjoy them often? Like your cell phone, the battery will die from 'old age'.

I'm enjoying mine at every opportunity and will replace it (or the whole unit) when the time comes. I recommend the same to you.

Which one can be used like "on demand" and not always as a session vaporizer?

Neither, or both, depending on your definition. As I said before, it's more or less 'a push'. Both are conduction vapes with nearly identical load size and heater/power potential.

Compared to real on demand vapes like say VM, VG, VC, ESV or Grasshopper they are both 'not in that class' They heat too slow, and retain heat too much to qualify IMO. They are very similar in size and performance. Only one costs twice as much as the other? Either should serve well, nearly interchangeably.

As Mae West said, 'you pays your money and makes your choice'.

While I don't have an argo, I'm thinking the f2 would be closer to on demand with the fast heat up

If you had one you'd know the ArGo is about as fast. Both are about a minute to solid vapor, although the display on F2 is faster (since it reads heater element, not load, temperature?). Not enough to make an issue of IMO.

Having used both, I just don't see a lot of difference. Either will serve the same basic requirements I think.

On demand means seconds, at least to me. 'Push the button and wait a while' is different? I would also suggest on demand vapes don't usually 'time out' automatically? They are set up for single hits, F2 and ArGo for a series of hits......a session. Either can be turned off early at will, of course.

Should it be unplugged when it has 3 solid bars and 1 flashing bar?
What about HR's literature stating it has overcharge protection? Does that change the general rule of not allowing it to reach full charge?
Honestly its such an awesome little vape that I dont mind this.
So basically we have to keep the battery level at 2-3 bars at all times and we have 15 minutes of run time between charges if we're following the rules. And following these rules will help the battery last 2.1 years instead of 2 years. Got it! lol (seriously tho, thanks for the tips, I'm going to do whatever I can to stretch my battery life).

So we're not supposed to let it reach "fully charged"? The vape should be unplugged from the charger when it has 3 solid bars and 1 flashing bar? Effectively reducing the already short battery life even more since we also cant let it get down to 1 bar I take it?
Honestly thats fine by me, its such an awesome vape that Im willing to overlook all of this ridiculousness. Except there will be times that I wont be available to take it off the charger before it reaches full charge. Oh well! lol
Meh. I wait til it dies and then charge it overnight. I’ve had it since it launched and I haven’t noticed any battery deterioration thus far.
I know the battery will eventually die, but it’s a low maintenance vape - I don’t want to ruin that by having to monitor the charging level all the time. Just my :2c:.

Some subjects that I feel would be really helpful for everyone are the following:

1. What are the recommended good practices for the preservation and maintenance of good battery life? I am sure many people, like me, want to be able to use the device for as long as possible without letting bad habits or ignorance ruin our precious device.

2. A guide to vaporising other herbs like peppermint, eucalyptus, chamomile etc. I know that there are such guides out there but they differ considerably in the temps they suggest for the same herb.

3 .The difference between the fury and rebrands (this is already out there but berried somewhere in the early pages)

4. General Fury tips

1. I dont know about Lithium Polymer but general battery health says that if you want your battery to last longer than average -
Don't plug it in while its hot. Wait twice as long as it takes for the unit to cool, then plug it in.
Don't drain the battery to 0%. They don't like it. Much preferred is 20%, even better is 40%
Don't charge it to full. Only going to 80% will make it happier.
Using a slow charger will actually give you more usable battery capacity, but it takes longer...
If you are going to store it for a while (months) then make sure its at 50-80%
Once a month DO bring it to 100% then down to 20%. A 2013 paper showed that while Lithium batteries are not nearly as bad as Nickel Cadmium they do still have cycle memory.

3. The rebrands are hard to pin down. I would bet that the Sutra Mini is a Fury 1 because they popped up at the same time and it costs money to retool machines so using cheaper parts becomes time consuming and, well, not cheaper. The other 5 rebrands (yes, there are that many) idk about. But the HR comes with Glass, a Bubbler, and a pad instead of the quartz cup. Thats a $45 value. $150-$45=$105. The rebrands all cost about $85 so if you wait for a sale your actually in the green with the HR (unless you really don't care about accessories). Plus you don't have to worry, oh and HALF OFF NEW VAPES!

4. Put a fine screen at the bottom of you chamber. Those heater holes are small but not that small. Anything that gets in there is gunna burn up but still leave stuff behind and there is no way to clean it out.

If you turn off the session either on the Fury 2 or the ArGo do you waste any herb? Or there is any downside if I do this every once in a while if I want to take a few puffs only and not a full session?

Thanks a lot, I'm not sure which one I need!

If you use a stem on the F2 instead of the native mouthpiece, and pull out the stem as soon as you are done with a session, you won’t waste very much. It isn’t technically “on demand” but it does conserve your herb better than many session vapes. I used to do the same thing g with the Solo and Air, and they both were similar in efficiency. I believe the Argo is the same type of stem, so should also be as efficient.
My advice, Go with the F2, you will save a little money and be very happy!

Maybe just wait 2 months. That's when Healthy Rips new vaporizer, the Fierce, I'm guessing will be out.

Oh, thanks, to be honest I was thinking of just going for the OmniVap XL... And in december buy something with less portability for home use.

I only use my vapcap at home, looks like you are using a crack pipe with the jet lighter(nearly all jet lighters are also loud). I also use my F2 at home because it rocks on a bubbler. The F2 is about as stealthy as you can get, it even smells less when using than the Vapcap and to top it off the F2 is US$50 less than the Omnivap xl, almost enough for a Vapcap M.

Thanks a lot bro! Is the F2 durable? Also: Is it bad, do you waste herb or something happens when stopping earlier the session in case you are stealth vaping?

I'm really digging the F2 and I might go with a eNano for home vaping.

I mainly use my F2 at home (I don`t go out much) but when I do, I usually pig the bowl fairly quickly, usually 2 x the 4 minute session timer, so have not tried just `one' hitting. You could use the WPA as a mouthpiece that is great for 4-6 puffs then it is spent or 1 puff and remove from the fury so it does not keep cooking and cap it for later.
If I were you, I would get the Fury2 and Vapcap M instead of an Omnivap and later on get a desktop when funds allow (or VAS beckons) :)

If you're worried about wasting herb, with pretty much any session vaporizer including the Fury 2 you can shut it off a pull or two before you want to stop and then keep pulling until there's no more vapor to cool everything down.

In a broad sense, I'd say no, no waste (loss of potency) in real terms. No THC is destroyed at idle, it simply 'recycles', evaporating in one place and condensing again in a slightly cooler place? No vapor escapes (for practical purposes). Taste might suffer a little, but not potency? When you fire it up again, it's not going to be as nice as a fresh load, but should still do the job if the numbers are right (there's enough THC for the session left).

'In the day' lots of us got Purple Days, a 'stem vape' that used a heating station made of SS tube, some washers and a resistor to heat it with. All buried in a big wood block (insulation). About 8 Watts, took 20 minutes or more to 'warm up', many left them on continuously. You'd load a SS stem (short piece of tube in a plastic 'handle', put it in the heater for half a minute or so, pull it out and get a great hit from about .030 grams. And often a couple of follow up hits with additional heating.

Sometimes guys would space it out and leave the stem heating much longer, go figure. I personally tried this experiment a couple of times. Never OVERNIGHT like a few intrepid fellows did, but they too found a stale but potent hit awaiting their pleasure.

Many of us come back to a load later. It's not 'fresh' but still has the goodness you loaded in but hadn't used yet. I dare say most guys try to load as much as they intend to use to get that 'first hit' treat as much as possible?

Kind of a slippery slope, really. We don't fully extract really, which is why ABV is still potent? Interrupted sessions are a version of that? But nothing is really lost or wasted. It's still somewhere until it leaks out or makes the ultimate sacrifice in your lungs. IIRC a tiny fraction (something like 10%, a few milligrams from a typical load make it to your blood in a timely manner?

Not to worry, enjoy your F2. You can fine tune your load/technique to end 'just right' but the other way works too.

Regards to all,

I have been meaning to write for so many days but I was crazy busy. I still need to go back and read the latest here but I want to get somethings out there first before I succumb to the fatigue again.

Ok so before I bought my fury 2 I went through all the reviews, I talked with you guys here and I watched pretty much every video there was on the fury 2. I had pretty high expectations. I was expecting something small but with quality built, something with incredible power, something that extracts fast and fully and hits pretty well. So how is it possible that when I received my fury I was actually surprised and blown away by the quality and performance of this thing? Seriously my expectations where so high but I was still positively surprised!

My review:

Context: I am smoking weed for 21 years but vaping only a few months and haven't combusted since. I use weed for both recreational and medical reasons every day. The vapes I have to compare are the XMAX Starry and the Vapcap M. I have a relatively very high tolerance but I am recently taking steps to lower my tolerance and become a microdoser.

EUROPE CUSTOMERS: I ordered from HR cause I wanted to support the company directly plus the vaposhop didn't have the capsules that I wanted. It arrived in 6 days (well it arrived in the Netherlands in 3 days and another 3 days it was stuck somewhere with Post NL). HR valued the package at 38$ (about 36EUR) so I had to pay very little for customs around 19EUR, out of which 13EUR was administrative costs and 6EUR VAT (Yeah the Dutch really don't want you importing anything above 22 EUR without them taking their cut of the pie). The Fury bundle with the free glass mouthpiece, the bubbler, the dosing capsules, the shipping costs and the customs came to about 156EUR (use code loyalty20 for 20$ off). Still much cheaper than just getting the fury with a WPA and a glass mouthpiece from the vaposhop. Order directly it is so worth it! Plus their customer service is phenomenal so if you have specific concerns in your country just drop them a line and they will help if they can.

SMELL: I did 4 burn offs and although there where was no nasty smell there was this "new car" smell coming from the silicon of the mouthpiece. I didn't want to waste good bud on those 1-2 first sessions needed to cure the silicon. So I took a bit of dried peppermint leaves I have in my cupboard for tea (you can use any herb in your pantry as long as you like its smell), put some of it in the chamber and turned it on at the lowest temp. I didn't take any puffs just let it burn off. When the session was over, I did another one at a bit of a higher temp but this time I took 2-3 puffs without inhaling just to circulate the air higher on the mouthpiece. When the second session was over, I left the peppermint herb in the chamber until the next day (it was late at night when I was doing that). The herbs will not leave any residue in your chamber cause they don't have raisin like weed. There is now absolutely no fowl smell whatsoever but there is a slight minty smell coming out of it if I stick my nose on the mouthpiece. I have to say, I haven't used the mouthpiece yet, mainly cause I am head over heels with the glass mouthpiece but I am sure that if there any hints of different taste when I do my first session, it will taste like mint. Hope this helps others with sensitive taste buds. In general the vaping smell in the room seems to me that is less than the M and absolutely, definitely, without a doubt less than the starry.

Native mouthpiece: Like I said I haven't used it much, mainly because I love the glass mouthpiece so much I haven't brought myself to try it yet. I am quite worried about cleaning the thing (I hate smelly things) so I have stuck some hemp fiber behind the screen hoping that it will catch most of the reclaim. It doesn't affect the airflow at all as far as I can say. If it all works out, when this get full of reclaim, I will only have to take out the hemp from behind the screen and stuff it in the chamber for a freebie session! I will update when I finally start using my native mouthpiece. Could I dump the entire mouthpiece in milk and boil it to make stem milk?

Performance: I was expecting something that hits good but this was unexpectedly good somehow. I have been allowing my self 3 glass stem bowls per day (lowering tolerance) and I have been vaping the same gram of weed for the past 6 days! That is unheard of! I would pat my self in the back for using 1-2 grams per day! I don't get to a 10 of course but it is definitely enough for my to have a good symptom relief and feel like a 4/10 high for a good hour or so. I start each bowl at 350F and I take out the stem after every draw. I temp step up when there is no more vapour. This way I smoke the same stem for 3-4 rounds. I have the fury for the past 6 days and I only used my vapcap M once, just to compare with the same strain, on the same day (I was also on a tbreak and a resensitisation process to reduce my tolerance so I wanted to confirm it was the device and not the change in my tolerance). I hate to admit but my M lost spectacularly in every aspect (@natural farmer I now understand why you spoke such great words of blasphemy the other day regarding the vapcap. I see now you spoke great words of wisdom!). The M did not get me high with the same amount at all and I had very minimal symptom relief that lasted less than half an hour. It also felt like so much work.

Capsules: I haven't used them yet but one of them came stuck and when I unstuck it I saw that it was a bit damaged on the top. It is still functional but it will not last many uses. Pity but it is what it is. Maybe I got a bit spoiled by the quality/prices of their other products but I found the capsules a bit overpriced for what they are.

Glass mouthpiece: This thing is phenomenal! I know I don't have much to compare it with but it has been the single most tasty, most efficient and most convenient way I have ever used to put weed in my lungs. I like to hold it upside down as a pipe and take it out between draws. I would have never imagined that a 0.05-0.06 would give me any effects and as I mentioned earlier, the same amount gave me nothing on my M. The bent stem also stops any little pieces from making it to your mouth. It is an absolute joy!

Bubbler: I have used it dry once and it was very nice. I would have used it more but I am still in the honeymoon phase and can't get away from the glass mouthpiece. It will see more use in the future I am sure. I plan to use it a lot when I vape hash at higher temperatures. Any cleaning tips for the thing?

Battery: If I do sessions back to back I can get around 8 rounds. If I let it cool in-between I get about 6. I don't drain the battery and I stop when there is one bar visible. Basically the advice of @Vibiojj83 (thanks so much for your response) and @OF seems to be spot on.

@HealthyRips.com Thank you so much for your exceptional product and service. You have won another loyal customer for life. I have to say it must really suck to be you at the moment. You have raised the bar and the expectations so high with the Fury 2 that it will be very difficult to top it off with the Fierce. You have very big shoes to fill and I cannot wait to see what happens next. Keep up the good work!

To everyone who helped me with my questions and helped me with my decision I am deeply grateful. I only hope to help you as well somehow one day, or at least pay it forward.

I am in love with my new Fury and heavenly medicated at the moment :)

Oh what a difference a vape makes...

Howdy! You may have put it off for a while, but a most impressive first post. Perhaps not best first post of the year, but surely a top contender. I think you've summed it up excellently, thanks.

I hope you get a chance to visit again soon, I suspect you'll have some more worth listening to.

As to the question above, I think that's easily explained away, very few take us seriously? Not that they (you) should, of course given the cost of the advice, but I caution you about @ataxian, If there's any glass about you should take him most seriously. He breaks glass you know.......

I don't know unless you are a registered instagram user if you'll be able to see this, but it's a short story by puffitup on how to clean your Fury:

https://www.instagram.com/stories/puffitup/
Thanks for posting that. Very simple and straightforward. (Except I had to join ig, which I've scrupulously avoided.)

I tend to clean my vapes once a week or ten days. And pipes and stuff before that. I have all the tools and cleaners. I don't like funky(smelly/sticky resin) devices or instruments, either at home or on the road. (Actually, that's not true. I had a clay pipe for more than twenty years that I loved--and it sure got uncleanably funky.) Still, I don't want to roll down the window on a hot day for a minor cop pull-over, and have him instantly smell it. Vaping itself is 97% less odorous.

But with the dosing caps, to my surprise, I haven't had to clean my F2 since they arrived, which I think is now four weeks, right?. The screen on the caps is much finer than the holes in the S&B caps. I've got a bunch of flower that was frozen so has loose trichomes, which make a tough mess in my Crafty. The HR caps are smaller, which is good, and bit too fiddly, but the finer gauge screen keeps the oven and the mouthpiece so much cleaner. I just realized that I've not cleaned the siliconed ss screen at the bottom of the mouthpiece even once. I've also been vaping some very resinous stuff, so I'm even more surprised at how clean the native mouthpiece is after a month of daily use, one to three caps a day, five or six days a week. Seriously, I haven't needed to clean it once. It really should be dripping. All I see is moderate condensation, but that's it. I like this. Wonder what others are experiencing.

Thanks for this! Unfortunately I don’t have to ig anymore. I deleted it a couple of months ago :/

If you don't have an account, you can't view that 1 page?

I'm an instagram newbie & am using a laptop, not a phone, so options like emoticons aren't available to me. Rarely does the 'hearts' feature work. & I don't know what happens on a phone, but rarely, do the participants comments scroll on my end so I miss out on the conversation. But if you're following 'everything vape,' you really do have to be on it. Catch 22.
