I feel it is by quite a bit I also think it is better at dabbing as well.

I have found I can get pretty even browning using the vrod with a little lower temps and some breath control. The carb cap helps as well. I find the faster my draw is the more uneven the roast is.
How has your modded coil been working with your Menovo enail? I have the same one.

The shower head is better for herb by quite a bit ... thought the VROD would replace the shower head...it won't. The shower head gives a much more even and smooth extraction with flower for some reason.

I have darkness at the edges in the bowl and the center is much lighter. Not smooth even browning like the showerhead. Still feel fond for the VROD but it is not able to replace my Shower Head.

:2c:
Glad you got it man , weird that is the 2nd time I have heard that. I am getting even browning throughout. I do however treat my flower hits as I would a dab and spin the carb cap usually after my second hit to move the air around a bit. I never get the brown edges like I did when i was using the Wa with flower.

It works great. I do notice the coil “clicking” more since it’s enclosed in the vrod head it seams to amplify the sound.

For those of you coming from the showerhead to the vrod if you are used to using high temps 700 and above I recommend dropping to about 650 to start with. Also I can overpower the vrod with a fast draw I feel a medium draw the whole hit is best. This is without a carb cap.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a clicking coil. Anyone know what's causing that? Is the coil or controller causing it?

@ataxian we have chatted before i think..your name is very familiar to me...that lemon kush in a FP would be the bee's knees. I was on the limb about getting a FP because i am not really a glass user.(bongs) The FP is probably one of the tastiest vapes on the market. I have never tasted anything as good as the FP. The elev8r runs a close 2nd in taste. Join the club man you will not be dissappointed.

unfortunately I heard from NV that they are out of the D-Nail SiC dishes and they don't know if/when they will get more. Between that and hearing the SH is still superior for flower (95% of my usage) this is starting to change my outlook

Sorry for the back to back but this one needs to be a stand alone.

What the hell is causing this ring with the VROD? Very strange to me.

Is that 20mm in diameter? I wonder if that's an artifact from the coil.

It’s the coil for sure as even when I turn the controller off and the coil is cooling I hear it clicking.

...i would assume expansion due to being heated... i hear this faintly with my showerhead currently while its heating up...
No it definitely isn’t expansion from heat. It sounds like some sort of relay or something for temperature modulation. Very distinct and rhythmic no just creaking metal.

I think more cool air is traveling faster through the middle holes than the edge holes. It took me a little bit of playing around to find the right temperature and draw speed but I can get a fairly even vape of the weed but I still have to stir after every hit.

Was that with or with out a carb cap?

They actually said they don't know if they will be getting more?

I actually just got an email from Newvape saying the same thing about the Dnail SiC Dishes. I might just go for the discounted one off the D-nail website if NV has issues getting inventory. Lori told me VRODs are being machined right now and should be completed in the next couple days for anyone waiting for an order.

I agree on that too. The VROD takes the same amount of draws as the shower head to finish a load. Taste just drops off a hit or more earlier.

Depending on what a person's poison is the VROD is a perfect compromise for a concentrate person that wants to do herb here and there.

Have you tried adjusting the temp or your draw speed much? Others said they got similar results to the ShowerHead at lower temps on the VRod.

You’re not the first to report uneven results under some conditions, but I think you would be the first to report not being able to get even results at all.

Yeah the first day I was feeling a little disappointed because my temp was super high, first bowl Scorched bad, black abv. I'm used to running my wrap around at 745 ish, now that I got the V-Rod with the newvape controller and coil, I've gone down to about 585 and getting very good results. I usually do double deckers and I've only got the quartz dish right now.

I fill my shovelhead half way with pretty finely ground herbs, then just a small dab on top in the quartz dish ( for now) I get two really nice hits out of that and yeah I got to slow down with the breath, teeny bit of very dark pooling in the quartz dish, very minimal , still fine-tuning my temps, I'll try turning the carb cap around a bit, I just leave it stationary.

Both, but sometimes I do turn it down when going pure flower. More below.

on point customer service!
Dang right! They have always done me right. If you have something, a question or a complaint, reach out and let them make it right.

Is the VROD better than the WA for flower?
Tough question, the vrod is better all around I think, but I also get the burnt edges like @steama with the V, never with the WA. I think the vrod hits a lot harder, I had to turn it down from the WA settings I use, but I also do double deckers a lot, it's rare that I do just flower.

clicking coil
This is actually pretty common, all kinds of things that heat and cool rapidly 'click' :)

*Edit, I said actually like 15 times in that sentence, so edited it out ;)

I have the same results w/ the uneven vaping w/ the vrod ... this is my first newvape device though so I don't have a point of comparison (I very much like it so far though!)

I very much like it too, and I get very even vaporization with stir sooooooo....problem solved ;)

Will probably figure it out though, I've been playing with that thermocouple and it's interestingly measuring the NV controller/coil way off compared to the Sublimator. I haven't tried it with the GS yet.

In any case yes the Vrod rocks, maybe I'm just still too hot, but would love to hear other's experiences. I don't mind stirring at all, I do it in every vape where it's possible and some where it's not ;)

It’s hard to judge draw speed, but can you and @steama estimate the speed(s) you’ve tried and the temps you’ve tried them at?

I’m hoping it’s something you guys can get dialed in without too much trouble once we have more data.

Maybe we need close-up video of vapor going through a glass bowl in slow motion to see exactly what the air is doing. ;)

I'm always going through water and dropdown. I use the doubleweave screen so I have better reclaim and a consistency to the draw resistence. I say all this to enforce that I'm usually drawing at the same speed by design so I was drawing the same through the WA as I am the VROD.

640F where I was routinely with the WA, brought it to near combustion in the VROD.
585F great flavor, good extraction in ~1 15 second hit but most of the extraction is around the edges, but stir and it's fine.

My glass bowl shipped from ebay today ;)

When I was testing the VROD I didn't have nearly the same experience with the ring. Slightly lighter ABVin the middle on a bowl or two, but overall even ABV. There are a lot of factors to consider like draw speed, temp, piece's restriction, screen cleanliness, etc. Hoping to get the VROD soon-ish. Maybe a good 7/10 sale will convince me to go ahead and order one for myself.

Theres usually a 10 percent off code around,
"Kief_ivy" is a 10 percent off I know of.

Yeah, if you've ordered in the past there is also a 10% code on the bags. I already have so much from them and have no real need; I think I'm going to wait for a better deal. Not that it isn't worth it, it certainly is. I just have no actual need for it and can wait. Plus I'm on the waitlist for two other vapes, possibly a third, and have really been enjoying what else there is out there. Like I said before, the SH (or VROD if you''re like me and don't dab on Ti) is the LAST vape you'll ever need. Just unfortunately for me, not the only one I want.

I'm very excited for the VROD, and especially the cap. While I had it here, I was using it constantly on the Dnail WA as well.

Just checked Dnail's website and they have factory second SiC for 40 and the normals are sold out. I also would like to pick up one of those with the dnail dabber. Hobbies are expensive... :ugh:

Been playing around with temps a little on the SH with rosin. My lungs are on the fritz/got the gremlins in/closed for refurbishment/living a lie, so I've taken a little inspiration from this thread, ppls findings with the VROD, and a random rosin guy I started watching recently...

Getting really nice clouds and no lung irritation at 580f dabbing organic, cured rosin on the SH. Means I can take bigger hits. Awesome. Drawing the fine ball point dabber directly round the dish, almost no oil travel up the dabber stem.

The idea that I might be able to go on even deeper adventures in lower temps with a VROD is very exciting!

Really hoping I notice a flavour difference on the VROD SiC.
