Spoke to Ryan and all waitlist orders WILL get be able to get a splinter regardless of location. The problem with not being able to sign up for the members section outside of the US is a known bug and is currently being looked at. After the waitlist is completed is when the store will go domestic only, with vapefiend handling EU.

Apparently I'm to blame for this .. hmmm .. ok... thanks for the love rbt

Is there anywhere at all I can buy a Splinter? I'm always on the lookout but never have any luck. Pretty sure I'll ride a unicorn before I enjoy a ride with one of these! :)

The Splinter waitlist is being worked on in small batches, then RBT is obligated to provide vapes to Vapefiend in the U.K. If in the U.S, you can order at https://www.rastabuddhatao.com .

I don't really know what the issues are either, but from my perspective a euro retailer is a good thing. I like directly supporting retailers, but importing goods to the UK from the US always incurs painful customs charges as well as long and expensive shipping.

I am as much in the dark as anyone, but what happened on Instagram or anywhere outside of FC should stay outside of FC. We've tried to put a stop to this feud between @RastaBuddahTao fans and @Bravesst fans here on FC and it pisses me off that they have dragged it back here. Further discussion along these lines is not appropriate. Take it where it belongs.

Got an e-mail the splinter was in stock. Was in my cart two minutes later and filling out the credit card info. Hit the go button and got the out of stock message. Bah! I don't mind waiting for something to be made but I do get frustrated when I can't even complete my order. I must have that VAS thingy you all go on about. Maybe I'll buy another Dynavap of some flavor today to stave it off for a while.

If the owner is lurking around here hit me up if you want to sell me some stuff otherwise good for you for being so busy.

I’ve tried to order the splinter but says out of stock. I’ll wait. My only issue with all this drama is what does a pissing match solve. With either side. Ryan ruffled so many feathers with the very first model he designed and made. Quite honestly most of it was deserved. But once he offered full refunds the hate and ridicule should of ended there but it hasn’t. And for all party’s it should end because it makes all parties look very childish and immature. This is a newer industry that really needs all parties to act like mature adults and handle themselves like professionals and not teenagers that just want to get high.

Yeah, I had the same experience, " in stock, out of stock"! It's difficult to have much in the way of consumer trust with that kind of behavior being more the rule than the exception with RBT!

The "in stock" message is most likely an error considering there's a waiting list of 300+.....well maybe a lil less since Ryan has already shipped out some.

I know I'd be pissed as hell if someone could buy it right now from the Web site while I keep waiting for my number to come up.

I know its 'being looked at' but I can't even get that far. Getting pretty twitchy not beimg able to choose any where outside the US for postage.
Ryan did say in the email that he would give every one on the wait list a couple of weeks to sign up, maybe he wants every one signed up before he releases the sales? Cause it never said anything about purchasing during that time in the email.

So did everyone on the waitlist get an email? Coz i didn't :uhoh: hope that doesnt come in to play when it comes to fulfilling the wait list! I thought perhaps the waitlist would be gone through on an individual basis as it were, rather than through the website.

"Greetings Splinter fans....

We had an IT glitch dump the email to notify you that Splinter is ready. Please once again push the green button at the following link to be notified when Splinter is ready. It will be a few months before we have Splinters in-stock so please be patient.

Peace,
Ryan"

Any one know where the link is, or if there actually is one?

So...

I've had the Splinter for quite a while now and am using it nearly exclusively with the exception of Solo 2 seshes when I want that style.

I've had a lot of time to analyze the different settings and really figure out what I prefer. As most of you know, I use FJ firmware and almost always use TC on cruise mode with my D020d.

Until recently!

I'm using my Jhook almost exclusively. It is just one of the most satisfying vape experiences I've ever had when paired with the Splinter. The vapor is so smooth with incredible flavor, but the hits I'm getting are just effortlessly huge with my new technique. The hits just feel so incredibly dense once the vapor starts pouring in (which is very quick now) that it remind me of just hitting a pipe and getting that instant feedback knowing you're getting a hit.

The big change in my technique is that I'm not using temp control as often. I have found that pros of wattage mode are currently outweighing the pros of TC mode for me currently with this setup. The wattage mode gets to temp faster, produces vapor faster after drawing, and has thicker vapor leading to more robust hits. This is huge for me. The hits are bigger than I could ever need. The ABV is near perfect, I don't even stir 90% of my seshes unless it's just extremely convenient for me (same as TC mode though). Also, the wood stays cooler in Wattage mode.

In TC mode, the hits don't feel as dense. They feel a bit more aired out, like you need to use more lung for the same hit compared to wattage mode. Wattage feels like the vapor just pours in thick, TC mode is more drawn out. With that said, TC mode does longer hits better, is more consistent, and still provides exceptional vapor production. Trust me, if it didn't kickass in TC mode I wouldn't have been using it all this time. But wattage mode is finding a place in my heart. I'll keep experimenting, but I've been using wattage mode for nearly 1-2 weeks now.

For what it's worth, my friends who like the biggest hit they can possibly take (they have an lsv), they use TC mode if they use the Splinter. Through huge long hits through the bubbler or super rips, I'll probably stick with TC mode.

I don't think of this vape as a portable in the slightest, this thing keeps up with the LSV no problem. Some days it feels more powerful, but that's probably wishful thinking. I'd say realistically it just just barely below the LSV.

Just loving the Splinter.

Excited for everyone to get theirs! :haw:

If I'm going for a quick heatup and sesh, I'll start around 32 for the first hit from a cold start. Then bump it down to 27-29 for the remaining sesh, going further up if required but normally 29 is plenty.

Basically a slow-medium pull. Too slow and the vapor takes too long to form, too fast and same issue. Anywhere in between has good results. 3-5 second or so preheat. Maybe 7. I don't count. I just casually hold button down as I prepare myself for the hit.

Here's the setup

Just curious @SpudBob, but when did you sign up for the list? I don’t know my number and the wait is killing me. I want to try to estimate my number by going off when you signed up ;):D
