Remember how we were told my the politicians (not the scientists) that a deadly Novichok nerve agent - produced by Russia - was used in the attempted assassination of the Skripals? Remember the 50 questions (here and here) we had surrounding the 'facts' as Theresa May had laid them out? Ever wonder why, given how utterly deadly we were told this chemical was, the Skripals wondered around for a few hours after being 'infected' and then days later, survived with no chronic damage?

Well those doubts may well have just been answered as according to the independent Swiss state Spiez lab, the substance used on Sergei Skripal was an agent called BZ, which was never produced in Russia, but was in service in the US, UK, and other NATO states.

New 3-D map of Milky Way will ‘revolutionize astronomy’

Europe’s Gaia satellite has produced a “stunning” 3-D map, published Wednesday, of more than a billion stars in our Milky Way galaxy, complete with their distance from Earth, their colour, and their motion through space.

The eagerly-anticipated catalogue was compiled from data gathered by Gaia on some 1.7 billion stars over 22 months in 2014-2016, from its unique vantage point in space about 1.5 million kilometres (930,000 miles) from Earth.

'Sexuality expert' says parents should ask for baby's consent when changing nappies

A news network in Australia has come under fire after it aired an interview with a “sexuality expert” who urged parents to ask for their baby’s consent when changing nappies.

Deanne Carson, a "sexuality educator" with Body Safe Australia appeared on the show to talk about establishing a “culture of consent” in the home.

Speaking during the segment on ABC news she said she works with children from birth on issues of consent.

When asked to give an example of how parents could establish the culture in their home she said they could ask questions such as “I'm going to change your nappy now, is that okay?"

Deanne Carson said parents should create a culture of consent for their children

She continued: “Of course the baby is not going to respond 'yes mum, that's awesome. I'd love to have my nappy changed.'

“But if you leave a space, and wait for body language and wait to make eye contact, then you're letting that child know that their response matters.”

Many viewers were left confused by this advice.

Veteran receives penis and scrotum transplant in surgery doctors say is a medical first

An Afghanistan war veteran who had his genitals blown off by a roadside bomb is the recipient of a donated penis and scrotum that doctors hope will restore his ability to function normally.

Doctors said the transplant, made in a 14-hour surgery, is a medical first.

This is great, but what got to me in the article is his insurance doesn't cover the surgery. He was injured in combat. That SHOULD be covered by the damn government which sent him there to get his junk blown off in the first place!

Traces Of Opioids Found In Seattle-Area Mussels

Bay mussels in Washington's Puget Sound have tested positive for trace amounts of oxycodone, providing more evidence that the opioid prescription medication is truly ubiquitous.

Researchers at the Puget Sound Institute who analyzed the mussels said the discovery of pharmaceuticals and illicit drugs in harbors in the Seattle and Bremerton areas is not uncommon — but the organization noted this is the first time that opioids have been found in local shellfish.

Off-duty FBI agent accidentally shoots man while dancing

An off-duty FBI agent accidentally shot a man while dancing at a nightclub in Colorado, police say. Cell phone video shows the unidentified agent at a club in downtown Denver Saturday night.

In the video, you can see a gun falling from the agent's waistband holder as he dances and does a backflip. When the agent goes to pick up his gun from the floor, it accidentally fires.

Authorities say a man in the crowd was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital. He is expected to be okay.
