@supershredderdan, how long will each beta-tester have with the StemPod before they have to mail it on?

So after you start to get bt feedback, you may make a revision or two ... or none at all. So barring the very off-chance that you need a new prototype, you'll, then, go into production & then we can purchase? Is this how it's rolling out?

Also, while I have your ear, you've forgotten to answer my final question previously asked. So I ask again.

I have several questions:

1. How much does the SP weigh either with or without the rubber shield? And how much does the MP weigh?

BTW, Dan, you think after this Memorial Day weekend, you can grace us with an instagram session ... as I enjoy them. :D

Each tester will have 1 week to use the StemPod before mailing it to the next. We have a 3rd prototype in progress right now, feedback from testers will help with finalizing the design and the packaging. Sorry I forgot to weigh the stempod itself but in the 3d printed packaging it came out to about 9 oz. I will do an insta sesh soon, been out of the house more often than not lately so its fallen by the wayside a bit, I do love streaming with you guys though!

Guy's I got my StemPod coming soon and I really couldn't be more excited. I'm sure this thing is going to knock my socks off potency wise. Dan is such a chill dude, feel like I've been getting to know him pretty well over the IG live feeds. If you guys haven't had a chance to check that out as well as his IG I highly recommend checking it. His live feeds are the best, nothing like watching Dan choke over his massive hits, he really doesn't hold back.

So excited!!

Also, I saw him test the device live before he shipped it off, and goddam were the rips just massive.

Woooo!

Hellooooo everyone!

Got my StemPod prototype today and man this thing is a total beast. Flavor was great, hits were huge and smooth, adjustable airflow is getting much more use than I expected, just all around great unit. My first sesh was just a super quick half bowl just to try real quick. Was a good experience. Really sat down just now to enjoy and test a sesh and wow was I impressed. Got it all on video too! Video ended early, ran out of space on my phone. Anyway, here ya go! StemPod in action!

P.S. Would like to add that I'd prefer to not talk about any comparisons at this point in time, I want to just focus on the StemPod.

Wow, that thing looks like it's kicking out tons of vapor.

Thanks for the sneak peak @AJS.

Do you know if the coils are glowing when in use?

Is it smaller than the splinter, it looked like it when you held the two together?

Thanks @AJS , your initial reaction and not hearing a word from @Other Side tells us it's a great vape , even without a comparison!! Total beast , Huge smooth clouds and good vapor as you described it on IG sounds top notch !

Looking good @supershredderdan , keep up the great work . if I land on a bag of money I'll buy one for sure ! some of you's know I have lung power , it be interesting to see what I can do with the ModPod .

Wow, really thinking about testing one of these while I wait for my splinter.

I love the fact that I can rebuild the heating coil even tho it seems to work perfect stock. Also the control airflow its a nice feature. @AJS how will you rate it if you compare it to a splinter? Same even ABV??

Amazing work @supershredderdan, seems like you gona have an order from UK soon ;)

Let me interject really quick, other side had our 2nd prototype for testing whereas ajs has the 3rd. The 3rd prototype is much more representative of the final product. The reason other side hasn't posted anything was that it was giving him some problems. Hopefully the new model has addressed these issues. Other side is more than welcome to post his thoughts, just keep in mind it was a earlier prototype .I'll get a finished one out to him soon enough

I'm guessing the implication is that you've been knocked on your ass from the test sessions on this beast, lol.
I have feedback but it's been in reserve while I worked through some things with Dan. I will throw some out later but I would like @P.A.M. to answer this.

Glows within a second of preheating, maybe the airflow cools it down enough to just under glow but I can't see when hitting. Assume it glows.

Little skinnier, about same length, heavier material of course.

Not going to do any performance comparisons yet.
ABV is great though. I like lower-med temp balanced with lower airflow, which naturally creates more even abv and a medium brown. If I cranked wattage up and inhaled hard, that would bring out the hotspots most likely.
_______________

I used this thing through water last night under my normal circumstances, and it held up absolutely wonderfully. Great flavor, huge hits, little irritation on the higher temps with high airflow but easily remedied by very slightly changing up technique. I was going for an extreme using a method that I normally don't use, (high heat high airflow), so under my normal variables it is great through water. It still was great, huge hits and held flavor, just not the smoothest under those extreme variables. Could also be that type of hit doesn't favor a large chambered bubbler, maybe my skinnier straight shot hammber bubbler will have better results with that type of style.

With a medium temp low airflow, you get super milky clouds in the bubbler. The backpressure of a medium draw paired with restricted airflow really lets the herb bake in the heat while limiting the amount of air coming in to really whitewall. While this seems great, let's be real, convection vapes aren't about low airflow bubbler milks, but instead just huge amounts of vapor coming in at a balanced rate of airflow/vapor production. So while this has the ability to do low airflow milks with great flavor, I think water is better suited for a medium-high airflow to really really allow the vapor to pour in. In the end, it is whatever works best for the user which is what is so cool about the adjustable airflow. And the low airflow is much better for me dry because it limits the amount of hot air that can hit your throat, increasing smoothness.

The fact that the heater setup is 2 coils that get to temp nearly instantly (and also cools off somewhat quick) means this vape, so far, seems to have great performance without needing to prime a hit. It does very well with taking a huge greens rip from cold, putting your bubbler down for an hour, coming back, and getting nearly the exact same second rip an hour later that you'd achieve if you were to just do back to back hits. Naturally the second subsequent back to back hit would heat slightly faster as the vape itself is warm as well as your material already being heated/hot, but when it comes to the heater itself, there isn't a ton of time needed for the heater to soak up and spread heat.
Basically what I'm saying is, don't expect your second or third rip to be significantly stronger than the first rip, this vape basically starts at full potential from cold. This means it works extremely well as an on demand vape, but doesn't get any added benefits for subsequent hits/using it as a session vape. Heatup time basically stays the same whether from cold or hot, the only real difference is your actual vaped material is hotter for the second hit, meaning naturally it will start producing vapor a little quicker. But that isn't relative to the heater itself, just the natural physics of hot herb.

Another benefit to the coil system as Dan mentioned to me when we were discussing what I just ^ wrote above, is you can ride the line of combustion and the second you let off the trigger the vape is cooling down. It does not need to wait for a large surface area to dissipate the heat, it reacts very quickly when you let off the trigger. Means shorter vapor production when letting off the trigger, but faster reaction time to avoid combustion or control your sesh. It's like small birds vs large winged birds. The large bird uses a lot of energy to get to the peak of it's flight, then can just soar for a while as it slowly glides down. The small bird is constantly using energy to keep flight but has much more control over micro movements. I see the StemPod as that small bird with lots of control. If he stops beating his wings he's going to fall, but he can duck under the combusting tree if needed ;)

If you are a "take a hit then put down for 5 minutes or an hour" kind of vaporist, this thing is a beast at that. If you want to do back to back hits, it won't make much of a difference, it will still hit basically the same as your first hit...which will still be a huge flavorful rip.

This is only after a night of testing. Used a few objective facts to try to theorize different usage styles and how the vape will react. Thoughts subject to change.

He was probably trying to evoke a response from you - which he got. Next time take it up via PM if you must, but don't reply to trollish posts in the thread. Let the staff take care of it. @P.A.M. earned himself a warning point for his post. Let's not derail the thread with any personal beefs.

Thank you.

Thanks to @Stu I can make another post without double posting. Woo! More StemPod adventures!

Took 'er outside with the hammer bubbler and it was a great experience. Great flaves, awesome effects (seriously this vape can definitely over medicate), and huge clouds. Few hits on 27W, bumped to 30W, tried 35W, finished on 38W. I opened up the airflow probably 70% and pulled pretty hard (what I'd consider hard). Abv didn't even get a dark brown, just a nice yellow brown. I guess I don't need to pull as hard as I did at that W, will practice a tad slower next time.

I think a lower temp and pulling slower will feel smoother for me than a higher temp pulling faster because the deeper the vapor gets in your lungs during those long fast pulls, the more your need to cough ime. Got to find the balance of vapor density.

Even without perfecting my seshes, this thing gives almost perfect abv, great flavor, huge clouds and great effects with barely any effort. (I'm so used to on demand convection tho that maybe this is more difficult for others). I basically just press the button and wait 1-2 seconds, start inhaling, you'll feel the temp ramp up real quick and get a thickness in your mouth as vapor starts, and just pull at a moderate pace around 30W and you will nearly always get a great rip within about 15 seconds of pressing the button from a cold start.

Something I've noticed is I've yet to get a bad taste, I only get at worst a neutral darker taste, nothing bad at all. Granted I haven't pushed the temperatures yet, I'm using her pretty modestly, but so far that's the case.

So far so good!

That avb looks great!

I really like how this vape looks. I will order one.

@AJS have you tried to use ddave's 14mm stem and reducer with the stempod? I wonder if it would fit.

I'll get to it. It should fit. The oring makes it nearly universal across 18s.
